GTA Olympics

[Soran Is On]

So I competed with my brosisters the QOTD in a gta Olympics last weekend. We had low opening parachute darts, oil derrick beam battle, and against traffic bmx races. It was tons of fun. (Got a gold medal in darts woot) anyhoo, it got me thinking of a couple le epic events.

 

Cargobob golf:

Competitors take vehicles up to the windmills with cargobobs and lower them into the blades. Judges call the distance and furthest drive wins. You can have up to 9 holes. Each hole a different windmill going a different speed.

 

Cargobob bowling:

At the construction site just east of the mall 2-3 cars are stacked up on the north edge of the bridge that runs over the highway. Competitors must cargobob a vehicle under the construction crane and release it into the stacked cars for a strike. Most strikes after 9 or 10 frames wins.

 

Also You could add bonus points for when vehicles explode on impact.

 

Anyone else got any bright ideas?

Tank rodeo?

 

Use a Cargobob to get to the top of Maze Bank and have someone in the tank spin the turret around and around, try to stay on for 5 seconds. First to stay on for that long wins

Underwater Knife Fight.

- Players jump off the pier into the ocean.

- Once you get killed or drown you are out.

- You can't come up for air.

- If you kill someone you are allowed to come up for air. Once per kill.

 

Players will compete to kill each other using knives. Have judges on sea sharks watching the area. If someone decides to swim far away they lose because you can only breathe if you kill someone.

 

Helicopter Roulette

- Each player has a helicopter a Frogger or Mallard.

- They line up in a single file line.

- A course is set through the windmill farm.

- The players take turns flying through the windmills if you get hit you die and are out.

- The winner finishes the course first or is the last one standing.

 

Cop Shootout

- 4 players stand at an intersection

- One facing in each direction

- They cannot move

- The goal is to survive the longest.

- The catch is whenever the judge tells them to each player must snipe one civilian.

- If you move from your spot you lose if you get killed by police you lose.

- Last man standing wins.

 

LandShark

- Each player has a SeaShark

Underwater Knife Fight.

- Players jump off the pier into the ocean.

- Once you get killed or drown you are out.

- You can't come up for air.

- If you kill someone you are allowed to come up for air. Once per kill.

 

Players will compete to kill each other using knives. Have judges on sea sharks watching the area. If someone decides to swim far away they lose because you can only breathe if you kill someone.

- They line up in a single file line.

- Optional make players hit NPCs on the beach for a point after three runs whoever kills the most NPCs using the seashark wins.

I couldn't make it to any Olympic events unfortunately. With the time zone difference a was slaving away at work while you were all gallivanting.

High stakes GTA long jump:

 

A helicopter or two are placed underneath various stunt jumps around the map. Using motorbikes competitors take turns clearing further and further jumps over the spinning blades. Furthest jump wins.

 

Could also be adopted to a GTA High jump where if the stunt jump type works well enough a chopper increases its height until competitors cant clear it anymore.

Take a helicopter up to maximum height, jump out and land in a swimming pool without opening your parachute.

Careful trolls are not used to sunlight and any talk of it will not be allowed.

 

What about curling with cars. Adjust speed,jump out and go for the gold.

So, the real thing at this point is that the actual Olympics are over, I didn't want to keep running it.

 

But, that doesn't mean we'll stop running crazy bat-sh*t events moving forward, I just want to change the name. After we get this done on the weekend, I'll start up a thread with some left over ideas from the old Olympic Ideas thread (listed at the top) and then add some from this thread.

 

Not sure what we'll call it, but the 'Olympics' has run it's course. Maybe something like the 'GTAO Mad World of Sports Series' or something like that. Then run them in a series and bring back top points peeps for a final etc... not sure, trying to get this series finished up atm.

Yup, the car curling was suggested in the original thread and is something we're looking at for the future events... That one though, you drive towards say... the Helipad at the airport, then have to jump out and let the car coast. Closest to the middle wins etc

 

ADDED; forgot to mention, it's not like we copyrighted the fckn idea, so if there's anyone from the PS3 side of things that wants to start one up, feel free to track me down for advice on running them. Trust me, a full lobby of trigger happy shooters is not an easy thing to keep under control lol. It's been a long road.
