How much of a difference does 100% armor make?

I'm currently Level 97 and have 60% armor on 8 of my cars (my new Turismo and Jester don't have any armor yet). When I hit Level 80 I decided to skip armoring my garage and save the money for when I got to Level 100 for 100% armor. The thing is, 60% armor has done pretty well for me. My cars do get banged up over time, but I've never had one destroyed except by random sticky bomb griefers. And once I return to my garage it's fixed up thanks for my (underappreciated) mechanic. For those with 100% armor, is there much functional difference or is it mainly for cosmetic purposes?

It will cost me $500,000.00 to buy full armor for all 10 of my cars, not sure if it's worth it so feedback is welcome.

Ummmm......having 100% armour increases the amount of damage that your car can take before being destroyed by......100%.

So if you go from having 60% to 100%...you can do the math.

Totally worth it, even if you do it just to save from deformation.

or you could find a car with a nice rollcage

A Maned Wolf

100% helps stops almost all low-to-medium crash deformation, and for off-road vehicles with exposed axles (Rebel, Sandking) helps keep the axles straight after crashes.

Mainly this, Nothing worse than having a bent wheel and cant turn worth a f*ck

It's significant and pretty unfair actually. You can throw a car down Mt Chilliad, all bumps, rolls and crashes included and when you're at the foot of the mountain you may have some broken windows and short a hood and that's about it.

Well OP if you have 60% armor and wondering how much better is 100% armor . . . I would say it's about 40% better . . . give or take.

If only 100% armour made your head/tail lights undamaged then I wouldn't be going back to LSC to fix it every damn 5 minutes. Idk about you but I can't stand driving the car at night when one of my headlights isn't working!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does just 20% armor prevent vehicle frame deformation?

get to 75 and RR your way to 100. pretty fast and easy and you'll get more than enough money for armor. it's worth it.

does it really keep the shape of the vehicle at 100% ?¿

It's well worth it. I have 100% armor on all my cars(Yes, I hacked iFruit to get 100% armor on all my cars even though i'm only level 56), and it really helps against crashes. My headlights and taillights on my Entity almost never break with 100% armor(windows do though), and the car can take a lot of bullets before starting to smoke. And it's never lost a wheel or not been able to turn after I put 100% armor on it.

So my point is, yes it is completely worth it. Makes your car 40% stronger, which could really help sometimes. Heck, if you can, you should try hacking the iFruit app too to get it before reaching level 100. :D

SaturdayNight

A car's chance of exploding drops significantly, I like adding only 60% personally.

Lol, thanks for the feedback guys. Yes, doing the math I can tell that it's 40% stronger but what I was unsuccessfully trying to explain and ask in my OP was that my vehicles don't really explode or deform that much at 60% so was 100% really that much of a difference.

Thanks to those that gave examples of your experience at 100% though. Guess I'll be spending 500K on armor soon...

I have 100% on my cars. I occasionally have a car that I just use for just heading down to the beach if I'm in invite only and then don't put 100% on, but otherwise, have 100% on everything at this moment.

100% armor can make a difference with head on crashes. My Coquette can take 9 high speed head on crashes before one headlight is broken. That's how strong it is.

I just bought turismo R. Wanted to purchase 100% armor, I don't feel like to waste 50k now as i wasted 100k for full speed and other parts.

Also not having armor means your car blows up easily when people shoot at you.

Forcing them to pay for it :p
