harry_boulder Posted February 27, 2014 Share Posted February 27, 2014 I've been a long time Lurker here, this is my first post and I've been curious to a few things. I created this account today to ask a few things and would be grateful for your help. Lurking around here enjoying posts etc. I've come to notice locked threads, and that some threads get deleted. I'm am just curious as to why they are deleted or locked, and what causes this? Some of the posts I've seen this happen to are on topic, and aren't offensive by the OP at least. If posts are deleted because someone posts something offensive in it then why is the entire post deleted and not the offensive comment? In closing I'm not looking to tick anyone off or anything like that and please if you comment on this don't be offensive, it's really something I've been wanting to know. I've had all three options happen on topics I've made, and needed to speak with the individual Mod responsible. With mixed results... There is an explanation by a member of staff at the end of the thread most of the time, unless another member provided clarification already. Sometimes there are so many off-topic posts, spam, trolling, etc. that there is no point in getting the topic back on its tracks. Another possibility is that the subject has been recently covered.
