Insurance Bills

They are starting to piss me off. Earn 6000 for doing a mission just to lose 12000 on insurance. Everytime there is a prick in a tank that kills me and the game makes me pay for insurance! Tjis game is quickly becoming a chore as you lose more and gain less because missions get 'nerfed'.

It is pathetic and you cant even go around in free roam without some idiot trying to kill you.

Maybe you don't always roll around in a Super (Adder). Or maybe FR isn't for you. I play a lot of Invite/Closed sessions myself.

A lot of damn good rides that cost <$3K to replace.

I try to only take my supers out if I'm not up to any mischief.

my sultan costs me $150 dollars when it gets destroyed, works great for free roam, i even use it in invite only cause friends get explosion happy at times, you should consider using a less expensive car when free roaming, play with the expensive ones not around others

yup. In public freeroam I'm either in my Sultan ($150 insurance cost), my Ratloader ($0 insurance cost) or in a stolen car. The Entity only comes out to play for missions and invite only sessions.

There's plenty of well paying missions.

That's your fault for driving an Adder near a slow moving dot, emitting a "Boom... Boom.. Boom" sound as it edges closer.

Stay away, don't use the most expensive cars, or find a new session when said tank is near.

since most my last posts where about the "R* Money Train" trying to force more money out of our pockets, it seems wise to start with:

in the end i like gtao, it's variety, graphics and dynamics are sometimes amazing ! (but still if i couldnt glitch the needed money i would have probably stopped playing some time ago)

Why should we pay for being blown up by a tank, not ride our favorite vehicle in fear of a bill ?

as i understand sometimes its a "freak" glitch but when its because the tank driver has no money i think wtf ?

why not just go negative on the bank balance, the player wouldnt be able to call a new tank and forced to work for his fun

for some more punishment they could even give him a permanent 1star wanted level for being in debt untill the balance is positive again

*make tanks accessible from level 10,15,..? to avoid new accounts

also i think tanks are so tough they should have lock-on with lazers, buzzards and even rpg's

Well you have a number of options.

  1. Play in a invite only session
  2. As soon as you see a tank switch sessions
  3. Drive a less expensive car so if it is blown up it wont cost you $12,000

I usualy drive either my Sandking, Baller, Dominator or Akuma when im just free roaming as if it gets destroyed by a tank or myself it wont cost much to replace.

Walk

better yet, don't leave ur appartement

Plenty of good TV on, and you surf that internet, or just listen to some tunes while you get high/drunk/healthy.

"Pathetic"? Why, because we don't want to spend tens of thousands of dollars to replace them? F*ck, man, I drive my supers around plenty. Just not when I am planning on looking for a fight or getting into a dangerous mission. It's just being smart.

No i didn't mean it like that, i meant that it's pathetic you can't enjoy what you have without being concerned about the insurance prices..

Haha ok fair call, just seems to take away some of the fun in my opinion.

sometimes people enjoy one car more than another and it happens to be cheaper

So simple, avoid or be smart in FR and only drive <$2k to replace cars. Nearly all muscles and several sports are $2k or less. Also never drive anything chrome. Tanks can lock onto chrome.

That's not the point i'm making though, these guys are intentionally avoiding their expensive cars because they fear it'll take all of their cash away when it's destroyed. Grinding to replace your cars is ridiculous.

I don't know about you guys but I think Mors Mutual are going to go bankrupt soon. They keep replacing my cars on a daily (game day) basis, no questions asked.

I always think to myself when I get a large insurance bill if I should drive a cheaper car, but then I think on the flipside that the sticky bomb happy people will blow me up more often if they don't have to pay a large sum. If I get a bounty put on me and I decide to be difficult, I usually end up getting blown to bits with my car.

I know getting taken out by a Lazer/Buzzard (either missile or bullets) that I end up paying.

Seems with tanks lately that it's a 50/50 shot on who pays the insurance bill. I normally stay away from tanks, but there are those times when they aren't firing and you come across their dot and boom.

I like to drive my Supers (esp. my Entity) in FR because I'm in and out of missions pretty frequently and dislike going back to the garage pretty much at all.

This month so far I've had to pay around 10 times... probably 1 or 2 were my own doing.

you don't have to, but based on the current set of rules that we have to work with, that's what I do. I expect R* to continually tweak the insurance rules over time to find a balance.

Some of these replies make me laugh.

Basically, don't play the game - that's what your saying. Don't drive your favourite car - what drive a rust bucket Tornado? f*ck that and f*ck you.

I gave up on GTA O. too little pay, too much expenditures. Got boring tbh. It got to a point where i'd get 5K if i'm lucky (i had a reoccurring bug that halved any payouts, even on missions i'd never done before), but buying ammo and armor cost about 3 K. It was just not worth it. Now not even heists interest me.

Some work arounds people come up with are just plain retarded. Some dickhead blew up your beloved heavily modded Vacca? That sucks. Especially what you have to do to unlock upgrades and how much they cost and how little money you get.
Driving a lesser car is a stupid solution. What, I'm going to ditch my favourite supercar to instead drive around a Emperor? f*ck off.

(The bottomeline problem isn't the game but people - people are dicks. They'll shoot you for the hell of it "These kids man, they shotgun you just to see you fly up in the air.")
And i suspect most are kids - those who have all the time in the world after school; i doubt many people who work 8-10 hours a day, come home, cook dinner and clean the house, log on to GTA for probably 1 hr of gaming just to grief some random guy....

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

What gangster drives a bugatti veyron to a blag? Tailgater, baller, stanier, Oracle, these are the kind of cars gangsters actually use in their criminal activities! Well the real life equivalents anyway ;-)
