Spectator bug

So last night I was messing around and found a weird bug. My friends were racing so I joined their game and since they were on an active race I went into spectator mode. However for some reason after watching the guy who was in first for a few minutes I was able to spawn my character into their race and I spawned at the location where the car I was spectating was at that point in time in the race.

 

1. I'm invisible and invincible.

2. I can't walk around but I can look around.

3. I can't punch and I can select any weapon I want but so far only the grenades seemed to work.

 

Not really anything game breaking but it was amusing tossing nades at the people that were passing by me which was a bit weird cause it wasn't a GTA race.

Yep had this happen to me couple times since the new update. Except it was doing a mission, I had died and had no lives left but respawned and couldn't move but look around. Tho the npc could still kill me.

i had this happen as well, but i was in free roam, watching people through the tv in the garage, but same exact thing happened, got frozen in place while watching, could use a weapon, couldn't move/melee, and was invisible/invincible to police

If you in AA lobby you can auto aim and shoot everyone with any gun

ive had this happen to me also just after the 1.10 update.. except it was a deathmatch

 

i killed one guy before quickly leaving so i didnt get someone reporting..

Happens to me a TON on the new Maze bank survival.

 

Not quiet the same but I think it's the same bug. I "spawn" in first person but can't do anything. The game also says "Jyra is an asshole AFKing, kick him please". No one has attempted to kick me yet because the 90% of the time I don't die I carry the team.

this has happened to me twice in RR. after dying, i start spectating another player, then after a while it reverts to a camera view showing the start point of the mission, im able to select any weapon and start shooting but that's about it.

Happened to me a few times while spectating races as well. The best thing about it is I actually got a nice amount of cash for it as well. One race I joined ended a few seconds after I started spectating and it paid me 14,000 for what amounted to 10 seconds in total.

 

If you find yourself stuck in this glitch you can actually just press 'start' and find a new session.

Yeah that's what I had to do ultimately but at the time I was trying to join some friends so I didn't want to leave lol.

I get this a lot too. I had it once where i ended up in the beach area with no guns and no money just a pistol but luckily after a reboot i appeared in my appartament back to normal!

Happened to me a few times race spectating, I could use all my weapons but it would occasionally not let me shoot or trigger aim, once in a race with wanted level on, cops started swarming and I had some fun for like 10 minutes, got bored and exited with the find a new session...

But, this just happened again so I decided to play around with other options, , opened the quick menu and killed myself, actually died, dark screen, then nothing... Waited about 2 minutes and the screen came back bright but I couldn't do anything, not look around, pause, quick menu, nothing at all, but phone calls and invites were still popping up, had to go back to the dashboard and restart the game

 

So, as a disclaimer, kids, don't kill yourselves

Even weirder, upon restarting, I spawned in my apartment, even though "last location" is selected and I was out in the map before spectating, and, it gave me $5100

This bug is still occurring after patch 1.12. Happened to me personally after dying in Chemical Extraction. After dying, I was watching my teammate in spectator mode when suddenly the screen faded to black as if he had died, but he didn't. I respawned where I had died, invisible and slightly up in the air, in full control of my weapon wheel, and despite not being able to see said weapon wheel I could use all of my weapons.

 

On another occasion I witnessed a spectator join our instance of The Los Santos Connection. This person proceeded to shoot and destroy my personal vehicle. The game showed me the standard alert telling me this player had paid the full insurance for my destroyed vehicle, yet when I called Mors Mutual I was still forced to pay a fraction of the insurance. Edit: He was a low-level character, not sure which level, but definitely lower than 10, so this is likely the logical explanation of why I was forced to pay the remaining insurance. Hope my tricked out Turismo R sapped his entire bank account dry.

 

This bug definitely has the potential to be exploited for the purpose of griefing. Players will figure out how to replicate it on demand and this glitch will become common knowledge in due time. I highly suggest vote kicking all spectators from your jobs until this issue is resolved.
