Because it was an exploit of the console limitations. Now we can all complain and try to get a proper anti tank weapon in DLC, which frankly should've been in the game to begin with.

This is the biggest piss off for me. I purposely become a bad sport because I absolutely love sniping out people in tanks and hearing them cry because they want to kill everyone but not die themselves. Now you pretty much need to be rank 70+ to deal with tanks as you need your own tank, a RPG (which still isn't reliable), or you need to be good with jets. Thanks Rockstar for making tanks even more overpowered than they were before... Why don't you add a feature that makes them take no damage at all next? /sarcasm

You can kamikaze them in a vehicle put 5 stickies on a car go off the radar and slam into em.

 

Works 95% of the time the 5% is when they are shooting everything in sight

I just run around in passive mode dodging their attempts to run me over. Once they give up on that and consider me a non-threat (times vary, some idiots will try to run me over for a good hour), I walk up to the driver's side hatch and jack them. Then turn on my mic and mock them for losing their tank.

 

Edit: My crowning glory was when a pair of tanking pussies were griefing the lobby. I jacked one and blew up the other with it - yes cool story bro.

Doesn't say anything about the Tiger I which is what the in-game tank is based off of. Also, the Heavy Sniper in the game isn't an anti-tank rifle, it wasn't designed to counter tanks. It also mentions a specific type of ammo that the rifles used.
