Found a Race glitch (win race in solo)

So I am pretty crap at racing, which is why I want the upgrades at LSC to go faster, vicious circle. My online friends cant be coerced into race farming either :(

Ive found a small glitch that has earnt my turbo upgrade fairly quickly and on my way for everything else. and I didnt have to win many races against other users. Its a bit of a faff I know - but does work under the right conditions.

So if you do a race on your own (and win obviously) it doesnt count toward the LSC upgrades. But ive found a neat way to circumvent it.

Host & choose any race, get someone to join, you "persuade" them to leave but quickly start the race before they can, you win without anyone racing against you - it counts towards a LSC upgrade!

How do you persuade them?... You want to make the race as unapealing as possible so they leave for a better race/job.

Heres what I do, I usually choose a simple race (criminal records - nice and quick 30secondss just incase someone does stay to race) & 1 Lap only. Super cars.

I quickly change all the race settings to off (custom cars, slipstream, traffic, catchup) many racers will quit when they cant use there suped up adders/entittys.

You put matchmaking on, so you get people who may want to join a mission rather than a race so they quit aswell.

As soon as one person starts "Joining" get ready to press play as soon as they have Joined (dont wait for others).

You go to the car choice screen, choose the adder/entity/turismo quickly and ready at the next screen. Some people quit right there when their precious car is not waiting for them.

The race will start, with or without them and will count toward an upgrade win regardless. If they dont quit, just race (getting a turbo helps loads) as catchup is off, custom cars are off, slip streaming off and a simple circle you may even win anyway - even I have won a few - and Im ****.

I told you it was a faff, but it works for me.

HTH

^ This is pretty good. I was trying something like this where I would invite only one or 2 low levels from a session and then try to quickly start the race before a third player joins, or as soon as all but one player leaves. It worked only a couple of times, then I got no more joins, just empty lobbies.

One time, I joined a race and the host apparently went AFK and the join timer ran out, so the race started, but he just sat at the starting line. I did the laps and won, and then I went for replay, and he was still there as a ghost host, and so when the join timer ran out, I got to race and win again, the host still sitting there. On the third time however, since it was an open invite, some other asshole joined and of course he beat me, and then more people joined the next one, and that was the end of the ride.

But maybe if you can get someone you know to host a short one-lap private race (just you two, and no matchmaking) and ask them to rubber-band their controller and go off and do something useful with their real life for a couple of hours, you could farm this AFK-ghost-host mode for all the races you need. I might try that for my alt character.

I thought this was going to be about the payouts at first.

I've been playing solo races for a few hours and I've been getting double cash every time for some reason. Like it doesn't tell me the amount I'm actually getting.

For example it says I get $2500, but when I get back to free mode I have $5000 in my pocket. Its weird.

I can feel flame war in the distance, coming your way OP, be ready.

This is the very reason why I have never and will never leave a race. No matter how purposefully unappealing the host makes it, I'll be there to race with them.

oh i forgot one more thing, I usually run the race from an invite only session, otherwise you get too many people invited/joining at once.

and I am good at racing, just not on consoles

If you're a good racer, then you might as well win the race when they don't quit. :/

Good for gaining race wins, but if you want decent RP and money do it solo. You seem to make a LOT more RP and money doing it solo.

I'm glad it's not just me then, I've been getting double payout for the last 4 days, and not just for solo races. I win Long Haul and got 20k, went to free mode and had 40k to bank..... Edited by Peaches84

well, now i know why i once was in a race that led to a jump trap; you'd jump and be caught inside walls of ramps and obstacles, only to then realize that the checkpoint would have led around that trap. by that time there' was no use in respawning outside, as the guy who tricked me was already far in the lead.

and i thought that was just some random asshatery. would have to respect the planning, but the reason is just f*cking cheap. i'm no great racer, but it took me maybe 2 weeks to unlock everything, and guess what? i got a lot better at racing in that time, and i had a sh*tload of fun.

Could the payout be due to the weekend event? or has it been doing it since 1.11?

I don't race often, I can zip through traffic and evade like crazy, I just don't enjoy racing (except GTA races).

It's not always a matter of being a good racer.

I win the majority of my races but i don't like racing to unlock all the mods for my first char i did it the way your suppose to win races to unlock your mods but i don't feel like having to do 40 more races to unlock everything for my 2nd char.

I'm a good racer i just don't like to race

^Indeed, Increased Race payouts during the Online Event Weekend.

I thought that was air races though? These are land races I'm doing.

Land races just have boosted RP I think.

Did they patch this? I just tried it, and the wins did not count. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sure, but a guaranteed way to get wins is to make a gta race which has a cliff right before the finish, so that you will just destroy your car every time you try to make the jump.

You will be able to jump out and use a parachute to safely reach the finish if you know that secret, counting as a win.

A good cliff would be bythe creek on the north west part of the map, placing the finish on the other side of the river
