I like the DLC Approach

Say what you will about the DLC content, but the best thing is, it's free. Sure some games have done the free to play approach, but so many of those not only require you to spend money to get some of the content, and put you at such a disadvantage for not spending money (i.e. Spend money and get 100% XP or cash, or play for free and only get 10%). So we got play for free, but not necessarily pay to win, and at the same time it's hardly a grind to get money in game.

 

There are few games that I think do micro transitions fairly, I think this might be one of them. I support cash cards in the hope that Rockstar sees it as a viable alternative to worse things such as season passes.

 

I know a lot of people here seem to hate cash cards, but keep in mind they are the reason we're getting the DLC for free. What do you guys think? What would you like to see changed? Prefer another approach?

They're overpriced. In no way are these 'micro transactions.' The whole idea of them is that they make no difference to the customer. But add up to a nice amount to the company receiving them when you consider the 1,000s if not 10,000s of micro transactions they earn from every week.

We have gotten DLC`s for free in the past. The reason we have cash cards is because of the chase for the almighty dollar. Oh, and because morons buy them, sending the wrong signal to the devs - that they CAN nickle and dime their playerbase.

I agree, I think the pricing is wrong. But if you can justify spending your own money, good for you, at the same time it benefits people who don't want to play.

 

If you don't want to spend your own money on DLC, you don't have to, that'd the beauty of it.
