Everyone at the same time playing in one lobby even if it were possible I doubt there would even be enough room on the map. Nobody would ever get into LSC, there would just be way too many people to do anything remotely fun other than gun battles.

16 people worked on IV because 9/10 it would make you spawn in a certain area (the airport being the main one), so there was a lot more player interaction. The only negative of that was that it was pretty much a free-roam deathmatch.

 

I don't know if it's just me, but the free-roam in V just seems so dull and empty due to the size of the map and the way you can spawn anywhere, I just get the impression that it's meant to have a lot more than 16 players. That being said, I much prefer the system with V.

 

They should add a 'Traditional Multiplayer' mode, the airport in V looks like it would be great for IV style multiplayer.

Absolutely impossible. Hell, there's probably not enough room on the map for it to happen. It's a really fun thought, though. I'm hoping if it comes to the new console generation they can fit at least double the amount of players in one session than they can now.

its posible if its zone but wouldnt ahppen for a while even now the servers arent 100% stable. however, I could see a 32 person server for PC version or even a 32 person for PS4/XBOX1...

yes, with a single map the nukes and tank shifts become all the more important.

 

roll out ten tanks through vinewood LSC clearing out the street and herding 200 players in the area in front of the shopping mall. one tank for each side street. meanwhile 3 others are loading up the titans with nukes from Lester and proceed to fly over. all of a suddent the 200 look around and the tanks are retreating and think lockdown is over for the day. you get on the mike and say "Look Up" and 3 nukes are being dropped on their heads:

 

 

 

 

Can you imagine how many tanks there would be?

 

I alone could get about 40 tanks together..

The other problem being that people always stick to a certain place; they're either...

• Fighting in downtown (hence I avoid it)
• At the Airport stealing planes only to kill each other
• Trying to get in Fort Zancudo
• Killing each other to steal a plane at Sandy Shores Airfield
• On top of Mount Chilliad for giggles
• Up in the air and having a dogfight

So it's not just the map that's the problem. If it had more players (i.e. 32–50), it wouldn't feel so barren, so I agree. There's so much to do and see all over the map, yet players can't utilise it for sh*t. I usually hang out the countryside to avoid the battles because Los Santos is a war haven, which, if you think about it, LA kinda is so GTA V's getting the realism somewhat right. O.o

 

I think when Heists will come out, since there are banks outside the city and in the small towns, people will spread out and there's always something to do or see, and hopefully make it feel less empty.

Keep dreaming. I can make a big bet nukes are never, ever, ever, going to be part of the Online GTA experience. And it's not lack of creative thinking either; WMDs are such an easy cop out.

 

EDIT: and it would be a game killer at the same time. There would be a lot less players playing GTAO than there is now if it were to happen.
