DarkSavageDeathlyCloud Posted September 12, 2016 Share Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) jeezes, i hope this does not count as advertizing, but a month ago, when we were just out of vacation we went to a place called "de gouden leeuw" jeezes man, that food...those portions were insane i picked the beef stew with french fries...with sole salads and tomato's...usual stuff...but damn, that plate was huge it was something like this: but at least 2 times the size and maybe even double that amount of fries... i actually planned to eat dessert...and i was damn hungry, but...i just couldn't. and thing was, it actually was great on taste to. in the end i just ended up drinking a small glass of "Balegemse" berry jenever, which i also found good enough...first time i tasted it...i woud still prefer some of the brand "filliers" though i think, but that is just preference. Also next to me was a friend of my mom eating spaghetti...said to be a small one, but that amount...you could eat with 2 from one portion. also left to me mom was not able to finish her plate with shrimp croquettes...3 pretty enormous ones...and she actually got fries with it on to of it...and a small portion of seperate shrimp to, laying on fullblown nest of salad. you sure do not see them serve like that anymore...i like it...before i die i want to eat there again and again and again and again ! also love to eat ribs favorit ribs are those with some honeysause over them. also grilled lobster...goddamn...that sh*t was delicious. DarkSavageDeathlyCloud Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) Went to some of the more high end restaurants in Ghent here...this are a few examples Basicly, this is sardine, with gazpacho, a mussel and some vegetables like tomato and broccoli and all kind of stuff i just do not remember but overall the combination was awsome and this was quail, together with all things nice and sh*t...really this are just 2 examples, there were several more tiny, yet delicious plates with all sorts of stuff on it that tasted overall like nothing i ate before and contained so much differend things i just do not remember the details Really, in general i am that guy that, when he goes to restaurants with a big menu but small portions, there is always like a third of sh*t on my plate i just do not like to eat at all This time i must say i actually eat it all up...and not because i was starving, but in because it was in fact delicious. Katz's Reuben with Pastrami: Sea Urchin, Salmon Roe, and King Crab rice bowl at Soba Totto. DarkSavageDeathlyCloud Posted October 15, 2016 Share Posted October 15, 2016 I must admit it might not look that delicious, but what you see there is the first meal i ever cooked myself in my life spinach, chicken fillet, cooked potatoes and i even made myself some croutons to go with it. I kinda f*cked up the timing and the spinach was cooling down by the time the flesh and potatoes were ready, i think it didn't go that bad at all.
