CANT SNIPE PEOPLE OUT OF TANKS NOW?WTF

When the Business DLC came out - I went to get the new cars and tune them up. Came out from LS Customs.

 

8 other people (strangers) just hanging about with new cars. The lobby was nice and quite. No Tanks - everyone having fun, driving each others cars. testing them against other cars. Getting masks and outfits.

 

Nobody killed each other, it was great fun. Then Tank guy shows up and ruins it all - blew up all 8 cars in one go.

 

What's the point in ruining other players enjoying the game. It just means less players in the long run, less money made for R* which = less DLC content, Less development.

 

Its been the same with most online games. A small number of players f*ck it up so the rest move on to the next game.

If this turns out to be a myth, it will be good to see more tanks out who believe they are invincible so I can snipe them. I didn't see any patch notes about this , or related to rendering. This might be a case of a placebo effect.

 

I still haven't seen any reports of a long distance test. Someone have a friend sit in a tank at the Eclipse garage, and try to snipe them from Weazle, and see if the bullet sparks. If it does, then we will know they did something. I am still hopeful that tanks are not as invincible as they think they are.

My experience in this scenario: Show up in tank, flip it on wall, stay upside down for rest of session, good times.

It's surprising how many tank greifers leave their super cars at the tank spawn points. It's careless that.

 

Whats the worst that could happen someone takes it wrecks it then pays for the insurance.

I think he meant that there are only a few spawnpoints for tanks. So anyone who orders his own tank can use it to destroy the vehicles left behind by other people that got their tank from the same spot. And don't pay the insurance.

this is a total bummer for me, tank sniping was one of my favourite pastimes.

I know right, it was hard to snipe even when they were not lagging, and it was so satisfying sniping them. Even when i was in the tank and i got snipe, i was impressed with the sniper.

You avoid the tank or change lobbies. It's that simple. Works for me and I've not been destroyed by a tank in ages.

 

Here's another handy tip (from personnal experience), ignore the tank, don't shoot at it and it might not shoot back. An amazing concept, I know(!)

yes it was a flaw in the game code, but it was our only effective way of dealing with them harrasing other players. You can say "turn on passive mode then", but what about if your in an expensive car?

 

 

I expect to see a lot more tanks when I sign on shortly.

 

 

I did come across a few friendly tanks though. And this code flaw sometimes probably caused unavoidable confusion among players.

 

As an example. A tank is killing lots of players in a lobby. Some guy has had enough and wants revenge on the tanker. He gets his own tank, and some other player snipes him out of his!

 

I see both sides of the argument. Not all tanks are bad, and some like to cruise around in one. on the other hand a lot are.

 

Rockstar needs to give us some proper methods of dealing with a tank. Bottom line.

perhaps R* considered it as glitch to take out someone from hatch

 

but got a suggestion for ALL OF YA ! since the tank is most realistic rendition than previous GTA , minigun will make short work on tank's engine ( the engine is behind turret , covered by vent . this is the spot you need to shoot )

only problem is u need get a climable rooftop with a ladder or stair ( tank cannot aim too close unless they far enough . still the range of cannon are limited ) and u must shoot it before that tank escaped

 

stupidly , it takes 15 RPG rocket to destroy it due the tank's strength boosted in online mode

Tanks being tanks should cost 25.000$ for Pegasus delivery instead of 200$.

 

They should be slower. GTA being the most realistic and unrealistic game at the same time, it can easily compensate the fact that a multi-ton armored war machine can't exactly be swift.

 

Also reduce the cannon range by 40%.

 

 

 

That should tip the balance back in the game's favor.

For anyone giving suggestions of how to take them out on foot, here's a fact...

 

THE TANK CAN KILL ANYONE ON FOOT FASTER THAN YOU CAN DESTROY IT.

 

Probably several times over too. So save your cheap tips of how to commit suicide.

 

And the jet is suicide too. I am a master of hitting ground targets with a jet, and the f*cking tank gets several chances to shoot you down when you get close enough to hit it.

 

The only way to fight a tank and have a chance at winning is with a tank now. I hate this. It means when some scrub surprises me for some cheap kill, the only way I can take revenge is by becoming a scrubby tank driver myself.

 

Tank wars get boring after awhile because they take no skill, and now the one thing used against them that did take skill is gone.

Call a tank, go off radar, kill them and then spawn kill them they usually go into passive or leave the session because they fail.

I've done that many times and it just takes too long. Snipers end up shooting you down.
