There are plenty of discussions in here on this but this is a way to get down to the point. Do you or dont you. I understand what you mean.

 

This is going okay still a lot of reasons being given though. Its a straight forward easy question that can be answered yes or no. I tried to make it as unbiased and simple as possible I did add like/Agree with as in you have no issue with them.

But keep in mind this poll will be skewed (regardless of the outcome) mostly because this section is inhabited by modders/glitchers who mostly are against the idea.

Thanks for your explanation. I don't know how business actually work, perhaps you can explain what happens to that billion dollars? I mean, how much "royalties" does R* get with Take Two being the parent company?

No to supporting it, and not a fan of the people that buy them (because buying them just supports the broken system). Not a fan of cash cards in general but the right way to do them is on non-essential cosmetic items. R* on the other hand places essential items like cars behind GTA$ walls, and nerfs payouts; pushing you to get a cash card if you don't want to grind for hours on end. I should be able to get a car in a reasonable amount of time by playing any mode, not by running coveted or rooftop rumble over and over, and over again.

Thanks for your explanation. I don't know how business actually work, perhaps you can explain what happens to that billion dollars? I mean, how much "royalties" does R* get with Take Two being the parent company?

 

 

No one here actually knows.

But there a few educated guesses.

 

Simply put; the billion dollars is firstly taxed, so it's not really a billion bucks.

Secondly, it goes to Take-Two, who then a) reimburses itself the $260 million investment, pays off it's development debts (salaries, marketing, over-seas operations, distribution) and calculates it's end profit for their investors/shareholders (remember, those guys got convinced to pony up $260,000,000...they expect a huge profit for such a risky investment and Take-Two must debate how much is re-invested in other ventures & how much is banked).

Then, they have to meet with R* execs who will showcase them the future for their newest product & what else it can bring. R* must prove here that GTA V/Online is profitable enough to continue working on & keep server enabled. Imagine how hard it must be for R* to have to balance the task of giving free DLC to please fans while showing investors that they can somehow profit from this as well in order to still be in business. (thus, the creation of the shark cards. love 'em or hate 'em, they may well be a key factor to keep Online...online.)

but guess what? That's not the business model R* went with. They chose possible microtransactions over forced pay-dlc. It's their game, let them do what they want.

Buying currency is much better than glitching simply because it supports the developer, which in turn keeps the game I love alive.

Hell yeah I do, and always will, as long as they keep on updating the game, fixing exploits, and giving us DLC.
