Godforbid I try to start my own race with catchup off. Ofcourse no one joins.

 

If you cant win a race without it then you shouldnt be f*ckin racing.

The reason for catch up is to give those who are upset about losing a chance. I prefer it turned off. If you are far behind too bad.

I bet most people don't even know what is CATCHUP and don't turn it off. The worst thing is that the CATCHUP is turned on by default, that is why most races has catchup

A side affect of being slowed down by catchup while in first place is that it is easier to take flawless corners, while the maroons in the back will be going faster and more likely take corners badly.

 

Personally, I prefer catchup off, but am not too bothered if it is on.

Me neither, I used to get all bothered by it but I've since adjusted my racing style to compensate for Catchup. It's surprising how often I destroy peoples laptimes even though I was in the lead the entire time. 4 way madness is a good example.
