The Mercenaries are crap

They cant chase ANYONE in a car

They are not ruthless enough

 

They're success rate on anyone above level 50 is close to 0

 

 

They should be patched, make them good or give me back my $7500

I've had them used on me effectively before. They serve as a good distraction while you do the killing, it seems.

The least they could do is remove the warning someone receives when mercenaries are send after them.
Would add a big element of surprise like the mugger.

Good source for the Off Road Mesa. Beyond that, a good distraction to kill someone with. I find the airstrike to be a bigger waste of money.

70% of the time they don't even come after the person I sent them and when he dies from another random source I get a message saying they did their job which is absolute BULLsh*t.

 

Merryweather services are useless, besides the helicopter pickup.

mercs are useful in slowing someone down. You cannot rely on one group of four NPC's to do your dirty work for you.... even if they keep coming, it's too easy to outrun them.

you have to wait until that other player thinks they are alone, and stops moving so much. then go off the radar right after you call them.

Technically you pay them to kill the target, if they kill the target and call you saying he's dead it's not like they're lying.

 

Although it is kind of annoying, the mercs are just there to distract people as everyone in this thread has said.

Yes. The message on screen should say. "Some guys are coming to deliver a nice new 4X4 for your collection". Waste of money.

They are useless against players at rank 5 with just a pistol.

They are the sh***est drivers, one coming after rammed right into a wall and blew up instantly, and most of the others just roll over or hit an indestructible lampost

 

IMO Mercs should include a helicopter to chase (same as the helicopter backup, no rockets, just guys on the side)

The first couple months online was out they were a force to be feared, now..just join a job and come back and you waste the guy's money..the one who called them and they don't go after you.

Interesting idea. If it ever happened, i'd hope it'd at least have an hour of real life time cool down for the person who used it, and could only be used by another person once the previous 10 minutes were finished so it wouldn't be spammed on everyone in the server.

They're effective on the free way that's for sure. They constantly drive head on with you and power steer into you. They also use magic auto aim that destroys your health. Still, they need an upgrade. Maybe they should throw in a tank so they can be sent to tank players? That would be nice.

Or, give them a Mesa Off-Road with a mounted gun in the back that they can use (If this is made then let it be bought off warstock and stored by Pegasus, and even then, players would need a second person to shoot the gun)

When I'm on the run and get merc. sent after me I usally commit suicide by some method that is not the "kill youself" option.

heli pick up is useless when 1. he never shows up 2. when he stays hovering above you and leaves after a while

They should replace them with them with the guys in SUVs who chase after you in Rooftop Rumble. Then I'd be happy to spend my cash on them knowing that the dude who I sent them to will be dead within 30 seconds

The worst part is once you send the mercenaries after someone, and another player or even the police kill the target of my mercenary attack, they consider that "a job well done" and still take my 7,500$ as if they killed the target...

 

If the mercenaries cant complete the job themselves, you should be refunded the money, plain and simple.

They are next to worthless in Auto Aim. Due to auto aim...

 

In free aim, they will take players out pretty fast unless they are ready for a fight or a chase.
