Special Carbine, Not so special?!

Npcs can take 20 bullets anyway, and all guns can get 1HK's anyway so who cares?

That's exactly why the normal carbine is better, you can auto lock and adjust to the head, or free aim from a longer range than the special carbine. So you just need the heavy sniper, combat mg, carbine, auto shoty and you are done for guns at any range while on foot. Well.. I did use the mini gun last night for the first time in a long time to shoot down two jets that were dogfighting each other and hadn't noticed me on the ground. They flew out from over a hill, low to the ground and were heading out to sea, I strafed the mini gun from the rear chasing jet across to the front one and blew them both up within 2 seconds of each other, it was probably the most epic kill/s I've ever had. I was going to use the carbine but because they came in so low I was able to switch to the mini.

The noticeably shorter range is what makes it useless for me. Ill give up the power to hit my targets from a little further away as I use silencers on my AR's anyway so my power is already nerfed.

Yeah but the few bullets will hit the target faster from the advanced.

 

And that's why the minigun kills you so fast.

Also, in AA when going for the headshot, the bullets fly to the side of the head. The faster the fire rate, the faster you get the headshot.

This rifle seems to drop players faster than any other rifle. The only downsides are it's not very good to suppress, and it gets outranged by the other rifles (that is considering they are also unsuppressed).

I've found the normal Carbine to be slightly better overall than the Special. I don't really care about weapon stats either. Looking at stats and seeing how good the weapons are by actually using them in combat are two different things.

 

In my opinion the Carbine has longer range and is more accurate to the furthest extent of it's range (though it may not be at short range). I always get more headshots with the normal Carbine too...

I played a lot of AA until I realized how much more fun it is in FA, where you don't get shot down for driving past someone in a car or on a bike. Where a random rank 30 with a rifle can't kill you in 2 seconds, where players aim by themselves.

 

However it sucks that the FA lobbies are broken now.

Auto-Aim does do the vast majority of the work for you, common knowledge there bub; Also he never stated so broadly that gun selection didn't matter, if you read it properly he said it doesn't make much difference what 'Rifle' you use, in which case it doesn't as they are all fairly balanced and similar with a few minor differences here and there. If he was comparing an Assault Rifle to say a Combat MG, then fair enough, but he wasn't.

^ This, I ride motorcycles mainly, so not having some pre-teen jackwad shoot me off while I'm driving by at 100+ MPH is a godsend.

No it didn't, he said Rifles specifically (also seeing as its a thread discussing Assault Rifles), not guns in general. He wasn't hinting to Shotguns, Pistols, SMG's etc, he said Rifles. If you can't get kills with an AK, then clearly your 'lock on' skills aren't up to par, it only takes a slight nudge of the analog stick upwards to get a headshot, which can be achieved with pretty much any Assault Rifle in the game; things like higher damage, fire rate, magazine capacity are factors that don't come into the lock on distance (which is the same for all weapons in the same class e.g. Assault Rifles).

 

Also; If I agree with someone I have the same level of intellect as they do? Do you have any idea how childish you sound? Gta4thewin may have some beef with Auto Aim, but it's well placed in my opinion; instead of applying a counter argument like an adult in defence of AA you made yourself look like a colossal asshat by calling him a moron right off the bat, not to mention tarnishing all Free Aim players with the same brush; I'm a Free Aim player, and have no problem with those that use Auto-Aim, it's an aiming PREFERENCE, nothing more. It would make no sense to make a weapon that gives a player an unfair advantage and renders all other weapons useless. You're paying for the personal preference. I'm glad that the AK isn't left in the dust and is still a formidable weapon because it looks and sounds great.

In AA I see the combat MG an auto shotty, almost always, you don't need 200 rounds when you don't have to actually aim at anything closer than 30 yards or so.

 

OT: I prefer the Carbine better range, an playing in FA fer awhile helps kills folks outside lock range, which is whut people rely on a lot of the time.

You're a moron if you think it does matter which rifle you choose when playing AA. Almost all rifles are the same, with small changes to the performance. Advanced rifle, special carbine, bullpup rifle, carbine rifle. All of them will get the job done when you dont need to aim, but can auto lock instead.

 

Weapon choice matters, what doesnt matter is which of the rifles you choose. Different types of weapons of course work in different situations, but it wont matter what rifle you use.

Old thread, however, I would say the special carbine although I prefer the look and sound of the AK instead but you will get demolished in FA with it. Lucky that in AA most rifles perform around the same so you can choose the one you like and still perform well.

You mean the standard carbine? I think it is German HK416, not the M4 Carbine.
