Here is variations of 5.7x28 ammo.

Overall length 40.50 mm (1.594 in) ^[8]

 

Here is, for example, .50 AE from Desert Eagle with other ammunition to understand the scale:

As you can see, it's pretty obvious that .50 AE can't be considered heavy even at first glance.

BTW, 5.7x28 is something like .22 LR at THIS image to understand entire picture.

Here is parameters of .50 AE:

Bullet diameter .500 in (12.7 mm)

Neck diameter .540 in (13.7 mm)

Base diameter .547 in (13.9 mm)

Rim diameter .514 in (13.1 mm)

Rim thickness .060 in (1.5 mm)

They haven't come out yet, but I'm almost 100% sure it will be strictly inferior to the AP. Assuming Level 1s can buy it right away if they have the GTA $, it will be weaker. Can't have the low level players get the best weapons right out the gate.

Im excited to use it. I would rather it be a .44 Magnum revolver though. If it is a FN57 I would hardly call it a heavy pistol. Civilian 5.7 catridges are basically just strong .22's. Military grade ammo is a whole other story though.

Pack serious firepower? I'm guessing it will be semi automatic with a higher fire rate than the .50 but have a bit less firepower than the .50

 

Since The AP Pistol is accessible to everyone, my guess is that this gun will look to compete with the .50 due to its exclusiveness.. I could be wrong just my guess.
