I agree with your thread, EA's forums are crazy, especially Madden though, is the perfect example of money milking, plenty of YT vids out there, how the ''Next Gen'' madden has worse AI and crowd, as well as physics and other aspects compared to older Maddens from like 10 years ago.

 

The thing with this game though is just the way R* has worded it all, it seems wrong, obviously their ultimate goal is to make money, but the way they do it is just frustrating. They could have kept their mouth shut, and not hype things that they most likely knew wouldn't be released on Day 1.

 

A good way to do DLC imo is to announce it, give out some details, and give a release a bit later.

 

Not announce it before the game is out, stuff it in a trailer, and not release it half a year down the line.

 

 

I hear ya... I really hadn't paid much attention to the launch stuff as I was playin' NHL and waiting on BF4. So, I can't really speak to how they originally marketed it. For the record, I work in (internet) marketing, so I have an inherent distrust of anything from the marketing department.

 

Again, if I expect little (or nothing) I am rarely let down.

 

Now, I am not as familiar with the history of GTA and online elements... but from what I understand it's somewhat new to the franchise (for the record, played the single player versions since it first started... man, it's come a long way). That being the case, and the fact it was probably the biggest selling game of the year, I would sort of expect some issues as far as server balancing and of course, the rampant modding/hacking etc. Has that played into things? Probably... (not one of those peeps using it as their crutch tho).

 

At the end of the day... it's gaming. It saves me sh*t tons of $$$ compared to how fast I burn through dough in the bar etc... I've already got 400hrs of gaming (online) from my $50. I am happy with that. I ain't gonna stress over the rest. If it gets old... I move on. I am more than happy with the investment.

 

Anyway.... enough of this madness. My work day is pretty much over, gonna go log on and see what I can get up to. Anyone want a hearse??? Hit me up... ROFL

People's problem is that they listen to people speculate to get their news. If you would stop trying to decipher everything, and listen to what those who are unattached to R*, you wouldn't be creating unwarranted false hope.

Reality is we have NO idea what is coming with this DLC other than what they said. They mention business ventures, that could be the current missions or new added ones. We have more material to keep us busy until they give us more DLC.

Relax and let things unfold, and stop being such a collection of whiny babies who feel entitled to something that isn't theirs. I can't stand when people bash sh*t before it's even out to anyone.

Like people said earlier in this thread, R* can't win. Either they release small, regular dlc with weapons, customization and missions, in which case they get complaints about not doing anything new, or they do something that actual does change the game (like the IV Episodes), in which case they get complaints about it being cut content.

I'd prefer they didn't advertise heists as a major coponent of online when they had to have known it wasn't anywhere close to ready at launch

These threads always turn to sh*t, so it's no surprise you have whiners complaining about the whiners..This forum is good for telling lies and making you wish they were true, so unless it comes from Rockstar's mouth, choose carefully whether you believe it or not.

 

I think the game walked up a step when the cleaning began, i thought it was a good move and i was satisfied that they were on the right track. Now that the basic stuff has come out, i think when the goodies begin to flow the game will be in a better place. I haven't liked anything so far but hopefully they release something that i will at some point.

I expected more but I do enjoy the frequency that these are coming out now. way too long there's been dlc/patch droughts and now two in a row? great!

though on the business side of things, I REALLY expected purchaseable property of garages. 3 new cars and the same 10 car garage, most of us with the Roosevelt taking up space that's not easy to give up. come on rockstar!

And the Hunter chopper from San Andreas that they released a screenshot of pre-release, it would've been great to have that, it will probably get in a DLC along with the Hydra which was in the first trailer but since it sounds too good i doubt it will happen.

 

Hydra is kind of understandable, it's in the first trailer of the game, things are bound to get cut, but with GTAO it was literally weeks before it was out, just throwing that out there.

Some games don't get DLC's at the rate we are. Take Minecraft for example, they haven't had an update since October.

I wish they'd give us a hardcore mode that turns off the goddamn white blips on the radar unless firing an unsilenced weapon. I want stealth to actually be useful.

Yeah and i don't get why the lobby system was completely scrapped, they wanted a more ''single'' and streamlined experience that everyone can have, taking away the custom matches.

 

Not sure who's great idea that was, RDR was perfect with the difficulty options and all the other features, if you hated blips, it's all good. If you wanted a more friendly experience, you got it.

Actually... the CLU, or Command Launch Unit, that makes up the Javelin firing controls, has the ability to lock onto any vehicle, aircraft included. I've seen it done. People would f*ck around and lock on to helicopters.

Er, watch the Official GTAO Trailer by R*? It's in the trailer, and they advertised it as being part of GTAO on launch in articles, bascially everywhere.
