Seriously, every thread now has a couple of hipsters jump in and comment with a witty (sarcasm) "Never seen this thread before" genius remark. We get it. There are thousands of threads, I expect most GTA related things have been discussed over and over but you know what - it doesn't stop them being discussed again, or by new people who never saw the same thread, or for whom the search function didn't find the same title etc.

So you rather see thousands of duplicate threads, than to see a couple smart-ass post in a single thread? I'm not sure if I see the logic in that, but ok.

 

How about you be original and just not comment if you've seen it before? Better still don't even click on the thread and save yourself the inner turmoil. You're not cool, you're not special, well maybe you are in the window-licking sense. You're not telling anyone anything we don't know, we all see these same threads too except some of us either continue the discussion again or not comment rather than jump in with our superiority complex.

 

 

You state how unoriginal people who post "never seen this thread before" are, yet you start a thread complaining about others complaining, congratulations. If we all see the same threads, like you said, then you're just contradicting yourself in the same post and there is no need to make duplicate threads to ask the same stupid questions(questions that nave been asked and answered). Not everyone has a superiority complex either, some just can't let idiocy go unchecked. Seems to me that your "special" in a "window-licking sense".

 

P.S. No one will take you seriously if you insult your reader base throughout your whole post.

I started this thread because I'd seen no-one mention this ever-increasing phenomena of thread-crapping by saying you've seen it before - but I think even if a topic is repeated it re-starts a fresh conversation. Do you really think a single front page with every topic condensed down to threads of hundreds of pages that no-one would ever read through is better? I think it's ok to keep the forum alive and moving even if some things are covered many times, if it upsets someone they should dig out the original and post in that to bump it back up if it bothers them that much.

 

I started this thread in a slightly tongue-in-cheek way but also out of annoyance of seeing the same comment over and over in every front page thread, and it's still continuing.

the fact shield see's no problem with this thread is a prime example of the the IQ level of 90% of the mods here..Sometimes i wonder what the requirements are to become a mod here..

 

1..have to be between 12-15

2...have to have a jaded point of view

The question being asked repeatedly sometimes has merit, the search tool (if indeed used) doesn't always come up with the exact terms you're using for the same topic or perhaps the person looks through the first few pages (far more likely) and doesn't see the same topic - the boards move fast. Occasionally the poster is just lazy but then if it annoys people they don't have to answer and it'll soon disappear a few pages later. Either way a snarky, sarcastic comment is often unwarranted and creates an unfriendly air to the forum (of a game which admittedly is about stealing, shooting people and generally being an asshole so also understandable at times).

 

People just going into threads which they've seen before and saying "Seen this before" adds absolutely nothing and is just wholly negative.

Apologies for finding the discussion interesting. Perhaps instead of complaining about a thread complaining about complainers, you could contribute constructively to the conversation. Why is it you seem to be the only one trying to goad the other members into a flame war?

The majority of threads are pretty useless really. It's an online forum about a video game. Ukraine and Russia are on the verge of war, floods have wrecked many homes in Britain, kids are still starving and have AIDS in Africa and Oscar Pistorius is on trial for shooting his hot girlfriend to death. There are many other more important things to talk about if we look at it, there is the occasional post here with merit and maybe a genuinely useful point but is showing your car off in the huge "Rate my Car" thread or moaning that you can't shoot a make-believe tank with your make-believe sniper rifle any more really of use to anyone?

Oh I'm not mad. I'm happily killing time until I finish work in 15 minutes and then I'll go home and probably put GTA on and play it until the Mrs gets home... But it's nice to chat with people in the meantime.

Shield, no offense but im pretty sure your 14 because of that comment..Your putting the blame on posters not on the OP, in his thread he posted his garage, he complained, and both of those have THREADS where you can post this..So please inform me when it became allowed to do that? we have a pinned thread for garages, we have a thread solely to complain in..So, why is this thread still here?

I use it because I'm a big fan from the Prince of Bel Air series. And that DEAL WITH IT with double sunglasses are epic.
