Is there even any point in me playing this game anymore?

So I have some mental problems, one of them includes existential anxiety. When I run out of things to do, I panic.....it seems I've run out of things , both on GTAO and in real life.

I know people say it's funner with friends, but my friends are somehow way busier than I am.

I've made some friends online, but since I have social anxiety, I can never really get myself to invite them to a game, or use my mic.

I just got fired not too long ago, I'm taking a break from school because of "mental probems". My computer is under maintenance and my meds aren't coming in until sometime next week---there's really nothing I can do until then.....

You can try exercising, finding a new hobby(I love paintball), if you have a console find a new game to play, try to find another job, just try to go out and do stuff and overcome your anxiety.

How bad are You on not doing anything?

Try improving on it. Do nothing for a moment.

Take a look inside and listen to yourself, it's good change for being busy all the time.

Reading is good for head too.

I think that's a lot better than being chronically lazy and not getting anything done at all... but I can also see why that's scary when you do think you've run out of things to do. You just need to think outside the box and realize the possibilities are endless! You could literally do anything. Maybe try joining a sports team and improving on your athletic and competitive skills. You could also take up classes for things such as archery, pottery, drawing, self-defence/fighting, or go out and take classes for your first aid and other things that would be good to have on your resume and go job hunting. You could also try learning a new instrument or going around the community and helping out as much as possible. In the end, I think you'll find something to do. :) Don't give up.

I like how you're having an existential criss in GTA Online. Like "what is the point of virtually getting out of my virtual bed every virtual morning and going through the virtual rat race."

OP is off his meds. As we are not licensed health care providers (at least I am not anymore) there is little that we can do short of offering support.

I am a pussy lover and pussy loves me.

I bring nothing to society

See, this is your problem. You can't think like that. You have to start thinking about the things that you want. That the world owes you! What has society ever done for you anyway? Fed, clothed, sheltered and protected you, sure, but only because they wanted something in return. And if they trusted a sly fox like you, they deserve what they get, right? As if you're gonna be all "thanks for raising me, pumping me full of high fructose corn syrup, blasting advertisements in my face and telling me I'm inherently worthless because I'm not a varsity athlete, now it's off to design the new iPhone!" Get real. Because guys like me? The square jawed, trendy lads who've always been told we're geniuses because we memorised big words? We're all about banging your girlfriend, abusing you as you serve us our burger, then laughing straight to the bank while giving you the finger, and you're worried you aren't giving us enough!? Are you mad?!.

Enjoy the drugs and the free time, is what I'm saying.

I never got the transition from soldier to civilian like most people do after their 4 years.... so it's still embedded in my personality. Instead I rotted away in Walter Reid with other wounded soldiers hating life. I know all about mental problems, and OP is full of sh*t. If his anxiety was that bad, he would be scared of any response left here, let alone have the courage to ask for help from randoms. Being judged is a huge part of anxiety, which is why people go to professionals with disclosure agreements. Not ask people on a forum based off one of the most insane games ever made....

If anything, OP should seek advice from family, or the friends he claims to have outside of his online anxiety. Real friends will listen to your problems, and professionals will help you identify ways to live with those problems.

It sounds OP is more bored than ill. His topic bounces from his claimed illness to looking for friends to play GTAO with and suggestions of what to do next....

Anxiety is very common - but so is boredom, not having a job, and playing too many video games.

If you are medication dependent, why would you have to wait a week for more meds? That means you have abused them and took too many too fast. No doctor would write a prescription that would leave a patient without meds for a week without seeing them first. He should go there, before here. And I seriously doubt a doctor would advise to quit school due to mental problems.

He should use that week to get a job, instead of saying "there is nothing I can do". If he had a job and got fired, what were the reasons? and why can he not go find another job all the sudden due to his anxiety which he must have had before he obtained his original job? which also ties in to why would you abuse medication if you know you had to get a job asap. How does he pay bills?

back to the family part I mentioned earlier..... talk to them, not us.

