Smartpride
Edit: vs hacking kids *some situations occurred in jobs. Which is much worst? Sorry to bring you a serious question, in my gta online experience I have encounter many situations when I was abused because of my accent in mics, they asked me my nationality after 2 sentences of conversation. Some said did I used auto tune for no reason... And either kick or swear at me. Mic annoying kid is not too bad that you can turn the chat mode. I know I am not western or american but doesn't mean they can do that... Did you experience these situations? 2Chains4Bracelets
I don't interact with the people I hear on mics in free roam because 9.5/10 times they're f*cking morons. Has ended up being so quite a few times for me- correction- every time I've tried talking to anyone in free roam. I do talk to players if they are in a job and clearly want to talk, or if I've played a bunch of jobs with them or befriended them. But rarely talk to randos and never entertain kids. ZakeBudek
Immature wannabe bullies of all ages will attack anyone over the faceless internet. I don't interact with them, and don't even stay in sessions where idiots are talking or harassing over their mics. Accents are weird to those sheltered souls. Respond calmly but sternly in your native language, insult or even compliment them, they will laugh nervously and get scared - then leave if they don't run off first. RavingWithJesus
honestly you shouldn't even care what people say, no matter how racist, annoying, or just how ignorant they sound. 99.9% of it is stuff they would never say to you in person, they just say it because they know you'll never meet them. like people who say that kind of stuff on the internet. they're just losers, mute/ignore them. they aren't worth your time. Strikeslip
I've heard English people nagging Spanish people to "speak English." I've been mocked by Spanish people (I speak English). Doesn't bother me though. Sometimes I'm in a lobby where some people speak French, and Some speak English, and the two languages seem to just ignore each other most of the time, though there was a language-based flare-up once, initiated by an English speaker. Funny because the French folks had to switch over to English so the unilingual English folks could understand. IMO, if someone has an accent because they speak English as a second (or third, or fourth...) language, they are a step above someone who can only speak one language, usually English folks are guilty of that. And if someone is a jerk to somebody else for having an accent, that's plain ignorant. Enmonado

Its a game..on the internet...what difference does it make what some random player says or thinks of you? Grow a pair and learn that its meaningless and to be ignored. I feel sorry for the guys who turn everyone off and lose that aspect of the game. Whats the sense of playing a MP game and not having any social contact with the other players? Ive met a number of really decent people through this games open mic setup and come across a number of perfect douchebags, who get muted forthwith. Just shutting everyone out, seems silly. Edit:After playing just now it occurs to me that the AI say some pretty mean stuff. They call you some creative, but still nasty, names. Do the people who get upset at real peoples bs talk, get as upset at the AI? Edited March 6, 2014 by MadHaTT3R
GratuitousViolets
I turn off mics on PS3 (can't tell you how it is on Xbox as I don't have one) because it's bloody annoying. Especially when the sound quality is so ridiculous that you can't even understand the words let alone the accent. The less interaction with voice chat and mailing each other etc in games like this, the easier I find it to play without losing the head at people. I play games to have fun, not be antagonised (I'd probably be made fun of for my accent too, incidentally). I come here to talk and discuss the game. Accents and race don't matter here (at least I hope not). I go to the game to ignore the world and be who I want to be without prejudice At least here I don't have to strain to understand what's being said marquisman
Brock Elvis
About the only time I've been annoyed by prick with a microphone is when he constantly bitched at me to not enter his car, even though he locked it. He also cried because I killed him once after he already sprayed me with bullets 4 times.

BEES0FTHeMIND
I've looked at it like basic reverse psychology. I join 'The Commute' race, a lobby quickly filling up. I greet everyone genuinely, and get "Hey (my gamertag) You're a fa**ot" to which i reply: "yeah, yeah, I know" Literally shut him up, didn't hear a peep. But yeah most of the time my chat is turned to No-one due to some very unintelligent people playing this game.
Spyrothedragon9972
Pay no attention to them. They thrive on the anger and misery of others. Cut that off and they'll shrivel up and die. If that doesn't work, kill them with fire.
