There is no drawback to tuning cars completely

If you put all upgrades on a car, then the car will be obviously a lot better, but there should be some upgrades that reduce others effectiveness. Like if you would put full engine on your car, then the car would be able to go faster, but there would be more wheel spin at the start. I would change the upgrades like this:

Engine: increases top speed, but increases wheel spin.

Transmission: Increases acceleration, but less grip in corners, but can be used with NOS.

Turbo: Increases acceleration completely, but cannot be used with NOS, supercharger or transmission.

Supercharger: Increases acceleration completely, but cannot be used with NOS, turbo or transmission

NOS: Gives the player a boost of speed, but can't be used with turbo, or supercharger.

Brakes: Lowers the time to slow the car down.

Suspension: Lowered - Reduces wheel spin, and lowers ground clearance. Lifted - Increases height, but reduces top speed.

Spoilers: Improve handling around corners, but reduce top speed slightly.

Offroad tires: Increases grip on dirt, but reduces acceleration on paved road.

Why in the world would a transmission make you slower on corners?

And why wouldnt you be able to use a turbo with NOS or a supercharger or transmission.

Thats more unrealistic than it is now.

I thought i read somewhere that BP tires make your car or bike go slower but it's probably bullsh*t

Welp, as far as tires go, there seems to be noticeable changes in how the car feels when you change tire type.

People also speculate that using carbon parts and not putting on armor decrease weight.

The lowered ground clearance is already there - drop a Coquette and see how many gutters you miss. It won't be many.

We need different tire types. Race slicks are the best in the dry, suck in the rain and are useless for offroad. Sports radials are good in the dry, ok in the rain and bad in the dirt.

There is not difference is performance between wheel types. It's all just cosmetic.

I never said it made you slower around corners. And the reason for no NOS with supercharger or turbo is because of balancing purposes. Because that would make it exactly the same as it is now. There has to be some drawbacks for some features.

Heh. Roof racked Tailgater.

?

You can't realistically race with a roof rack, I mean

Dude, this isn't Forza or Gran Turismo :p

That's not nearly close to the features in simulation games. But since GTA is the new NFS, and NFS is the new burnout, I think it's fair for GTA to have more mod options.

Less grip in corners = slower around corners. Transmissions have nothing to do with that.

Agree with you on wings should increase grip and decrease top speed.

I'd love for GTA to have more mod options, but I don't think it's the new NFS. It's far from. GTA will never be recognized as a racing game.

So no need to get all technical with the car mods, you know?

It's not getting all technical, it's called balancing. Car modding is a huge part of gta anyways.

My fully-modded Baller is a beast for Missions. Good for cover, and getting away from the cops either by outrunning or 4-wheeling. Love it.

There shouldn't be a penalty for having all the upgrades. It would complete bull to spend all that time in races to unlock them just to be punished.

No, they would be better with your style of racing. If you like long races, go for top speed, if you like short races with a lot of turns, go with acceleration and spoilers. It would make racing way more interesting than no modded cars and full modded cars.

No. I didn't spend all that time unlocking them to not be able to use them all. The system is fine the way it is... you want more in-depth racing then go play the simulators.

Riiigght.... ;)

And I can adjust boost on the turbo with my waste gate.

Also a 3 stage nitrous kit with MSD timing retard function.

Adjust gear ratio in differentials and transmissions.

Change tire diameter.

Change camshaft specs.

Nitrous and turbo or superchargers work fine together IRL. Why not in game.

The race suspension is supposed to lower the center of gravity to improve handling. Idk if the physics of that are programmed into game. I think it is, being heavier taller vehicles tend to roll more on turns.

False on all accounts.

I tested the Armor idea. I raced with and without...... No difference on my end.

That isn't just an 'idea'. It's been confirmed by Rockstar's. Brian B. On several threads in the Rockstar support forum. Also, the iFruit app shows the difference as well.

Not really. The carbon parts do make a difference in car weight, but it's minuscule - same as with armor. GTA V vehicles possess a plethora of hidden stats which many, not knowing they even exist, take for granted, looking only at the inaccurate and watered down four in LSC graphic.

Here are the real vehicle stats - taken straight from game values.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AlUQhOXwk9_ndDNQX3dfbC1KTjAtY2J3QVN6QVFCVlE

A couple of interesting tidbits from that:

A) The fastest vehicle 'max velocity' in game is 160mph (Adder and most choppers), which explains why people struggle to break 150mph without slipstreams, even with supercars and motorbikes.

B) Adder's top speed (160mph) is only 5mph faster than an Entity (155mph), and is only 7mph faster than the Cheetah (153mph), all despite Adder having an 8.6 LSC top speed rating, compared to Entity's 8.3 and Cheetah's 8.2.

C) Carbonizzare's top speed (158mph) is 3mph faster than the 9F, despite them having a same exact 'top speed' LSC rating (at 8.5)

Engine: increases top speed, but increases wheel spin.

With a Carbo You'd just sit on the Line wheels spinning for the whole of the race
