I bought a Rat Loader a while back from the Southern San Andreas Autos website and I can't seem to sell it at any mod shop or remove its tracker and/or insurance, am I missing something or is this a bug?

You expect to sell a vehicle and it's modifications that you got for free? You won't be able to sell it otherwise people would be making easy money - same with the DLC vehicles.

You can replace it with another car

If your garage is full, buy a car you want to replace it, it'll say that your garage is full and select car to replace. Otherwise, you have to fill your garage before you can get rid of it.

You CAN sell a free vehicle.

You just have to "strip" the insurance off the vehicle by following these quick steps:

1) Make sure your garage is full. If it is not full, then purchase multiple free vehicles or steal random cars until it is full.

2) Drive the free vehicle, which you want to sell, outside of your garage.

3) Once outside, exit your free vehicle and steal the first random car you see.

4) Drive the newly acquired stolen vehicle into your garage. You will get a warning notice about your garage being full, but just ignore that.

5) Once back inside your garage, you will be prompted with a list of the cars in your garage. From this list select the free car, which you left outside.

6) You will see the stolen car take up the empty parking space of the free car. Now WALK out of your garage.

7) When you get outside you will notice the minimap indicates your personal vehicle is parked nearby. This will be the free vehicle, which you left outside, so get into it.

8-A) Drive the free vehicle to any LSC mod shop and sell it.

...or...

8-B) Drive the free vehicle back into your garage where you can store it to sell it later whenever you want.

I believe this "stripping" process works because when you "boot" a vehicle out of your garage in the manner described, it gets "stripped" of insurance. Every vehicle, which you legitimately buy on a web site (even free ones), automatically comes with a tracker and insurance. For whatever reason the game does not recognize a "stripped" car as one you got on-line because it does not have insurance.

If you have linked your Xbox Live/PSN account with the Rockstar Social Club, then you will unlock the free Elegy sports car. These can be sold for $9,500 every 48 minutes (24 in-game hours) at any LSC mod shop after you "strip" them. Many people collect and sell stolen Ballers for $9,000 (actually a bit less than $9,000 because the price drops slightly depending on whether you car-jacked someone or broke the window of a parked Baller). Obviously by selling free Elegy sports cars you earn an extra $500 each time you sell them compared to selling a Baller, but you also save yourself the time of hunting down Ballers or other lower-selling stolen cars.

I realize some GTA players with morals (paradox) will complain about this being a method, which takes advantage of a gliche. However, it is not that major considering you still have to wait every 48 minutes and it only earns you an extra $500 more than selling a stolen Baller. Either way, this method will primarily help lower level characters to earn a little extra money because once anyone reaches level 36 or higher, they can do certain missions, like Coveted or Rooftop Rumble, which can be completed in less than 9 minutes and pay at least $18,000. Rather than wasting my time doing a boring thing like stripping an Elegy and driving it to an LSC mod shop to sell it for $9500, which takes a couple of minutes, I would much rather just do one of the missions and earn almost double the money along with a bunch of RP as well.

You can also use a variation of this "stripping" method to reorganize the cars in your garage. You just have to shuffle your cars around one-by-one, each time replacing a random crappy stolen car in the parking space you want. Just remember to re-purchse insurance for all the personal vehicles you want to keep afterward. It also helps to do any reoganizing or your garage before you buy a lot of mods for your vehicles because purchasing insurance costs more for higher priced modded vehicles.

I hope this helps some people. I know it definitely resolves the original poster's dilema.
