glenster Posted February 27, 2014 Share Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) I finally got a new computer built, put "GTA IV" on it, used the 1.0.4.0 patch since Internet messages indicated it's compatible with more mods, used OpenIV to replace the Voodoo with a '57 Chevy, checked grandtheftwiki for the changed handling.dat rules, un-checked the Read Only box for data and used Notepad to make the Chevy a better getaway car (faster and more durable; not more mass), and the changes don't take effect. The most obvious indication that the handling.dat changes aren't working is that the car will still burn and blow up after some demotion derby by police cars though the car has 0.0 for damage in all categories.
