Broughy breaks down the DLC Cars (and others)

First off..."who the f*ck is Broughy?" you ask? Well, he's a YouTuber who's been extensively covering the race aspects of GTA Online. he's most known for breaking down the laptimes for well...pretty much every car in the game worth driving based on their classes.

 

Today he just put up a video which breaks down the Alpha, Jester and Turismo, as well as the Rat Loader and Stinger GT which he missed in a previous video. He tests the cars on Cutting Coroners, as he did with every other car in the game for overall performance-not just speed but handling as well. And his findings are a bit surprising...

 

 

 

TL;DR- Based of testing on Cutting Coroners:

*Rat-Loader is the slowest muscle car there is (no surprise there)

 

*Stinger GT is 3rd best Sports Classic

 

*Alpha is about as fast as a Coquette, only slightly slower than a Carbonizarre

 

*Jester is only a second slower than the Elegy, #2 Sports car overall

 

*Turismo is 7/10 secs. slower than the Entity, #2 Super car overall (Adder=irrelevant, lol)

Can't say I'm surprised at all really. He puts out some fairly objective material with included discussion videos on why he got the data he got. I can appreciate that and it's a pretty uncommon thing.

Broughy makes great videos, and really seems to know what he's talking about. And I can't say I'm very surprised by these results.

It still is, but completely eliminating human error, it only beats a full mod Alpha by a small margin.

Fastest in a straight line, maybe - just not around a track with corners. Cars like Elegy, Feltzer, and Jester are still better all around racers. Regardless, though, Carbo is still a good performing car, and looks great.

 

That said, while having an absolute 'best' car for the occasion certainly helps, it by no means guarantees a win. You'd also have to race clean and/or make fewer mistakes than your opponents. Then, there is catchup and slipstreaming which, thankfully, can be turned off now. Broughy also did 'win in every car' video, where he showcases how the actual driving/skill, as well as having appropriate circumstances, can allow one to win in pretty much any car.

Great video! I'm happy to see that the Jester came in second place. This gives me more reason to sell my Feltzer and purchase the Elegy. I consider myself a racer and only need the top two cars in my garage.

 

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed about the results of the Turismo. I guess I was hoping he would tell us it was the Holy Grail of super cars. I currently own the Adder and I'm wondering if it is worth selling it and replacing it with the Entity (in addition to the Turismo). Bleh...decisions, decisions!!!

I own the Adder and the Entity but always puck the Entity for races in super class, in my opinion the Turismo and the Entity are better for racing unless it's a track with long straights like long haul 2 where the Adder is faster unless catchup is on, I find the Elegy better than the Feltzer in sports class too.

Thanks for the input! I think I will sell my Adder tonight. I really hope it sells for a lot of money since I will need to purchase modifications for both the Entity and Elegy. Anybody remember how much the Adder sells for? It better damn well be in the vicinity of 500K - 750K.

^This.I like the carbonzare but I don't think it is the best for racing.Besides most racers in carbonzares are the biggest douchebags and always knock into you.The elegy is pretty good in races but I don't really like it.It just doesn't look like the Nissan gtr it's supposed to be based on.The feltzer for me is the best.It has good handling,speed and is heavy enough to resist alot of knocks.I haven't raced in the jester but it looks like it could be better

Quite a few people do race regularly, despite GTA not being a traditional racing game. It's a game mode, people use it. The fact that you don't doesn't discredit that...or does it...since you know, you drop in all "matter of fact" as if people are supposed to listen to you and all.

I'm pretty sure if this was a video on how to get money and RP in 2 nanoseconds post 1.11, then everyone would be pleased as punch. Info is there...will be useful to some, not to others. If you choose to be a dick about it, that's not my problem. I'm eating and have a roof over my head with or without your "insight".

 

But if this was Forza or GT, wouldn't we still be dealing with "virtual cars"? That said, I would rather not this thread turn into another one of "those" threads, so I will be keeping to my discussion from this point on. All other comments, here's my universal response...

Fit to burst with sarcasm, you may be; that doesn't take away from the fact that Broughy's tests, for the most part, mirror the leaderboards. He is solid in his methodology and is skillful enough to put tight lap times across all the categories with virtually zero spread in high performance vehicles. Many vehicle lap times he put forth differ by mere tenth or even hundredth of a second, so his lack of skill (aka. driver bias) is a non issue.

Oh no I totally get it. I have the same condescending assertions about other people with regards to Dark Souls. I just came in here with an already negative bias and you can blame my immaturity for trying to incite a negative response, something that I did get. Sadly, as logical as that may be, the trolls of this forum are of the worst kind and will just about make snide comments about anything. I could never let that deter me from talking about the things in this game that I like, because I know there's other out there who like the same things. Not everyone here have that kind of social aptitude, sadly.

A fully modded Adder sells for 729395 enough to buy a few upgrades.

I have got a best lap time of 58.434 with a jester on this track. Now I'm not here to say that car X is better than car Y, but I really don't think this broughy guy spends enough time behind the wheel of each car he tests to give any accurate information. It's obvious that in his opinion the elegy is the best sports car, which leads me to believe that he spends a much larger amount of time driving it than other sports cars, and because of this he has much greater skill with it than anything else. Which is why he gets faster lap times in it, rather then the cars he hardly ever uses.We all know that pretty much all the cars in the game handle differently and my point is that broughy has found his car of choice by using what works for him (which is fine). In my opinion most of the sports cars are dead even it just comes down to if you can drive it well or not. So to anyone still reading this do yourself a favor and pick whatever car your most comfortable with because that is what will give you your best lap times.

I've been saying this all along but I keep getting shot down lol.

I remember this guy got a lap that was like 5 seconds faster in the Exemplar than any other coupe, but...

 

 

This wasn't that Coroners track by the way, it was something else. Can't remember what it was called though.

It all depends on the person driving, not the car.
