Do NPC's swerve into you?

I don't know if it's just me but I tend to notice that if I have 3 or more stars and am fleeing the police, it seems as if the NPC drivers swerve into me to aid the police.

Anyone else notice this? It can get pretty annoying especially if you're gaining speed and about to leave their line of sight.

Even IRL people get in my way as I'm fleeing the cops.

Yes, even in the flippin' "turn this way only" lanes. It's like they have a death wish.

Tabula Rasa

I think its because they only recently spawned within proximity and will naturally be meeting you at any intersecting roads; they are panicked so they accelerate greatly. Spawns are more sudden with your added speed, so this might potentially explain the increase in intersecting drivers in a few circumstances; I tend to check intersections, let off the gas and pass cars on the back side so I avoid getting t-boned.

Close quarters a**holes are a pain though; some drivers do the most ridiculous things when I'm wanted.

If you do Rooftop Rumble its almost like the NPCs are deliberately trying to cut in to your path.

It's good practice for races.

Mainly when you're delivering a Simeon export vehicle.

My pet hate is when you're rolling down that two lane straight road/bridge/pass that leads to the gates to the docks where you deliver the Simeon vehicles. Both lanes go to the same place ...why the f*ck do you need to change lanes?

I have not noticed this, I have noticed them changing lanes, or turning. but not deliberately. Its the same weather or not I have a wanted level or am doing a mission.

you are just more focused on it and think its deliberate since you are focused on getting away from something, or on a mission. So when someone cuts in your path, you will remember it more than if you were just screwing around.

Sir Michael

OMG, this happens all the time in Weazel to Weazel. For some reason, all of the A.I want to perform a U-Turn on the freeway before the tunnel. WTF is that??

Happens all the damn time. I swear I've been ran over and killed by random NPC's more often than other players! You're driving away from cops? Cars will pull out of other streets on the side of the road you're currently driving on JUST as you go by, so you end up hitting them. Cars often swerve into you, etc.

The traffic in RR is just hell. I crash at least 3 times because of this.

It's especially bad near Madrazo's. You've picked a break and turn in point, then bam, car has moved to the other side of the road. No time to react, you're left in someone's drive/garden.

It's by design.

I routinely drive like a batouttahell between Richards Majestic and the golf course. About 8 times out of 10 there's a vehicle entering the first intersection from the right just as I blow through and on the times when it doesn't spawn there are other predictable traffic issues that occur.

I've seen other patterns similar to that in other areas of the game. For example, I was buzzing up and down the Senora freeway near Sandy Shores a while back trying to get a specific vehicle to spawn and there was a spot just north of the big interchange at Route 68 where each time as I closed on it a vehicle would spawn and pull out in front of me.

It's set up to seem random but there's not much that's truly random where programming is concerned.

I've only noticed this around police stations. I always thought it was off duty cops going to/leaving work.

No, it's definately true. Go play Rooftop Rumble twice. First time, kill all the guys that come after you before you go deliver the package. They´ll drive normally. Second time, have the guys chase you. You will notice very clearly that the NPC's are purposefully getting in your way. I didn't believe it at first either, but when you pay attention to it there's no doubt about it.

PS: This is why I use a Merryweather helicopter for Rooftop Rumble. f*ck getting trolled by NPC's.

This is exactly why, you kill NPC's. f*cking bastards always f*cking up my clean getaways whenever they have a chance. This is why you burn the bodies so you send a message to the rest of these Los Santos residents that want to get in the way.

The best is the NPCs that sacrifice their lives to smash into your car at a high speed, just to inconvenience you.

The AI needs some work.

Truth. I had a car come to a screeching halt adjacent to me then reverse it's way into my path as I'm barreling down the road with an SUV in pursuit...

That wouldn't be so bad if our cars could actually push theirs out of the way. I don't understand why they can easy push ours from a dead stop, but a fully upgraded car can't even budge them.
