some kid got burnt in a local park some years back. Turkish people always killing each other for drug territory. frequent muggings. pot holes everywhere. not much graffiti these days. rains a lot. cars do crash alot cause everyones in a rush...

so yeah... a little bit like gta 4, cause its grim. not like gta 5 where its happy happy.

I wish! My city (Norwich) is f*cking boring. I'd love some action around here, not just watching people argue over drinking too much WKD

There's no place in the world as dangerous as in GTA.

Yeah, unless someone lives in a war zone, there is no chance that there are going to be battles with military grade weapons on the streets, tank rampages and fighter jets and attack helicopters flying around.

Not even remotely.

I live in a suburb about a half hour from downtown Montreal, and it's really quiet here. We're surrounded by a couple of semi-significant towns that can be somewhat dangerous at night, but not here. In the town's history the worst thing that's happened was a small bank was robbed while a couple of cars were torched simultaneously about 6 months ago. Still, I'm a paranoid person by nature so I always lock our doors at night.

Newark, New Jersey .. my hometown :)

Either that or Camden, NJ. You drive in the wrong places, it's likely you won't be driving a car anymore. Shoot outs, drug dealing, gentrification, understaffed police, etc..

yes and no there is no tanks and sh1t but it can be bad. I would say the closest would be San Francisco or Oakland. San Jose is pretty bad also

I used to live in Caracas, Venezuela. I moved because it was too f*cking dangerous.

In 2012, Caracas was considered the 3rd most dangerous city in the world by the Citizen Security Council, Justice and Peace, with a murder rate of 119 homicides per 100,000 people.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caracas

Some zones are like Los Santos, except that 2/3 of the police officers are like Tenpenny and Pulaski.

Hmmm nice bike

I live in Chicago, so if you've seen anything about it on the news, you'd know. The downtown area and a lot of other places here are really quite nice and safe for the most part, but then the ghettos are where it gets very dangerous, especially over the summer. I forgot how many shootings there were last weekend, too many. Most of it is gang related.

Tony! I'm from Chicago also. 4th of July weekend 82 people were shot. 16 were killed. They call Chicago Chiraq. But Tony is exactly right. It's almost all gang related. The city is absolute hell if you live on the west side or certain parts of the south side. The rest really is very safe. Especially downtown. I grew up and still live on the northwest side. It's very safe. It's a great place to raise a family.

As for gang bangers killing gang bangers, nobody is going to shed a tear. The tragedy is all of the innocent people who get killed by stray bullets or with drive by shootings where they'll chop up an entire house with AK-47s and Uzis often killing innocent family members of the intended target. The majority of people on the west and south sides are great hardworking people. They're hostages to the scum of this city.

Well I live in South Africa, in a small town that's like an hours drive from Cape Town. I live 1 block away from one of the most dangerous places in our town. I hear the occasional gunshot every now and then on a weekend, but mostly its pretty quiet. Friday night I actually heard a gunshot, and that's not even the worst.

I think it was in May IIRC, I was playing Fallout NV in the living room at 2am. I exited an interior and there was a loading screen and there was silence. Then I heard a gun go off 5 times! Now one of our windows in the living room points to that place, so I ducked my head a bit lol.

Now I've never been robbed or anything but my cousin almost got killed in front of my grandmas home. He was walking to the shop that's just over the road. It was almost midnight. He saw two black men walking up to him, and one had a long knife. They didn't even say anything and the one guy was trying to get my cousin on the floor. The other guy was standing at the back and lifted his arm to stab. My cousin saw this in the corner of his eye, and held the guys arm with all his strength. He hit the guys hand multiple times until the knife fell. When he got loose, he ran away.

I was shocked after he told me all of this, and he's only 15! But like I said, its mostly quiet apart from gunshots and stabbings. No bank robberies or people driving tanks or anything.

I used to live in Baghdad. Imagine GTA with the "mad traffic" cheat, and where all the gangs were replaced with militants with the military-grade weapons that you only get later on in GTA games. But those weren't the biggest problem - car bombs and paramilitary death squads were. The police would be replaced by various infantry forces, and the wanted levels would be either zero stars or six stars - with nothing in between.

