Special Carbine, Not so special?!

I have done a bit of testing and apart from the slight damage boost and range loss is the special carbine actually any better? From what I can see they are fairly similar, just want to know what you guys think( no need to reply if you are <lvl50)

I love the sound of it and I love the looks of it. The accuracy is better than the on the Advanced rifle. This is my new weapon of choice.

It would make no sense to make a weapon that gives a player an unfair advantage and renders all other weapons useless. You're paying for the personal preference. I'm glad that the AK isn't left in the dust and is still a formidable weapon because it looks and sounds great.

It's got damage on par with the Advanced, and accuracy on par with the Carbine. It should have been named the Hybrid rifle...

It must be special if I use it at level 110

It's great for low level players who have earned some money but don't have the Assault Rifle unlocked. Especially if they don't have attachments for their Assault Rifle when they do manage to unlock it.

 

It also has the 60rd mag of the Thompson they just robbed from us.

I was actually shocked at how good I did last night after being away for so long.

 

I kept getting X and O mixed up which one is confirm I haven't played PS3 for so long. The kids must just really suck

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this also unlocked fairly early now? That's a huge plus for the lower levels.

 

Outside of it's design and shape (love it), the loss of mild range for a gain of mild damage isn't worth it to me.

The AK has no anvantage over the carbine rifle and combat rifle. If you have the combat rifle the AK is useless.

If you have the combat mg the mg is useless, the recent weapons changed this a bit. Gusenberg at close range is a bit better than the combat mg, while the combat mg has a superior mag and better range. The minigun renders the gusenberg useless.the sawed of does more damage than the assault shotgun. But the Assault Shotgun fires a lot faster

In the thread about the stats from the game files, people were saying it's exactly the same as the carbine rifle. The stats you see in-game are often wrong, for cars and guns.

Carbine all the way for me or Assault Shotgun, but I'll be using this one as well, see how I like it after 1000 player kills. I'm just mad the tints were unlocked pre kills.

they could just made it the best rifle in the game. doesn't make sence to me that they didn't.

carbine rifle and advanced rifle are the best all round weapons in the game imo, but im level 127 now and not got anything else to go for currently.

I like it, plus for lower level people they can get it if they don;t have MGs or anything good unlocked yet, that was rockstar being nice like with the tommy gun as well. lower levels can stand a chance now.

about to say its a g36 whats not to love? Having fired a real one when I went to norway it is one of my favourite guns IRL so of course I am gonna love it on GTAO.

Gotta love the menacing BOOM BOOM BOOM when you pull the trigger. More menacing sounding than any other carbine rifle in the game imo.

I like it, it has the ROF of the advanced rifle with the accuracy of the carbine with just slightly lower range.

It is the same as the Carbine Rifle, but I've been in love with the G36C since Rainbow Six: Vegas, so I'm biased towards the Special Carbine.

I was level 37 when it came out, so it was a blessing since I didn't have the Carbine Rifle yet. Plus the SC's sound... mmmmmm.
