GTA Online is Unplayable for Me

Having a very frustrating time, wondering if anyone here had this issue and figured out how to fix it.

 

So basically in any solo or private, invite only session, the game freezes within a couple minutes, every time.

 

Taking it online to public lobbies makes things... A bit weird. Firstly, the map stops loading up, or at best gets very blurry with some extremely low resolution textures. Next,everything stops spawning in, including other characters, whom I can still interact with by going up to their dots on the map (only thing visible), but they cannot see nor interact with me or at least my dot.

 

At this point I can actually run other players over even if they are in their cars, they will just pop out of nowhere, fly off the car, roll a sec, then disappear.

 

Finally, going into a property, interacting with any shop, and hitting the start button at this stage all cause a freeze.

 

I've been trying like crazy to fix this, PS3 system so that means clearing cache, rebuilding database, deleting and reinstalling the game data... Everything short of full on factory resetting everything.

 

Anyone, anywhere, can offer me some help on this? I've been dying to try this business update.

 

(And sorry to those who thought this was a rant post about the new update. No drama to be found here.)

serious though, is the ps3 in a well ventilated area? are the vents on it free and clear of dust and debris?

Also try blowing on the game cartridge. Sometimes little flecks of dust get inside the cracks.

I think these are network related issues and the game isn't dealing with it very well.

I have issues like this when my router goes on the fritz (once every few weeks), a reboot and staring at it with a grumpy face usually fixes that.

Try to set Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4

The network thing is new, I'll try that now. Highly doubt it's a speed issue considering everything else works fine internet wise, except GTA.

 

Uhh.. PS3 is just fine when it comes to dust and what not. Not a child here. Or mentally challenged.

If this is a new, current problem it may be related to the fact that the social club is having a total meltdown right now. Chrome got in but crashed, other browsers give blank screens and error messages. So I suspect that r* are having nightmare scale server issues at the moment. Fairly typical around event weekends sadly.

 

If its a longer term problem I dunno, but it sure sounds networky to me...

I experienced my first ever total console freeze whilst playing gtao last night. Definitely not just you. Also, when in my garage and spying on other players on my tv, the camera would sometimes just sort of detach from the player and hang in the air. I could look around but not move, not interact, not return to my garage. All I could do was load up a job or join a new session.

Yea more people are having this problem. I have it too since the new update came through... my best guess is its a problem on rockstars end. And i mean by that, that the update may be buggy in some way that it messes up gta v and online entirely. Its not the fault of our ps3 bcuz it would be really weird if so many ps3 acted up all on the same time lol.

My game on Xbox randomly crashes either after a few hours or 10 mins, mainly solo mode. Happened more since 1.09. Also, anyone notice that since the last patch npcs don't cross the road or use road crossings anymore Online. Ruins immersion

ive had this and also if im watching people on tv all of a sudden im out on the street hovering a metre or 2 above the street and can only use the phone
