It's about a videogame that in the works for 5 or so years and instead of evolving just used a cheaper version of their previous cop system. It's random, that's my point. Besides the fact that cops will most definitely go to where you are even if you're hiding on ground level or even some rooftops, the witness system is broken and seems like anything is a reason for the cops to go after you. You can't even stand in front of a ped without them going "oh no, you're looking at me - I'm calling the cops". I played GTA IV yesterday and I can confirm that the cop system isn't perfect but it's also not that cheap. I'm not sure about the last V update as the last time I played it wasn't updated (haven't done it in a few weeks, I think), but IMO it's ridiculous to spend so much time with Online updates and forget about SP. Online IS a huge part of the game, but I didn't pay all that money for a physical disc of online gaming. I paid for SP first - just like I always bought GTA games for the SP experience. I just think that after all this time waiting for the game, the cops system could be way better. Heck, I remember reading in previews that they were smarter and you could hide in plain sight as long as they didn't notice it was you. Was it in IGN's preview? I don't know, but there were comments about smarter cops. What happened between preview-time and release date, then? And why it hasn't been fixed so far (at least until the last time I played)? It's about time we had a realistic sop system in a GTA game. You know, one where you can actually hide and they'll search the area looking for leads instead of going straight to where you are. Or maybe change cars out of their sight and they won't recognize you at a certain distance (someone mentioned it but I don't think it ever worked). Just hide in the train tunnels, subway tunnels underground, sewer tunnels, on the train flatbed car and wait for it to enter a long tunnel, in bushes (although, this doesn't always work, I wouldn't waste my time trying that), or fly high in the sky and/or out to sea and when a Maverick comes into site, quickly turn left or right so the 5 star wanted level will continue to blink instead of going solid again... I was entering the Subway tunnel near the Police Impound Garages in the city of Los Santos, and my Riot actually got lodged in between two metal pillars/beams as I was trying to escape the 5 star wanted level, and it took literally a good 10-15 minutes for me to actually get it unstuck. When you left the marked search area in GTA IV the police then had invisible cones (their line of sight) that you had to avoid until your stars expired or else you'd reset the search area. The main change in V is no longer having IV's arbitrarily large search areas, or at least not showing them on the radar anymore. Vec Posted March 9, 2014 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Today I robbed an armored car in online and got 3 stars and escaped in my Cavalcade...strange enough they didn't reach me and hit me from behind like they tend to do and managed to escape . Seriously. Wow. Mostly because the police AI still technically "follows" the player even when they are unaware of their position, allowing them to find you in some BS situations. Also, the magical nitro boost that police cars have that allows to the match the speed and ram into an upgraded super car also makes things difficult. How many cops have you got killed? i got 3,656 as franklin, 2,997 as trevor and like 600 as micheal since he's a family man. Im the one who chase cops when i see them, Attack on sight. I be attacking the police station all the time. I bet you din't know that if you blow up all the cars infroont of the station, a little tune plays, as it was ment for you to do that. Just that no one likes actually fighting the cops. Even if i die, i go back and attack, even escaping them is easy when i feel like escaping. Circle them around a block and creat a distraction in the middle then drive off. I learnd that from gta 4. I never kill innocents unless they get cought in the crossfires. I dont know if you realize but that fib drone makes me think they are alwasy watching you. Thats not the point though, The point is you have to take out as many cops as you can. Even then, if you would just pick a position, an empty road, clear out the cops, take out at least the chopper and you will have an escape for sure, but fight them. Stop by my thread for the challenge or share some police stories. We need more people like you to show an example that cops are nothing in this game if you are skilled. So let's say you rev your engine and you have a five star wanted level, Police will be swarming your location in just a couple of seconds. The radio also makes sound. I've managed to shoot in the backyard of a house in Mirror Park and Police was called there, so I got into stealth mode and jumped the fence to the house next door. Police only searched that part even though if they actually followed me they could climb the fences and get to me, however they didnt and so I quickly lost my wanted level and then they went back on patrol. Yea i need recording equipment. The greates fight i can say im proud of was when i started a fight with the police on the vespuccie canals and on foot with a 5 star wanted level, i went all the way to rockford hills just shooting and dodging and taking cover. It was fun when i made it to downtown because i was able to flank them and clear them out while i made my way north, on foot.It felt like straight up urban warfare. Rockford hills is fun aswell because of all the houses and backyards.But they finally cornered me when i was dealing with some cops and i forgot to look behind me and this one bastard cop took position on the roof and killed me.
