gtamann123
Rockstar Games Presents A Rockstar North Production Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC Release: Fall 2018 (Console) Summer 2019 (PC) ESRB: M PEGI: 18 Setting: Philadelphia Metro Area 1983-1984 Protagonists: 3 Grand Theft Auto: Brother In Blood is my latest GTA concept thread. After the overwhelming success of GTA V Rockstar decides to take players back in time to Philadelphia (Known as Bennington in game) in the early 1980s. Fulfilling the wishes of many fans who hoped the next game in the franchise would be a period piece. I chose this setting because the early 80s were an interesting time in the United States. Cold war tensions were arguably at an all time high with two successive Olympic boycotts And the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. While back on the home front many blue collar workers found themselves out of work and unemployment reached as high as 10.5%. Economic woes were centered mainly in the northern industrial centers which came to be collectively known as "The Rust Belt" while on the opposite end of the spectrum fortunes were being made on Wall Street and new technologies were creating terrific opportunities for those who had money. I chose Philadelphia/Camden because I believe that it is a somewhat untouched setting in the GTA franchise. This was a time period in which America's cities were arguably at their ugliest and A depressed dilapidated urban environment on par with those seen in Manhunt has not been seen in GTA. This setting presents that opportunity. The story of Brother In Blood follows the three Tomasetto brothers from South Bennington. Vincent, The oldest of the trio and the brains of the operation. Michael, The second oldest and the level headed muscle who tends to do whatever Vinny tells him to. And Thomas, The baby of the family and the wildest of the bunch. He has a love of fast cars and bar room brawls. The brothers work for the Cavaletti family of South Bennington. An influential mafia family who controls the majority of South Benny and rules with an Iron fist. The oldest brother is a made man in the family. A fact which makes both of his brothers green with envy although they don't show it. As the first Grand Theft Auto game released on next gen consoles it is one of the first games to flex the muscle of the 8th generation of consoles and show what they can really do. The game map is roughly the same size of Grand Theft Auto V but with almost complete development. All the way from the dense urban core of Bennington to the quiet spread out suburban streets of Weavertown or Raventon. All of it modeled in painstaking detail and visual diversity. No more wasted space on empty mountain ranges or open deserts. Creating the perfect backdrop for a gritty mob tale and whatever misadventures the brothers may find themselves in during their rise through the criminal underworlds. I hope you enjoy the concept thread and as always, Any feedback, Even negative, Is appreciated. And If you would like to contribute please don't hesitate. It would be a chance to get your name in the credits. As stated before the game takes place in a portion of the Philadelphia Metropolitan area as it appeared in the early 1980s. Late 1983 and early to mid 1984 to be specific. The setting features a wide diversity of environments from gated communities in affluent suburbs all the way down to the rusted out and dilapidated areas of Carcer City. Its all here. Below you will find a detailed breakdown of both core cities and their districts. As well as their outlying suburbs. Bennington "The City Of Brotherly Love" Founded: 1682 State: Quakervania (QV) Population (1980): 1,688,210 Mayor: Ross Franklin (D) Located Approximately 200 miles southwest of Liberty City and Internationally known by its nicknames "The City Of Brotherly Love" and "The Cradle Of Liberty" Bennington was one of the first major cities in the American Colonies and quickly grew into one of the British Empire's most important port cities and played a crucial part in the growth of American Culture and the winning of American independence. The location of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the drafting of the American Constitution the city id engraved in American culture as an important city. Once a thriving industrial and commercial center it became a destination for thousands of Immigrants from overseas as well as for Black Americans fleeing the post civil war south. Creating a diverse set of neighborhoods and making the city one of America's most vibrant and exciting places to live. The population peaked at over 2 Million in the 1950s but with the growth of the suburban lifestyle and worsening economic conditions in the cities Industrial base the city gradually began to lose large amounts of it's population and large areas of the city grew abandoned and neglected. At the onset of the 1980s the situation hasn't improved at all and has only gotten worse. Large amounts of the population remain unemployed and desperate to get by. Often resorting to crime to put food on the table and keep the lights on. The city is currently in the midst of a violent turf battle between the major mafia families that control the majority of organized crime in the city. As well as several local street gangs who want their piece of the action. Corruption is also rampant within the city government and police force. With every one from the Smallest local beat cop to the Mayor himself being in the Mafia's back pocket. Downtown Bennington The urban core of the city and the cities center of