Tunnel dwellers beware

Having read the stories of players using the underground to escape griefers and bounty hunters, you had best beware. I was mucking around for the last couple of days (turned level 70) and thought I'd see if I could get a tank down a tunnel (the one under the freeway. Surprised someone today doing this).

With a scrape and a grind you can patrol the subway in the tank, so as of now no one is as safe as they think (unless you are in a tank).

Tank can't get through certain spots in the tunnels though, there is only so far they can go.

yeah you might surprise them once but after you'll never catch anyone down there.

did you go to the area that's in the mission sinking feeling?

i have seen tanks in that area but not often

Why would anyone bother hiding in the tunnels? It's good for escaping police and maybe for a swift passage while having a bounty, but apart from that... I mean, if someone actually drove a tank down there it would only be their own headache

/to be honest I have only got to the front of that area via the new subway, but the gap at the back is too narrow. Coming from the other end there is a grate that impedes, but I haven't tried the loop that leads to the subway. Might give it a go tonight. As for dwelling I have heard stories of subway travel and camping to escape bounties. It could still be interesting to see what can be done with a tank in the tunnel. There are problems, but a well judged sneak attack or a defence from attackers could be worth a go.

That's the one I use. The subway entry at the building site near simeons is another good spot

Get behind tank, plant stickies while turret rams impotently into walls.

I only use the tunnels to jerk off with a friend.

in your case it would be spanking the monkey

Megakillertron

With the speed at which the Tank moves, wouldn't it be more efficient to just drive down there in a car or on a bike and flush them out?

Probably. If you want to get away then get to an open area and be safe knowing that the enemy will be coming from one of two ways (usually from behind).
