BarelyLegal
So I'm a big fan of Underground Hip Hop (Aesop Rock, being my favourite), and recently discovered Trip Hop. For anyone who's never heard of it, Trip Hop is essentially Instrumental Hip Hop, usually electronic-based, although real instruments are known to be used; and even full-on Orchestras on occasion. Trip Hop can also include vocals, although these are usually simple words, singing or phrases, instead of actual rap lyrics. I've got a ton of Trip Hop artists/songs that I'd love to share with you guys, but unfortunately only two YouTube videos can be linked per post. Here is my current favourite two, and I will post two more every time someone replies to this thread. What Trip Hop are you guys into? Feel free to share! ShadowDog94
Seems like a good genre. I haven't listened to it much, but I do like Massive Attack.
BarelyLegal
Massive attack are fantastic, long-time fan of MA. Couple more: I highly recommend this song, it's beauty is beyond words. The drums, the flutes, the song just makes me get covered in goose-bumps. Ridiculously well-made. This one's more the darker side of Trip Hop. Such differences between both songs, still very much Trip Hop. The strings at 1:55 are raw, I love them. grasseyeball
Thievery Corporation are pretty rad. Look up the Cosmic Game. Great track. Nightmares on Wax are pretty awesome too. Not exactly Trip Hop, more so IDM, but definitely check out Boards of Canada, Amon Tobin, Emancipator, and Bonobo. You won't be sorry.
Mr. Scratch
Now these are not strictly trip hop but they're two of the best from Romania.
BarelyLegal
I've been listening to Bonobo for a long time, his music speaks a thousand words. One of my favourite tracks from him, from his Black Sands Remixed album: Another amazing track: I seriously recommend literally all of his albums. They're all phenomenal in their own way. Black Sands is more Orchestral, to The North Borders which is more Electronic. Brilliant, brilliant music.
Mr. Scratch
I think I'll get to see him live in June, should be good.
Shah Sam
I started to listen to" Muy Tranquilo" and" Hit That Jive" by Gramatik after visiting this thread. I like those two songs.
