GTAV feels less open-world than GTAIV and RDR

That's not what he means. He means literally the exact same spot.

Oh, so he means some NPC/Vehicles sometimes appear in the same spot.

That's not what he wrote though.

Never mind.

All your 'points' have absolutely nothing to do with the game being open world or not. I think you meant to say 'scripted'

Yeah you can go on, and I could tell how Robotic and souless the really scripted pedestrians in IV are.

They do not always spawn, nor it is the same person most of the time. It is the same spot but sometimes it has a little bit of variety.

RDR was too open and really boring and dark imo

Lol it was Open with a GTA-Cowboy esque gameplay and Linear games Invisible Wall,no ability to swim,or fly,but great game but not so great like GTA 4 or GTA5.

Why the f*ck do you put capital letters in a middle of a sentence?

And Red Dead Redemption was the sh*t. Actually, now I might be more into the Red Dead series than into the Grand Theft Auto series.

No ability to fly? Are you f*cking kidding me? Not again Blood....

The first air force wasn't even founded until 4 years after the ending of RDR. :facedesk:

As for swimming, back then, few people could swim anyway.

GTA V may have all of these features, but not all of them existed (or weren't common) 100 years ago, so don't bash RDR for not having features that weren't common in that time period.

Exactly.

OT:

What you are saying is nitpicking at best. I only agreed on the 'leaving the car engine' on part.

You can go from cycling around gang neighbourhoods to sailing on the ocean (or even diving under and exploring sunken ships). If you want you can fly a plane from the noisy/crowded city and land in the almost silent desert area. It's a totally different enviroment. If you want to go hiking up mountains then you can or you can go hunting in the forest. You can spend time sitting on the beach soaking up the sun or you can go exploring the tunnels beneath the city.

GTA IV didn't have a countryside and RDR didn't have a fully detailed city. I mean come on people..

Plus neither had planes & submarines. In RDR you couldn't even swim No random events in IV. Both land sizes were smaller. There was a much smaller variety in things you could do. No hanging out with friends in RDR. In RDR there was no way of keeping multiple horses at once, and couldn't save buggies. No properties; Marston's ranch looked promising and ended up being nothing but a safehouse.

I like IV, it was a fun game, I love RDR, I consider it one of the best games of all time, but in terms of an open world, V wins by a landslide. So many forms of transportation, so many things to do.

Where are the horses in V? In RDR we can use horses and the mules, without mention the special 'horses' on the online mode.

Where is the rope in V? With the crazy trevor, all I want is use the lasso against the rednecks.

Why we can't walk free inside the trains in V? Whoa... In IV we only can seat and watch the train in movement...but in RDR we can walk inside the train and rob the passangers... the train in V was step backward in comparison with RDR.

Why we can't crouch? We can crouch in RDR and IV. Why we don't have the option to use the crouch to "total" stealth and be covered in grass and the "stealth mode" to a fast stealth walk?

And the throwing knives? It's the biggest deadly and silent weapon ever! and recycleable!

I can't believe that there are people that want planes and swimming in RDR. :bored:

For those that think that way, read this:

No ability to fly? Are you f*cking kidding me? Not again Blood....

AC Games are set in the 18th or so centuries and you can swim and fly a wood plane (kite) in the case of AC2 so that a b*llsh*t excuse for RDR which was set in the 20th Century,1911.and with the game copying some GTA features, the easiest thing was not swimming,or will you tell me therd werent boats aswell then? oh i remembered the game was made by another Rockstar studio (Rockstar San Diego) the people that made Midnight Club Franchise, but that wasnt an excuse.I am not bashing the game,i am just saying.I hope the Franchise is giving to Rockstar North afterall the World have witness what they did with GTA.but anyways every Rockstar Studios are part of Rockstar Games,so it doesnt matter who make the next game...but not Rockstar San Diego.

I heard somewhere that the explanation about RDR is that Marston don't know how to swim. Well.. I have some friends that don't know how to swin. Even in "modern" days.

R* go for realism, and the protag of that game is from a poor background, like most at that time, and most of the people of that time couldn't swim (civvies and guards drown in AC too, just sayin'). You are bashing the game. The game was set in the wild west, something you need to understand. :bored:

Planes were very uncommon during 1911/14. The first air force, the RAF (Britannia f*ck yea. ) was founded in April 1918, 4 years after the ending of RDR. AC is not going for the most realistic route (aliens? WTF?), so it has the glider. It is not meant to be realistic like RDR.

Seriously, stop making yourself look stupid by demanding planes in RDR.

As for boats, there are boats in Blackwater, but the river has a waterfall, so there are very few boats west of the waterfall, like those at the far west of the map, and the rafts.

The game also reflect upon the wild west theme, so horses are the main form of transport. Problem?

The fact that you couldn't swim in RDR didn't really have any negative effect on the game for me! I think it would feel less wild west if you could. It gave the water a sort of feel to it, that Marston had somewhere he couldn't explore, a certain unknown, a limit if you will.

Yeah, I agree with you.
If the reason to we can't use boats was the "map limits" they should put a "Wild River / Wild waves" function to sink us when we use the boats... hahahaha Well... It should be a nice feature against the people who try to cross the mexican boarder ahead of time.

I found it funny that there weren't any border guards in RDR (well, I guess there wasn't a need for them at the time). Compare that to today's USA-Mexico border.

I am not making myself look stupid,(but it fine if you think so),i get your point planes didnt exist then, but RDR is also Linear than AC (afterall both Franchise are restrictive in Openworld Gameplay) that why RDR had invisible walls.Like i said before GTA 5 has it Pros and Cons and this thread is trying to use a non-GTA Family game to bash on it,so that why i listed RDR worst parts and i am not the only one.But hey atleast in Cowboy movies you can see a Cowboy and his horse crossing the River unlike in RDR,and also RDR map isnt even bigger than LS county and it only desert,no varied landscape-just mountains and deserts with few peds.

Yeah i do,since 2011 but i dont really play it and i havent finished it.But i also said they could have go the AC way than just doing crap, atleast Realism fits the GTA Franchise, and i like my V being Realistic and at the same time being a lil wacky but not Saints Row Style though :) Edited by Blood-Is-in-Diamond

Yes, but still, he wants planes in RDR. :facedesk:

He criticised RDR for being realistic, when that's the sort of thing he wants in a game himself (e.g. GTA V).

.i so the snow Online when Free Roaming
