Can sniper rifles shoot through objects?

Was having a bit of a scuffle with a couple of players near the airstrip, mostly sniping. A few times i was hit while behind rocks or a building, pretty sure there was no unbroken line of sight. Does the sniper rifle shoot through obstacles?

Nope. I think you can kill two people with one shot (I do it against AI in missions all the time), but you can't shot through objects..

I don't think they were far enough if away for it to be that thing where solid objects become textures. They must have just been much better at sniping than me then lol. Still seemed a bit weird though as the position of the sniper's blip on the radar definitely didn't suggest he would be able to see me.

right and wrong i know for a fact you can shoot players thru dumpsters,some side are bulletproof while other sides are not,and yes u can also kill 2 ppl with 1 bullet,done it 3 times

Someone did an experament on youtube and lined up the whole lobby (all friends) to see how many poeple it would shoot through, I think it got through 12 of them.

 

As for objects, there has to have been a TINY part of you exposed. Hell, even the tip of your elbow.

Most times, even in cover, a little bit is exposed.

I remember a guy, He came in the server and he could shoot at people hinding behind thick objects like walls and stuff with ease. He just picked his rifle and bam and the guy hiding behind a wall a block or two ahead is shot. Maybe he used wallhacks....

Of course you can. I shoot through car windows all the time.

Depends on distance and what the object's made of.

I personally think the heavy sniper should shoot through practicality everything.

 

What probably happened to you like others have said, you may have been poking slightly out of cover.

 

Or from your end, it might of looked like you were fully covered, but the top of your head/limb may have been exposed in the guys line of sight if he was at a elevated/different angle to you.

Yeah from what I can tell some objects are intended to deform.

I think it's the TDM at the Maze gallery where the pillars crumble under fire.

Both, a couple of times while i was behind rocks, at least one time when I was behind a building.

You definetly can Shoot through buildings, walls or Rocks.

Did it already by myself, but it is a matter of distance.

Killed once a tank griefer in his tank through a house. Distance was about 700 meters.

The heavy sniper should be able to pierce most objects and cover.

 

However, this is GTAO, so, f*ck logic I guess.
