"Special" Carbine? I don't think this dlc will be free&#33

Whenever you see the word special followed by R* down the line, its not free, its never free. Makes perfect sense though, lure em in with free stuff then start charging, I see R* making a lot of profit with this dlc and seeing this coming so soon from the valentines day pack makes you think doesn't it.

"Special" . . . as in it rides the short bus when compared to the Advanced Rifle.

 

It will cost GTA $ to buy, but it won't be worth adding an extra useless weapon to scroll through to get to your Advanced Rifle or Carbine for headshots.

I can see it now, The cash card debate totally changed because they added purchasable DLC! So many people will be hyporites from not buying cash cards, and buying the dlc. or vice versa.

 

now let's see those unbiased opinions of spending money in game justify their support argument now.

 

pretty sure I predicted that months ago, But I will let everyone in my sig just act like it did not happen.

The way they are doing it is releasing packs that can be bought with GTA$ if you don't have the money then just buy a cash card.. Much easier than having to wait for a giant big update DLC that costs money.. Contrary to popular belief cash cards makes DLC much more accessible.. Not that I have ever bought one, but would if the desired vehicle was awesome enough for me to want to spend the money for..

I believe that "The Business Update" will be a simple update like others, no charge at all. But none of us can be sure as of now, the best we can do is to wait for more information.

I'll just say this again..

 

We have to discuss and clarify what "free" means for this game..

 

Free as in you don't have to buy it as a DLC pack? Or Free as in you don't have to buy it with GTA$

 

Considering what I just said the Valentine's Day Massacre pack was NOT Free, for the reason that GTA$ can be bought with real cash it is safe to say that its NOT Free. If its similar to the Beach update, then yes but if you have to spend GTA$ it is not free.. Like I said above when I quoted myself, "The way they are doing it is if you do have to use real cash for something then you must buy a cash card"

 

FREE means no money or GTA$ will be used whatsoever.

plus when gtao launched rockstar has stated that most if not all add ons will be free. hence why they have cash cards. not everyone will buy dlc but might get cash cards to get the items these updates have so they can have all if not most of the "unique" items. that would be for people who can sit there and grind 4hrs a day rooftop rumble an the assorted missions over $10k

Yeah it's definitely not free. It says on the site that it'll be available on PSN and Live soon. I guess it'll be something like 5-8 bucks.

It only makes sense that way.. It would be entirely redundant and be a retarded redundant marketing nightmare to have cash cards only to release buyable DLC which you'd have to spend GTA$ on.. Cash cards are what will drive this game on its GTA online counterpart.. A new plane may cost 500k or more, a new attack chopper? Hunter? A couple million and people WILL buy cash cards for that.. I would.

I am not sure if this is going to be a free DLC like the rest of them, if it's not free I'll have to look the new additions made to the game to see if they are good.

By that i mean charge real $ for DLC like a car or a gun and then charge a high price for it in game so people resort to cash cards? That would not go over well. Thats why the DLC will be free.

Thats exactly what I am saying. thats why Cash cards exist! Well for online anyway. I have no clue how they will charge or if they even will charge for single player story content.. Maybe thats an entirely different game because most if not all the Online stuff was free for Single player.. right?? So possibly story mode content will be made purchasable through the PS Store and XBL Marketplace while Cash cards is strictly for content in GTA online. Theory.
