Just head to the mountains/hills and drive up it. Chances are the cops won't follow you. I found out about this since day one and I still don't know why people are still flipping about it

Just don't go onto the trails that are shown on the mini-map, they spawn above you and sometimes crash into you throwing you off the mountain. Sometimes they even drive off the mountain which is pretty funny.

Only at one or two stars. I've had cops f*cking launching over me and exploding when on chases in the hills lol

Exactly. I just drive straight up the Palomino Highlands and that loses them right quick

Just hide in a bush.

Yes only on one and two stars, but then when you have two helicopters on yo ass. ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO DRIVE UP A HILL TOO?

Fo real though. Driving up a hill with fours stars makes you slower, and you have a very small chance of escaping a helicopters vision.

The Jewlery Job tunnel. Go there and they won't follow you. And if they do, it's usually 2 or 3 cops on foot or one car that came full speed and ended jumping down. But after that they won't come anymore.

Also they don't seem to go past the tunnel that leads to the metro underground

I don't think anyone here is worried about a 1 or 2 star wanted level. They're easy to escape. 3+ is when you're screwed unless you can get to a few of the destinations for a guaranteed escape.

I don't understand the problem, it's like escaping them in IV. The only difference is that you can hide inside the circle now which makes it even easier. If I'm in Los Santos, I try to get through downtown, or drive under bridges and highways if there is a helicopter. All you have to do is keep making turns to shake the cops, and every once and a while go down a long road to pick up some speed, and take a sudden left or right and speed away to get away from the helicopter.

Not this thread, but this is getting pathetic now. I can't believe some people have run out of enough things to complain about, that they're blaming the game now when they're doing bad or screw up. Probably the same assholes who scream at you over the mic and send you angry messages in multiplayer. Get a f*cking grip.

In the city, they're easy to lose. In the desert, I have to drive up the hills and get rid of the helicopter. So it's a little harder out in the sticks but not too bad. Pigs in this game aren't a problem or a challenge for me.

In the city just set your waypoint for this tunnel and hide there. This is the tunnel you come out of during the jewel heist. I like to use this one because it's long and you can lose them even if they see you go in.

Yeah this is what I do as well. I've perfected the map so I don't even need to use my GPS anymore

And after 5 months and 1 day since GTAO release you're just now discovering the need to post this?

We have a police station on every mountain in San Andreas, so a police car will spawn near you if you try that. ;)

Doesn't switching cars while out of sight also work?

I noticed you become a greyed-out arrow on your mini-map, and cops can't detect you no matter how close you get into their cone of vision. As long as you switch out cars while completely out of their sight.

Or maybe they can detect you if you get too close in your car. Since, logically speaking, they could see your face. But darkened windows should be a counter to this. Then again, I doubt they paid as much attention to detail with the cops as they did with everything else.

It also shows up if you're in a bush, in SP only, of course.

This method works however I've found Police spawn out of nowhere in certain spots high up. e.g. Mount Chilliad

This right here. I had more problems with previous GTAs because I always try to think like real life. In GTA V I love seeing cops drive or walk right past me while I'm hiding. I just try to find a good hiding spot and it's actually more fun that way for me, and I lose my wanted levels much quicker.

Please enlighten me officer, how does your officers ALWAYS know where I'm hiding? Even if it's 20 streets away from where they lost sight of me?

Cops are better after the last update. Since that 1.11 update they're not in your face so much anymore.

In my game the cops arent magical, they have cone of sights and i always lose them by

1.hiding in the bush

2.LS Customs (which makes up for Pay 'n' Spray)

3.Changing Cars

4.Staying out of their sights

But Lol have 5 months of Playing GTA 5 you all should have get use to the Wanted System and LSPD Super Cops ;)

Why hissy fit? Driving a stolen Baller at two stars, or my Adder at three stars or more around the building right in front of Griefer's Palace until I get a chance to drive into the garage is fun!

One time, I was on foot in the Vinewood streets, bumped my wanted level up to 4 stars really quickly. The choppers were coming. I had destroyed the immediately local cops and had a chance to get off the street unseen, so I ran about 40 feet from my position.

I went behind an apartment building, ran up the stairs in the back to the second level, and hid under an overhang which was probably the walkway for the next floor. I plastered myself against the wall under there. Cops did search around the ground level area under me, but they didn't come up the stairs. I saw a chopper pass over looking for me, but its tail was to me, so it didn't see my position.

It was the best escape I've had, and the quickest eluding a 4 star wanted level, especially seeing as how it was completely on foot.

I've managed to lose the police on a 4 star chase by hiding in the parking lot by a police station, it isn't hard.