I am so glad to be out of that city, and country as a whole.

I can understand how peaceful serenty might seem boring, but the excitement of instability, crime, and violence doesn't make up for the constant fear for your and your love ones' lives IMO.

Stockholm?? Not really, I live in the more western area, so nothing dangerous around here. Although there are just very few with small time, and VERY small time crews around, nothing that super dangerous.

I wouldn't say it's as dangerous but lately here in Manchester, NH there's been a rise in shootouts and drug busts.

Thankfully not, just a peaceful residential village (Euxton, Lancashire) in the north of England. It's closer to Chorley which probably has a few problems with chavs here and there, but nothing serious like shootings or stabbings. However, my friend did get jumped and beaten up once, while out drunk after midnight.

I have visited certain US cities like New York City, Orlando and Tampa. However, I'm certain those places are very safe compared to Detroit, Philadelphia or St. Louis.

GTA has it's own persona, I don't know off hand of any real city with that much crime, and civility at the same time, though some cities do come close. Chicago, L.A., New Orleans, Atlanta, and can't forget central Jersey. :miranda:

As common sense would tell, the more seedy the area, the more crime, (upfront) The higher end you go, the more (behind the scene) the crime goes, in other words, "White-Collar" crime.

The southern border of the U.S. though, that place is branded into my mind, as the most dangerous place, I've been to, so far. The gas well areas of the upper mid-west can get pretty hectic too, it isn't often I can see somebody get impaled in the neck with a pool cue, by a guy that takes other's confessions at the church nearby. One thing for sure, the "Old Western" mentality, never left this place..... :bbq:

I don't currently, but I lived in a pretty ghetto area of Berlin right when I was born, we left soon afterwards.

As dangerous as a GTA city? Not even close. I'm not sure of really any cities that are that bad. But where I'm from it's usually just a boring and conservative type of city. It is 99% safe for the most part. There are a few shady areas but really nothing compared to some of the bigger cities. A couple years back I remember this though. Just a bunch of drunk college punks wrecking the place.

Nope Pittsburgh is not all that bad if you know the ins & outs of the city. The Northside, parts of the Southside, & over by the East end can get schetchy & long as you mind your own your be alright. Its definitely safer than Cleveland & Philly.

Johannesburg, South Africa.

Statistically speaking, I'm probably a criminal.

Seriously though, I've never been a victim of any serious crime. Just don't go into the properly shady areas and be smart, you'll probably be fine then.

Right now, nope, the KSA is really low on crime.

In Egypt though, yeah I'd have to be careful, grand theft auto is quite a fashion there, my dad almost had his rented car stolen during our vacation there.

I live in Mexico, so it's kinda GTA but to be honest where I live it's not as bad as in the northern parts of the country, that's where the narcos live.

This may be off topic but sometimes I have the feeling that I'll get murdered :/

Presuming you mean Norwich UK? Yeah, it's pretty boring to live around here. Not that I'm complaining about the lack of crime mind.

I don't think it's possible. I've lived in good and sh*tty areas. Between living in Flint and Detroit MI, then later living and working around the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I've seen my share. I've never seen people doing drive by shootings and sending people with sticky bombs on their backs into apartment buildings though. At least not in the middle of the day, and thankfully it was always at least a few blocks away. sh*t ain't cool, dawg.

I will say that being from rough areas, you're not as aware of other rough areas when you come upon them. It seems "normal". That said, I remember driving through East St. Louis, MO on more then one occasion and wanting to get the f*ck out fast. I swear that whole east side looks like some of the worst parts of Flint/Detroit. Maybe it was seeing it and knowing that I knew no one. I don't know. The whole vibe was freaky though. I felt a sigh of relief when I got into downtown. For anyone looking for a crime destination, you need look no further in the continental U.S. Have at it, kids. Give Detroit a break.

I'm currently back in Michigan living just outside of Pontiac, which isn't great either, but I can't complain. Where I'm at I can't hear the gunshots.