Okay, let me explain myself.

I've been diagnosed with:

Manic depressive with psychotic features ( stemming from being bullied for five years throughout grade school and never having the guts to stand up for myself, seeing my friends abandon me as soon as I showed them how weak I was)

ADHD

SOCIAL anxiety

http://www.socialphobiaworld.com/talking-over-xbox-live-33154/

And clinical depression.

I got fired because I gave the manager's number to a girl who wanted a job there, another couple wanted her number for special reservations, and someone hid these papers from me I was supposed to write certain information on- that was three write ups, the funny thing is, I had gotten a 91% on an employee evalution and an 8%raise the day before I got fired- it's like this was all planned out.

Until I'm not a "ticking time bomb" anymore, I really have nothing to do until I get my FIRST official meds next week.

I would apply for a job, if I didn't break my computer. It's under maintenance and should be on the way soon.

I made the choice to withdraw from my classes because there were triggers on campus. The gasoline from the gas stations, a lighter, I could've freed myself there.

I have problems opening up to people, talking to some random who'll leave me alone in the next 5-10 minutes, that's fine, it's when I have to open up to people during conversation. During anonymous texting I can take as long as I want to make sure I say the right thing. Back on campus, when one of my friends introduced me to one of their friends, I'd get really sweaty and have problems breathing, and I'd also look around everywhere else besides that new person.

Hypothetically, I should be ready to get back in the real world once I'm on my official meds next week. I keep forgetting things will get better.

Triggers....

OMG, I just went to the doctor and I was diagnosed with a massive lag in my feet.

My time is coming guys, it's coming... it came.

Hey Xavierr, if you want someone to play GTA V with, I'm up for it. :)
No need to plug in your mic if you don't feel like it. I mostly do hill climbing in trucks, take on the cops while on the train and generally be a bad-ass. So if you're on 360 just send me a private message.

There is a completely different feeling to anonymously typing something into a website and a face to face conversation. The main point of social anxiety is a complete fear of negative repercussions from the person to whom you are talking. People go to professionals because they are trusted, a person with social anxiety will probably still feel terrified to talk to a psychiatrist and I can imagine many would shirk it if they had to go to a different place, hence why many social anxiety cases are done in the person's home.

Want to get your life together?

Ok, sell all your video game stuff. Buy a metal detector, price is an issue here, so I hope you get a good amount from all that gaming crap you own. The more you spend the better. I prefer the ACE GARRET PRO metal detector. Now go out there and find all the old coins and jewelry you can. Sell that sh*t off and then you will have a worthwhile hobby.

You need to get off the wrong drugs and on the right ones. I suggest salvia for a start.

You seem to have no problems on the forums here, you should be fine in an online gaming community.

You don't need a mic to play a game.

Anxiety doesn't have to be shown in an equal way for everyone. Some people can try to hide it, others can't. Others are aggressive, others aren't. For someone with PTSD (so you say ;)) you're being quite cold-hearted. I also suffer from anxiety and have a few depressive tendencies, it doesn't mean that I act like the person "next to me" that has the exact same thing, and I've been with a lot of people with worser things. It's not linear, it's always different. How do you know he's not feeling anything when reading the answers here? He's just writing, anxiety panic can sometimes be hidden through the Internet and be absolutely explosive outside it.

I might sound defensive but as someone with a lot of respect for people with mental disorders, having known a few people with bipolar disorders and what not (including a special person) and having anxiety myself, I find this attitude some people have towards disorders really disgusting.

OT: Sorry for your diagnosis, my anxiety also stemmed from bullying a few years ago, I already had it since I was a child, but it just got worse and worse. I feel you, but what is important here is that even when you have nothing to do... Do something! Random things on your computer, browsing the Internet even for no reason, listening to music all day, playing more games on your console or PC, even when you don't have anyone, watching movies. Hell, sometimes not even I know what am I doing, I just... do things to distract myself from thoughts.
