I'm on my phone now but I have a 54 second lap time on Cutting Coroners with my Entityand a 55 second lap time in my Elegy (no proof for this unfortunately)
Can anyone beat these times? :-)

Bikes were good in GTA4, it´s a shame they went from a dangerous killer machine to a noob friendly transport.

 

 

Compared to IV, everything in V is a noob friendly transport. I miss IV's vehicle handling. :-(

 

 

Guess we´ll always have muscle cars, sport classics and some wet tarmac to get us somewhere close to that. I highly recommend rain to anyone who liked 4´s handling, it gets rid of the grip excess pretty well. Bikes can´t be saved even like that though.

Can you get a 54.1 running solo, without GTA race turbos (or NOS), and without going off the track to get a better run into the main straight? That´s our current crew record.

Cheers mo-seph, you did a solid race but I wanted a bit too much and hit some objects. Not my best race :-)

That's 1.5 off the pace, and 3 seconds off his claim of a 52. I told him that because a 52 is impossible without any of these things I mentioned. We've been close to break into 53 (solo run, no gta turbos, no NOS, not leaving the track for slingshot out of last turn) lots of times but no cigar yet.

Best I could do was a 54.221 when we had our time trial event here for supercars. I know a 53 is doable. A high one, but a 53.

 

I guess with the gta turbos you can get much quicker using them at the start of the straights.

The thing is, beating times and beating an actual person is different. When beating times, you only focus on racing lines and braking points whilst racing an actual person, you have to take blocking, avoiding rammers into account.

 

this is true, the threads in the name of fun, whichever way you prove your the "better" driver then you get bragging rights,.... till someone comes along and beats you that is... its no holds barred for the purposes of this thread, so whether you run solo, with GTA race hitting boosts, using a slipstream partner I dont mind.... the idea came about cos some people talk big, others race big... time to separate the "men from the boys" (of indeed the ladies from the girls..., cos were not sexist here and despite contrary belief women can drive)

 

so for example & to prove the point me & senilsson stepped up to the challenge last night,,, he beat me for fastest lap time on cutting coroners, but i took him over the 4 laps.... so who gets the bragging rights,, we both do

im all for organisation and what not and our crew have done a very similar challenge in the past (which is where Luap set his Vinewood Nights time), but forums are a fickle place and its often more work than its fun... as this topics just a bit of a laugh (i dont expect anyone will be the top dog on every track.,, so the debate can rage eternal) id like to keep it as rule free as possible

 

anyone's free to pick any track and set a challenge, if you wana throw down with your best times, then step up and stick em in ...

 

But ill tell you what... Ill add a list of the "Challenged" tracks to the OP, with the time of the current highest bidder... if someone beats it ill do a scratch through so you can see who's beat who... DONE

You´re not understanding what I say mate. I know anyone can do a 52 in a GTA race with the turbos, or with slipstreams, or going off the track to enter the finish line at full speed. I don´t need a screenshot to buy that

 

I´m asking him what he´s able to do in a supercar, solo, in a normal race, without going off the track to gain momentum over the line. A low 54 is a tall order like that. A very high 53 is maximum you can do like that in a perfect run.

 

I´d like to set a challenge in OP, think this track and car combo will tell appart men and boys :

 

2:15´391 in Through the Grapevine with a STOCK Z-type (idea is that you don´t need to own the car to beat this time).

dont worry fella i know what your saying, but if you read the OP rules thats not the purpose of the thread, if you can do a 52 in any car/bike using GTA Race boosts then do it, show us your metal.... the point of the thread is if you make the claim (such as "i know anyone can do 52 in gta race with the turbos) , prove it ..... this is all just a bit of fun dude, dont take it too seriously

 

i know that with boosts, slipstreaming and catchup i probably wouldnt get a 52 second time so not "anyone" could punch in a sub-52 second lap...

 

i also know snilsson can own me on that track and im not afraid to say he can indeed get round Cornoers faster than I. like i said in my OP im not arrogant enough to claim im better than everyone else (like some people who have yet to show their worth on this thread)...... but he's also man enough to know i beat him hands down over 4 laps, because he pushed a little too hard for his lap time and made a (and i can safely say very rare) mistake... races arent jsut about single lap times after all... but this thread is...

