zedscomet
So, yeah. I stumbled across something pretty neat a while back, and wanted to share it with my fellow neat freaks that weren't aware that this could be done. If you're like me, you're probably annoyed with having to sift through 4 different pistols to get that awesome Machine Pistol, or hastily select which of the 5 or so melee weapons you wanna stab / bash someone with. Why, oh WHY does ANYONE need so many of the same type of weapon?! Is there no hope? Well, there is! Upon my usual session of messing around, jumping into people head first as Trevor, that crazy bastard we all know and love, I stumbled on a neat little trick to essentially delete unwanted weapons from your weapon wheel. However, you're gonna first have to be ok with losing all your ammo, because, yup, that's right, you gotta get arrested. So go about your normal routine of tormenting the poor bastards of San Andreas until you get a one star wanted level. This is crucial, because if it's anything more, the cops first reaction is to shoot at you until they ultimately waste you. And we don't want that. Not now, at least. Also, you need to be on foot, because when you jump into a car, you usually default to a pistol or a grenade, and, unless thats the weapon you WANT to lose, it won't work. What I usually do is get the one star wanted level, select the weapon I want gone, then just stand in one place, and don't do a thing. When a cop goes in to arrest you, guns at the ready, your character will go through the motions, and assume the position... As he does, he drops the weapon he's currently holding, effectively dropping it out of his inventory altogether. When you respawn, you won't have the aformentioned weapon anymore. Neat, right? I thought so too. So, rinse and repeat until you have only the weapons you use regularly. Note: This little trick does NOT work with the weapons in some of the DLC's that were introduced recently, i.e. The Tommy Gun, that weird SNS pistol, or the broken bottle. Sadly, they're yours to keep. However, if you have at least one weapon that you DO want still in your inventory in each of those slots, they'll always be on top, so those undroppable weapons will always be out of sight unless you need them. Hope this helps in your future endevors! Pavle and Crimie
Pavle
I just lost all of my weapons one day when i loaded the game as Franklin.I don't know if it's a bug but I spent a lot of money on weapons and ammo after that.
zedscomet
Aye, I heard of that happening to people too. It's a really rare bug as far as I can tell.
chrisscorsese88
After installing the Valentine's Day pack, and loading up my save, I noticed each of my characters actually lost some weapons and ammo that I had to re-buy. Not a big deal to me, but still thought it was weird. Neat trick though, although I actually use most of my weapons from time to time.
Pavle
I lost my weapons a long time before the Valantine's Day Massacre DLC.It just happened.
killahmatic
I like having all weapons on me at once. I just wish it would save to the weapon you last used or most used in each category. I never use the micro smg and yet Franklin always defaults to it.
Th3MaN1
This is a neat trick, and quite a nice little detail R* added to the game, but why do you think time slows when you access the weapon wheel (at least in SP)? I don't find any problem with that. Also, IIRC, you can set your weapon for every slot, so the next time you switch from your pistol to your carbine, you won't have to scroll through every weapon. YESYESYES
I always lose my weapons with Michael when I try connecting to Online.... When fail to connect to online, it spawns me back to single player and I lose all ammo and weapons with the character I spawn with (Michael)... The most annoying thing ever!
