Falsely Reported for Voice Chat

I was falsely reported for Voice Chat because I kept telling some random guy in a lobby to back the hell off after he repeatedly tried to kill me, in which I shot him in self-defense! I use my microphone for communications with my crew. This is really going to make it harder to run my crew while on GTA Online.

I don't personally know if they can draw some sort of voice transcript of what was said in the lobby. But most people who get the mute bans, use the N word one time too many. Not saying you used it, but if you didn't I wouldn't worry about it.

@PhyscoGamer we use our microphones for communication, it isn't exactly easy to just stop in the middle of a shootout with a random person to coordinate a plan to apprehend or neutralize the threat. This is why we use microphones. Thus making it harder to operate in the field without microphones. Sending messages takes a whole lot longer than using voice chat.

He wasn't console banned he was banned from using voice chat in the game so even if he got a new console it wouldn't matter because the ban is tied to his account.

 

OP it's only for a week or two it's not perma unless this is your 2nd time

Everyone gets reported randomly at least once or twice. I've gotten reported twice for having a rank above 120 in a lobby full of players not exceeding 60. Did I face any penalties, no because when you are reported they check for proof or you must have enough reports to garner recognition.. I would assume.

@AiraCobra this is my first Voice Chat Ban, I have been reading about this and I have heard that it will glitch for people and not go away for a very long time.

@Soundism I am on PlayStation Network, it keeps you from hearing everyone and everyone from hearing you. Even your crew and friends. The way this ban was set up is rather idiotic. I think that this Voice Chat ban should just prevent you from talking to and hearing random people that are not friends or in your crew.

sorry to break this to you but any punishment implemented by R* would glitch on people and wont go away in a very long time...

to this day, i have to glitch myself out of the bad sport server 'cause their timer simply keep getting reset!

There is even an option to report someone because they are "Annoying Me"

sad thing is... those reports for someone annoying you, carry the same weight as someone glitching millions of dollars and being reported.

a report is numbers based, get enough, then they look at your case (probably after they have automatically taken action)

People should just simply mute instead of reporting. I don't blast music over the microphone, I don't broadcast my house over the microphone. If they want to report someone, then why not report individuals who constantly call someone a f*ggot or use the "N" word every five seconds.

That's the great thing about my Sony Pluse PS3 headphone it has a switch to where i can change the volum of the people talking on there mics i can change it so i only hear a tiny bit and more in game sound and vise versa.

 

It's an awesome setting especially in missions when you can't mute other players via the pause menu but i can on my headset
