So how many Tanks did you snipe?

Now that Rockstar has stopped this useful technique of attacking tanks I would like to know how many people you ever sniped out of a tank. Any particular feats will do, let us know how much heavy metal destruction you dished out in the past.

 

Myself I have sniped about 54 people out of tanks and frankly one of the funnest times I've had on this game is when I sniped an entire crew in tanks out of them and had them kick me out :]

its really gone? it was the only thing about tanks that made sence.

the fact tanks have unlimted ammo and can fire every 2/3seconds is just OTT. but taking away its only true weakness is a bad move imo.

 

I think I got about 12-15, had 2 message's off people calling me a cheat etc.

I didn't see it in the patch notes, I will have to check them again I only skimmed over them I usually read them more intently but I was in a rush to buy some new stuff; liked what I saw though.

 

edit: Still not seeing it; if its there I feel kind of silly because I've never missed a detail on any other patch notes..even if its true I'll know for sure when I try it...down to a science.

 

2nd edit :Even if it were hotfixed, these things are usually mentioned; but rockstar has shown in the past that they on occasion don't note current changes until a later patch.

I did take out three players who were in a crew all in tanks. I mean, yeah the first one got back into his tank before I killed the third one, but it was still awesome. I killed them multiple times. It helped that they were all on top of a parking garage taunting everyone in the session to come and try to take over the roof.....silly easy targets.

Must've sniped 50 or so. I haven't ried it today though. People say it can't be done anymore, but since nothing can be found in the patch notes I'd like to see so for myself.

If we really can't snipe anymore, I don't understand why R* didn't put in a special anti tank weapon or just nerfed it.

a lot of them... tanks are not as common as they were in the early days of gta online though. i was having trouble finding tanks lately. but still it's a shame. it's another TANK DICK SUCKING by rockstar.

1184 player kills, I would say 400 tanks is a good estimate. To be honest I haven't even seen many in the last few weeks, the few that I have were killing cops and not bothering anyone or me. Me and a crew mate are going to test every possible angle in an invite only session later on to see if it can still be done. There has to be one or two sweet spots left. I'm not throwing in the towel yet.

I started keeping track of my tank snipes after I took out 6 tanks in rapid succession

If R* did put a total kibosh on it, they better give us a Javelin Missile Launcher in some later military related DLC. I have a feeling there's going to be allot of new missile cam co-pilots in the future.

so nobody knows? i have yet to run into a tank since the patch.

 

as far as numbers go.....i've sniped 97% of all the tanks i have encountered online....it's too many to count.

736 heavy sniper player kills. Over half of that would be tanker kills. I didn't care if he was griefing or not. He could've been using the tank to deliver puppies to orphans - didn't matter, still getting shot at.

Aim for below the hatch area, roughly. Should only take one or two shots w/heavy sniper.

How was that the only thing that made sense about tanks? I mean, if another tank shooting at them can't pierce the armor, why can a sniper rifle?

And then you got shot down.

 

When I'm going berzerk in a tank the guys who comes after me with planes or helis are the easiest targets. A buzzard is pretty much worthless against a tank.

If you have someone with you in the buzzard to use the missile camera it's a lot easier to get tanks than flying solo.

probably around 50, and will snipe more in the future as people have claimed that sniping has been taken out before. Sometimes it takes more than a few shots.
