Anyone notice this WW2 era Soviet T34 (the tank that crushed the nazis)?

It's in the junkyard near the airport, there's a deathmatch there as well.

Thought this was pretty neat

Very clever comrade. x3

My grandmother lives just outside of Moscow. I lived with her for a few years when I younger. Russians are very nice people.

EU tore Ukraine in two, because they demanded them to cut all ties with Russia if they'd join (pretty weird, TBH). The president probably asked Russia for aid, and frankly, I think they have the full right to invade because they basically are helping the Ukrainian government to suppress the protestors. Just my view on this

Just think about why this started. The EU explicitly demanded that Ukraine would cut all ties with Russia, otherwise they wouldn't be let into the EU... What the hell, EU?! They should've known that the government would want to remain allies with Russia and that the civilians would want all the benefits of the EU. It's like they have a grudge against Russia, it's really weird...

It all boils down to red scare & McCarthyism, which cost the US many lives due to their own illogical fear. Vietnam or Korea for example.

The Cold War is over buddy, there is no such thing as red scare anymore lol

This is a bit different than Vietnam and Korea, since there's not even a chance America would do something as stupid as invading right now.

Because of the fall of the Soviet Union in 1993. The whole concept of the Soviet Union, apart from communism, was a bondage of slavic states. America doesn't want Russia to be rejoined with Ukraine.

Hmm, you do have a point. And that's definitely why the EU made that strange demand. BUT, America will not invade. They simply won't dare.

The EU doesn't like how Russia is tight with Syria.

These recent events really complicate that situation, even though Assad just turned in 33% of his chems, even though he is still way overdue.

This situation also affects the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

I read the news for about 4 hours a day (not watch, read) There is nothing that you pansies are going to say that is any more insightful than any of the million different viewpoint presented in the various articles. If you want to get a good idea though, of how the citizens on the ground feel, you should read their blogs.

Oh this is not just about Syria. In fact, Syria is just trivial here. It's all of Russia's allies together. China, shady Middle-Eastern countries like Syria, the slavic states. It's all menacing to the EU and US and they react accordingly. There still seems to be -dare I say it- a bit of a Cold War leftover.

Still, though, US won't invade. And probably neither will the EU, at least not until the situation stabilises (in their favour). They succesfully created an uproar in Ukraine, so now it's up to Russia to attempt to restore the situation. We'll see who wins here soon

Hopefully Obama is smart enough not to invade Russian occupied Ukraine if Putin decides on intervening (which he very well may).

It would be a repeat of WWII and Vietnam. The US would not only lose, but would be humiliated in the process. It could always get out of hand and go much further. Which is what nobody should hope for.

US isn't stupid, I'm sure. Russia has so much strategical advantage in Ukraine it would be a sure loss. Going up against Russia, this close to their own land is pure insanity, even with EU backing. It would be a proper war.

US has proven itself to be stupid in many different situations, such as Syria, and Vietnam. Even WWII.

Even in WWII, the US didn't have to intervene in the slightest, Nazi Germany was diminished and nearly defeated by the Soviet Union in 1944.

The US will spew propaganda everywhere on their role in WWII, from defeating the Germans to making Japan surrender (neither are true).

D-Day, the US history teacher's wet dream, even though disastrous and terribly planned by the US, has around 1k German casualties compared to 3k US casualties. How whopping. Not only a 3-1 loss ratio, but miniscule, fighting weakened Western front Germans. The Battle of Stalingrad (which you'll never hear in the US) had over 1 million casualties on both sides.

Movies like Saving Private Ryan are pure BS, really. A much more realistic movie any WWII enthusiast should see is "Stalingrad".

BTW, the US also doesn't say the day their nukes were dropped on Japan (killing 80,000-160,000 civilians each) was completely irrelevant, and nothing but a civilian killer (who were uncared for by the Japanese empire).

The US won't tell you the USSR was invading Manchuria on that same day, destroying Japanese divisions dozens at a time, also declaring war.

Vietnam, the US decides to be the big democracy spreader, and loses men to warfare that was completely unneeded in a jungle thousands of miles away.

Same thing here, the US is trying to intervene in something it should keep its nose out of. The US needs to stay isolationist, like its founding fathers created it to be.

If you are born, raised, and educated in the US, you were taught the same BS as me. The US have been villains (for the most part) throughout history.

Are you talking about the US? Because the two-front attack by both them and the Soviets obviously did the job, not just them.

Besides, I almost forgot about China. They expressed that Russia has their full backing, which makes it even more madness to attempt an invasion :rampage:

Sure, the Wehrmacht run under Nazi ideology and leaders such as Von Paulus (lost 6th army at Stalingrad), Erich Von Manstein, even Heinrich Himmler, all diehard devotees of the Nazi party. More importantly, Adolf Hitler, who took all military power. Say Wehrmacht, but Nazi run.

This couldn't be a more wrong statement. The day of German invasion in the USSR, Germans met the new t34. The battle of Kursk is the largest tank battle in history, and once again that battle alone tops ALL US and British casualties.

The US did practically nothing, invading a weakened army in 1944 after the Germans were in full retreat from the USSR.
