OP, in my opinion GTA is the only viable video game of all time. If I want to play video games, it's GTA, before that, it was Mario Bros. :)

I play GTA daily and have never had the same experience twice.

In part, this forum is why I am still playing.

There are other reasons, but I felt like being corny.

ChillerVapes

Simple:

Because it's a sandbox game and I play how I want to play. I ignore mission requests and phone calls and other crap unless, I fancy doing a mission.

I mess around with my collection of friends and collecting cars etc.

I still play because I usually play with people in the crew I am in or will often find people who want to just race around in free roam or go off roading just for sh*ts and giggles. Sometimes when I see someone lvl 100+ picking on someone under 20 I will go help the lower level to give him/her a chance to run (went to a room and two dudes were ganging up on a chick who didnt want to "ride" with them)

Well, I play with my crew and my friends. Making my own death matches, having melee/fist fights, flying in formation with Lazers, destroying tanks with buzzards and co-pilot missile firing, etc. If there was no online mode, GTA V would be in the corner somewhere collecting dust. Oh and the small DLC updates every now and then keep the game fresh.

Like Insert-Coin-to-Continue, I still play because of this forum. After reading posts of people who love the game my desire to play builds until I break down and play.

I was having a lot of fun with nos (believe me, I realize the ethical dilemma in that and I didn't race) and when it was taken away I just turned it off for the moment. I'll have to find some new aspect to enjoy.

mmm chocolate

I am still playing because:

I'm not at 100 yet.

It's tons of fun to do missions by yourself or with randoms. THEREs TONS OF MISSIONS.

Freeroam lobbies are like the WILD WEST. Gotta watch your back. Too much fun killing someone trying to grief you.

Frequent content updates.

I just created a 2nd player. Glad they set it up so we didnt have only one and have to start over if we wanted to rank up from start again.

Awards. (Tattoos, t-shirts, RP...)

I used to only play GTA 4 for racing, and it seems Missions have taken over in GTA V.

Pretty much the same as always. I love the fact that everytime I load up GTA:O it's always going to be a different experience. Love meeting new people and going on random adventures and the occasional fun race or deathmatch here or there.

Deathmatches.

I bought the game for the Deathmatches. I just want to log on and kill people in other states and countries.

All the other stuff is just bonus sh*t to me....i would play the game if it was just Deathmatches and racing.

What will happen when I get my Slayer Award tattoo? I dont know, I guess at that time I will have to challenge myself by using weapons I avoid using in the DM's right now.

Even though I've started playing some other games as well recently, I always come back and put a little time into GTA. It has a certain addictive quality I can't put my finger on, and also my crew is awesome so there are always people to hang with online.

Recently, I've been grinding hard like Miley Cyrus

But, now I have the turismo and jester I've found I'm a bit bored again

But then I race through a tunnel and it makes cars sound amazing so I stick around for those opportunities

I'm just waiting for ESO at the end of the month. I'm also playing thief at the moment, the game isnt perfect but I'm a sucker for stealth.

I still enjoy GTA but the excitement is well and truly gone for me. Even if the heists came out now it would do little to reinvigorate my passion for the game. It lasted me for quite a while though, definitely had many a great time on it. But I think I'm ready to migrate now.

I usually try to give a FIB car away to a lower level I park it some distance away from them, and run towards the cops to get killed, so if any sticky bomb that could of have been on it would be gone.

but then they try to kill me so I kill them once and send them a message with what my original intents were. :(

The only thing that I find compelling about this game is the character and car customization. That's what sets it apart from other games.

Tabula Rasa

I still enjoy it, gta is the one game that doesn't require a whole lot of motivation in my case; even the rewards and achievements aren't all that hard; which is why I have avoided a couple. Its like a really fluid simulator and It's a blast; I've hung out with friends before who's sole objective was to kill hookers in an alleyway and see how much blood you can get on your car from driving on side walk's.

My big goal was to pass 200 before heist's and I did that awhile ago, so I'm not playing as much now; I'll be putting a lot of time into Dark Souls 2 shortly, and I've been playing the first DS too, as well as the Defiance MMO on 360.

I am still playing though, gta never gets old really; big or small I always find something new to do when I am on...

Bus Rider 1

One of the main reasons that I still play is the forums and friends.

The Forums always has something new from the game that i'd like to know. I found a lot of cool features/ways to entertain myself and my friends just because of GTAForums. Plus there is always something, waiting to be discovered or shared with here.

And my other reason is friends. It's always refreshing to play with new people or friends, especially from the forums. Whether it be doing random shenanigans or grinding Rooftop Rumble/Coveted to get some cash and RP.

I don't play the game daily, but I enjoy it most of the time I get on GTAO

I'm still playing because no matter what people say, the GTA series has been great, and GTA V is just as good as any other. (I know, controversial opinion) Sure, things change, graphics get better, dialogue may get poorer. What you have to rememeber is that depite being such a well know and professional game design company, R* is constantly learning too. Their job is harder than you think. They have to attempt to keep all of their fans happy in a world where the divide between generations is bigger than ever before.

R* could spend years making a game with such a well thought out story, amazing dialogue, and in-depth character development. I'm sure 99.9% of their fan base would love that, but they also have to make huge advances in graphics and realism. They can't do both of these in such extremes due to various set-backs. One of these being the fact that our consoles cannot physicaly work to that ability yet, but also because it would spread their resources too thin. There are simply too many things to think about, not matter how many people they have working for them.

As well as this - as i mentioned at the start - the difference between generations is huge and must be scary for a company that is expected so much of. They have to work for the older generations who (on the whole) want a more character driven , realistic story. However, at the same time they have to work for the younger generations who (on the whole) want lots of action, guns, violence and car chases. How they have managed to produce a game such as GTA V that has managed to keep so many people happy is beyond me. And they've been doing it for years!

Anyway, overall I'm still playing the game because I respect it, and it is brilliant. Yes, they are so many flaws, so many things that could have been better, but it would never have been perfect. R* is working on new content, fixing bugs, and just trying to keep us all happy. Sure, sometimes they don't get it right, but at least they try.

If you don't agree simply don't bother replying.
