So how many Tanks did you snipe?

When I'm going berzerk in a tank the guys who comes after me with planes or helis are the easiest targets. A buzzard is pretty much worthless against a tank.

 

I had one guy after me once who could really fly though, but he couldn't hit me.

If you have someone with you in the buzzard to use the missile camera it's a lot easier to get tanks than flying solo.

 

 

 

I have tried and tried but cant find anyone who wants to fly the helo and act like they have a passenger with more accuracy. Too many glory hogs that want to fly

only about 12. once every so often and and funnily enough a few days ago, a crew of high rank tankers. shot them all out about 2 - 3 times each! They tried to aim their turrets up or shoot from a far but were falling short. They then got really angry abandoned their tanks, and proceeded to chase me to the beach, pier. Was good fun, and served my duty!

 

A bitch move this has been taken out!

A little more or less than 30. I have to say that my best kill, IMO, was when I sniped the same guy out of his tank twice. After the second time, I parachuted down and stole it. I took it to LSIA and from there I cargobobbed it to the top of Maze bank.

 

I'll give him credit. He didn't quit after I did it, and he even came after me to recapture his busted tank ( he managed to get some stickies on it b4 I got to the airport).

Is it really that big a thing? I mean in real life, could you snipe someone out of a tank?

 

This always struck me as a bit of a mistake in the game as the area you could hit was so large and the thing is solid. You can have weapons fired at close range that have no effect on the driver yet a sniper 2 or 3 streets away does?

That rarely works, everytime someone approaches my tank in a suspicious manner they get pulvirized, sometimes I even let them get so close they actually climb on it and that's when you back away, they fall, then stay over their body until they die, even godmode players would die in this way.

If what you're supposed to shoot locks in the auto aim for the rockets then it's best if the pilot fire. But to attack a tank then the co pilot has to do it, it's hard to free aim with the rockets for the pilot.

 

 

I could pilot sometime, if you wanna hunt some tanks.

it wasnt fool proof, but 60% of my targets were tank-jacked and spawn killed for doing it to me

I think it happened maybe twice, and the second one was my fault for flying around at low altitude when I should have known better.

This was known about since the game came out basically and only yesterday Domislive (youtuber) put up a video about it and now it doesn't work. LOL

Only sniped around 10 tankers in my time, my weapon of choice is the Lazer, probably 30+ tank kills.

1184 player kills, I would say 400 tanks is a good estimate. To be honest I haven't even seen many in the last few weeks, the few that I have were killing cops and not bothering anyone or me. Me and a crew mate are going to test every possible angle in an invite only session later on to see if it can still be done. There has to be one or two sweet spots left. I'm not throwing in the towel yet.

Tank kill numbers? I'd say close to a thousand, maybe more(3356 player kills total). I spent over a month in bad sport when GTAO first came out when every lobby was full of tanks and I spent 90% of that time on a roof sniping them. It's my favourite thing to do. Pretty pissed it is gone. Doing further testing once Steve accepts my invite.

i can't offer any proof, but i was trying my hardest to snipe someone out of their tank tonight and failed. with a heavy sniper. i did get to shoot them after a friendly mugger came by, dragged them out, stole their cash and then drove off in their tank, though...

 

noticed also, that i didn't seem to be able to snipe people from their cars, unless i could see their names appearing on screen. which means no long distance sniping.

 

i never kept count of the numbers. not that many. certainly less than fifty. doesn't seem like nearly enough.

 

one of my favourite moments in the game so far, was hearing a tank driver say,

 

"what? how did he snipe me? where is he?"

what are you talking about? I probably have 200 tank snipe kills. Are you saying that it has always been impossible to snipe someone out of a tank? If you are, you need to hit Alt+F4

i had 67 with the regular sniper rifle and in less then a month with my heavy sniper got some 25.