 

 

Ill take you up on the Ztype challenge, will probably be over the weekend, win or lose ill post my times, if i cant beat 2:15:391 ill gladly tip my hat to you as the better man at throwing a ztype round dipping in... ill also add it to the OP for anyone else looking to take you up on the offer

I did 20 laps of cutting corners last night, I was pretty wasted but I can still tell that it's going to be tough to beat 55 seconds in my entity. Mind you I know I could have gotten better than 57 cause I made mistakes all over the place. 52 though... f*ck me.

Too many variables really to be able to use this as bragging rights. I posted my times as they were from natural racing with others. There will always be ways to beat them with tricks and frankly I am not up for using them. You beat my times, congrats.

ive added a section for Specific Challenges to the OP for anyone who wants to define rules to their claims, for those who might want to take it a bit more seriously... but bragging rights on a forum arent exactly that big a deal, so neither are the rules... its just for the fun of it...

 

Plus id like to see anyone beat your Vinewood Nights time even using boosts, its a tough one for sure.

exactly this... most of us who will participate wont be bothered about bragging rights anyway and i dont doubt most of us wont be bothered to use any cheats or tricks to boost our times, im confident 95% of those who have already posted race "legit" and i trust in the honour system of showing your times (plus i think the SC leaderboards dont include GTA races anyway as the in game boards differ based on the race conditions)

but am i right in thinking your getting different results in terms of class when you try different number of laps? so if you have a better 2 lap time in an elegy than an entity, but a better 3 lap time in an entity its showing these when you filter by laps?

lets not forget its not just limited to single lap times, you could challenge someone to an overall time for a set track eg: 3 laps of criminal records in a regina...

OP has separate sections for each class and a seperate "specific challenges" section,

 

proof doesnt have to come from a leaderboard on social club, you can snap a pic of the times at the end of a race (like i did with snilsson) if your making a claim for specific eg fastest sedan on long haul 2

OK I understand. It´s your competition after all, so you decide how to run it! No problem

 

Just some advices, because we´ve ran lots of TT by now, and we´ve learned some stuff:

 

- if you really want to know "who´s better" like it says in OP, that stuff shouldn´t be part of it. No one races GTA races anyway, plus honking to go faster isn´t exactly a display of skill

- ask for screenshots of the post-race screen rather than social club screenshots. You make sure they´re current times and you take NOS out of the equation. You also know if race was ran solo or not like that.

 

As I say, these are just advices, feel free to run it the way you want, it´s your thing. Cheers!

I like the idea of the topic. And i also like to find that good racers, cause i see not many of them. So i hope people will turn up and show what they got.

 

I understand the fun part mo-seph but it proves nothing in the way that someone is better then you, if they use nos, turbo boost ect ect.

 

Like on our forum we have every week 2 or 3 Time trial challenges, run in a solo race, strickt restriction, no nos, no turbo boost, just you the track and the car. Legit times without cheating, slipstreaming, taking long runs, nos ect ect.

 

Here are our best times in the week we did it, Fasterthenyou (dyr_gl) on the forum had the record of 54.211 and we keep the trials open for anyone in our crew to beat it. Now i have the record in our crew of 54.122

 

Here is the topic with our fastest times driven in the Cutting coroners. Also with picture proof of every time set.

And i truly want to see faster people but not faster with nos turbos ect ect cause in my eyes it proves nothing, your just someone who raced with all the help and assist they can find in the game.

 

So i would like to challenge people on this track.

 

Show your racing skills,

 

Race in supers.

 

No nos

No turbos

No slipstream

No catchup

Race alone in a solo session

No long run to hit start at top speed

 

And post a picture of the proof here. Show your legit fast and know how to drive. Only boys race with assist but in a race without the assist they wont be even close.

 

So try to beat it, if you know you can. And its damn hard to set such times.

while were all getting a little serious (and i genuinely do respect the serious racers, most of you know im one of them) on what was meant to be a bit of a laugh, ive given yall a section of the OP for a serious, rules defined challenges...

 

So now we have 2 sections.

 

Theres the "No Holds Barred" section, the original intention of the thread, no rules just a "im better than you ner ner ner ner ner" type deal (i hope yall didnt miss the epic amount of sarcasm in my OP.... and thread title,, and most of my contributions to this topic thus far.... bragging rights dont mean much as far as im concerned... thats why i dont brag...i fancied a bit of a laugh)

 

and now you have the "Specific Challenges" section.... for a more serious way of testing your mettle

 

Set your rules when you set your challenge and see who steps up to the plate... if the specific challenges bit proves popular enough ill make a separate thread and kindly (with bribes of cookies and possibly sexual favours) ask Baker if he will move the serious posts to the new thread...
