What is Rockstar's logic?

 

"Three celebrations have been added to Online – Dock, Knuckle Crunch, and Air Thrusting."

 

- These animations are fully formed, each with 2 variations (a normal one and a more complex one for pvp job victories), and would take a significant amount of time (& therefore money) to animate, but do not impact gameplay.

 

"A number of vehicles have been added back to vehicles that can be stored in player garages: Karin Rebel (Clean), Beater Albany Emperor, Bravado Bison versions, Bravado Rumpo, Vapid Speedo, Canis Seminole"

-(but no Ponys or Burritos, since they have cool looking accessories and liveries, and we wouldn't want anyone to be attracted to anything other than a sports car now would we?)

 

- The Bravado Bison versions, Bravado Rumpo and Vapid Speedo still cannot be driven into player garages, and the only 'modifications' available in LSC are explosives and tracker/insurance. Additionally on social club, it says the speedo in my garage is a paradise. The Rumpo and Speedo DO effect gameplay, as players can shoot heavy weapons out of (without being exposed to fire and getting knocked off on the side like the granger and roosevelt) them. because of this, and the large area of cover a van provides, it would be perfect for missions... if we could only do the same upgrades to them that we can do to every other car, (Armour, BP tyres, Turbo etc.)

Allowing us to modify these vans would take almost NO TIME OR MONEY on rockstar's account, yet they still don't bother to do it!

 

 

Also of note is that

1- the terrible vehicle spawning system: I spend several hours just to find a van, yet In reality they are one of the most common vehicles on the road in any part of the world.

2-The 'Business' update contains the most impractical vehicles possible for a business or criminal outfit to own.

 

TLDR = rockstar cares more about new jerking animations than allowing players to have the freedom to use things that are already fully developed and in the game.

I pesonally appreciate the amount of time, effort and money put into those animations: they called in the motion capture guy. rented the CGI studio for a day. got the cameras out. Sent the animation team over there. Processed it in post. Tweaked it in animation and art direction. Sent it to project lead for approval. Spent 3-4 weeks in QA. Beta'd it for a month. Bundled it in 1.11 and got it out for us to enjoy.

This is what gets me the most with all the DLC they keep putting out. They wasted a whole bunch of money and development resources in misplaced content in the DLC.

 

Like giving us new clothes my char will likely never have the need to wear. Because as an immersion RPG type of gamer, I HAVE NO f*ckING REASON TO WEAR THEM SINCE MY CHAR STILL CAN'T OWN MULTIPLE BUSINESS PROPERTIES. OR SAFE HOUSES FOR THAT MATTER, TO SHOW HOW HE'S MOVING UP IN THE WORLD. OR THE FACT HE CAN'T EVEN HAVE BRAGGING RIGHTS TO THE NEW VEHICLES BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH GARAGE SPACE TO f*ckING STORE THEM IN.

 

Like giving us new hair styles which don't do sh*t to improve my char's combat skills, how he successfully grinds missions, DMs, races, etc. or affect how he does things in FM. This is especially true of my new, 2nd female char. Who I specially created to get the custom female clothing from Valentine Day DLC. So those 2 new hair styles don't do sh*t in helping her develop her n00b combat skills either. Because R* managed yet again to f*ck UP EXISTING DLC WITH THE NEW CONTENT. NOW MY FEMALE CHAR HAS LOST THE ABILITY TO WEAR HER UNIQUE (AND VERY $$$$$) FLAPPER HAIRSTYLE.

 

Like giving us new weapons. WHICH PISS ME OFF PERSONALLY BECAUSE THEY'VE CAUSED BOTH MY CHARS TO PERMANENTLY LOSE THEIR VERY EFFICIENT VALENTINE'S DAY TOMMY GUNS IN THE WEAPON SLOT. And I seriously doubt if this one, single, most practical piece of DLC will be making its way back into my GTAO game anytime in the future. I'd take the Tommy gun over a dozen maxed out supers or new planes anytime...

 

Like giving us yet another worthless plane to fly which has no tactical weapon or mission functionality. And especially when it's going to gather dust at Pegasus's magic garage, because AT LEAST HALF THE GTA PLAYER COMMUNITY CAN'T FLY FOR sh*t--BECAUSE THEY'RE OBSESSED WITH DRIVING EVEN sh*tTIER.

 

Like adding more worthless tattoos -- just like those face masks--instead of IMPROVING ON THE INTERACTIVE FUNCTIONALITY OF EXISTING CONTENT IN THE GAME. Like adding the OBVIOUS ability TO BUY WEED AND DRUGS FROM SMOKE ON THE WATER. Just like how it's suggested when you sometimes switch over to Franklin in SP. WHY ISN'T THIS STORE 100% FUNCTIONAL IN GTAO FFS? Why can't you buy drugs off peds at the beach or in the hood etc. etc.

 

Like making the arcade games or ping pong table at the beach pier ACTUALLY FUNCTIONAL so players can use them. Or adding a convenience store shop menu to some of the stores on the pier. So you can buy beach specific clothing, or items. What would've made adding all the new content like masks etc worthwhile, was allowing us to buy say the new masks at a storefront on the beach pier.

 

We get all this new content stuff, yet still have a long overdue ability to add interiors--assuming this is even remotely possible in a patch at this point. I'd take the ability to enter at least one clothing, food, or even coffee house---and actually buy sh*t in that store--over all the superficial shiny stuff that came with this DLC so far.

 

Like adding worthless game play mechanics--- aka new jerk off animations--- to the game. But not a fix for those WTF IS UP WITH THOSE VENDOR-LESS HOT DOG STANDS EVERYWHERE SINCE GAME LAUNCH ON THE f*ckING MAP??? GTA IV had not dog vendors. SA had hot dog vendors. But yet this feature is STILL an exact impossibility for R* in GTA V.
