is this seriously that hard of a concept to understand?

in order to access the free online mode, you must purchase GTAV.

Once purchased, the disc includes a license for the purchaser to access the online version of the game.

 

again, you can argue this until you are blue in the face

but what you FEEL you purchased happens to be different from what you ACTUALLY purchased.

and the confusion is with you alone

 

You don`t own either. You lease online AND offline.

There is none, not on RSC anyway. Does anybody recall clicking "I ACCEPT" when they first joined Social Club? Well, that right there negated any "freedoms" you might have thought you had on their website.

 

clicking accept means you void any and all rights and agree to their terms of we can do whatever, whenever, for no reason at any time without warning and there is nothing you can do about it.

There is a reason it says "featuring GTAO" on the packaging. Same reason R* made sure people knew not all features would be available at launch.

 

The eula basically tells you "features" can be discontinued or no longer made available at anytime or some horsesh*t like that,so once you click "accept" you acknowledge the fact they could pull plug at anytime.

Not in agreement here. You pay for GTA Online as well since it was part of the original reason you purchased GTA V for. Had they never provided GTA Online, then that's a huge issue after the push they gave it.

Just bc you decided you were buying GTA V for the online does not mean you paid for it.

 

Whether you like it or not (some people have an issue coping with this concept) you paid for GTA V (offline) and Rockstar includes an online version to supplement the experience

 

I cannot stress this enough, no matter how much you want it to be true, you are not entitled to a single f***ing thing in regards to the online portion. So sit back, relax and enjoy things as they come. Bc they could pull the plug tomorrow if they wanted, and we couldnt do a single thing about it

 

 

Take a look at your copy of GTA V. On the back, it clearly states "Featuring Grand Theft Auto Online". Sure sounds like you paid for it with your original copy to me. Not including future DLC.

 

So yes. We DID pay for GTA Online. Good lord, do any of you people READ?

i see online play as a "bonus" I buy games for the single player, & play the online (if it's any good) after I'm done. I've got more than 10 games with HORRIBLE online play, but I don't feel I've been wronged.

@Siray, regarding your OP (or a part of it). I disagree wholeheartedly that things like the snapmatic contest results don't belong in newswire. These sorts of community engaging pieces should receive the amount of exposure that they do now, because these sorts of things are great - at least the idea behind them anyway, and are news of a sort. I can understand where you are coming from - this isn't the news you personally want. And that's okay.

Guess what, I paid my drivers license but being able to use it is a privilege that can be taken away or amended at anytime

 

Just as I am not entitled to drive we are not entitled to gtao

DMV can take away your license (it belongs to them)but they can't take away your right to travel the highways and byways of the U.S.

They will try and say otherwise but the truth is DMV is a private entity and cannot infringe on your constitutional rights.

Not arbitrarily. Not in my country, anyway. NOBODY can take away my physical driver`s licence or my right to drive without showing good cause. One is theft and is easily fixed by declaring it stolen, then apply for a new one, which will be given automatically - I can still drive, based on a temporary driver`s licence. The other is my legal right to drive, after having met all the necessary tests. It is my right, not my privilege. Any policeman pulling me over has to prove that I am committing a violation that is punishable with a driver`s licence withdrawal, based on the current driving laws. It would be abuse of power in that case... it will be the end of his career.

 

In my country I OWN both things: the physical proof of my right to drive AND my actual right to drive. I can drive while holding a temporary driver`s licence, which is given as a result of my right to drive.

 

Things are different in a game, because you forfeit your rights.