business. Recent economic conditions seem to have largely unaffected most of the Downtown core as skyscrapers continue to pop up on the skyline. Believed by many to influenced by the powerful Mafia families and union bosses. Home to powerful financial and trading firms it is a common sight to see men dressed in suits reading the newspaper as they make their way to work as well as fancy luxury cars cruising the streets. Notable Landmarks Include: Freedom Hall Location of the signing of the Declaration Of Independance Market Building Second tallest building in the city behind city hall City Hall Tallest building in the city due to a gentleman's agreement forbidding the building of anything taller. But that has been waived recently and new buildings are being constructed. Construction Of Liberty Place A Large construction site of the newest skyscraper. Plays an important role in the storyline. South Bennington The Southern portion of the city and one of the poorest. Home to a large population of Italians the area is mostly controlled by the Cavaletti family who have owned the area for decades. Contains many diverse neighborhoods and its character is mostly made up of 18th and 19th century row houses and narrow streets similar to those in Europe. Plays a major role in the storyline as the home base of the Tomasetto boys and the Cavaletti family. The district also contains a large meat packing district with many now defunct slaughterhouses sitting dilapidated and forgotten. Drug addiction and abuse plays a major role in shaping the culture of the district and drug dealers and junkies can be seen wandering the streets at night. Notable Landmarks Include: Tomasetto Family Home The childhood and current home of the Tomasetto boys who live their with their mother. The boys all moved back in when their father passed away a year and a half before the story starts. Sal's Italian Meats A meat shop owned by the brother's uncle Salvatore. Lets just say more than just beef and pork has been stored in the freezer.... Carbonetti's One of the main front's of the Cavaletti family the Don's office is located above the restaurant so it serves as a common meeting place for the family. Vaughn's Bar A local Dive bar frequented by the Tomasetto brothers. Has been the site of many drunken brawls over the years. King Of Spades Gentleman's Club Owned by a friend of Mikey's the Club is used as a front for the sale of Cocaine by the Cavaletti family. Soldier's Stadium Home stadium of the cities football and baseball teams. West Bennington Another impoverished and crime ridden section of the city. Largely controlled by the Mazetta family but also has a large amount of African American street gangs. Similar in character to South Bennington except a little more specious. The district also serves as the center of the cities prostitution business (controlled by a secretive commision of pimps known only as "The Set") and similarly to the Southside of the city it is also struggling with a drug problem. Homicide is common and the local police are just as corrupt as the local gangsters. Notable Landmaks Include: West Bennington Community Center The homebase of the African American street gang "49th street Disciples" who ally with the Cavaletti family to drive out the Mazetta family. North Bennington A formerly booming industrial center that has since seen substantial decline in local industry. This has led the district to follow most of the rest of the city into crime. Has no real mafia influence and is fought over by a handful of African American and Hispanic street gangs. Battle lines are often drawn up block by block as the gangs scrap for any small amount of territory to expand their drug and woman trafficking operations. Notable Landmarks Include: None at this time Northeast Bennington One of the more affluent districts of the city. Home to a larger white population than most areas of the city and has much lower levels of crime. But that doesn't mean its immune. The district is ruled ruthlessly by the O'Neil crime family who controls the lucrative business of importing bootlegged liquor from their homeland of Ireland. In fact the Irish gangsters are known to be so violent and unforgiving that no one has even thought of challenging their rule of the area for decades. Notable Landmarks Include: Stackhouse Hotel Ground zero of the O'Neils brother's distribution of fine bootlegged Irish liquor. Carcer City "The Heart Of American Industry" Founded: 1828 State: Alderney (AY) Population (1980): 84,910 Mayor: Reed Dawkins (D) Once a thriving industrial and residential center located just across the Wilmington river from Bennington. In recent years it has experienced substantial economic beatdown and now unemployment and poverty run rampant. Vast areas of the city sit abandoned and left to rot. Crime is out of control and entire neighborhoods are turned into war zones between gangs. Almost every issue Bennington experiences can be magnified ten fold in Carcer. Even the mayor and his entire organization is on drugs and in the backpocket of their dealers. And the police force is well known to make a little extra money on the side selling coke to junkies. Central Carcer The urban core of Carcer City. Or what is left of it. Entire 10 story high rises sit vacant aside from junkies looking to get out of the cold. The only real companies left around are the ones that cannot afford to leave and the local government make up the population of the downtown core. Notable Landmarks Include: None at this time South Carcer The most impoverished section of Carcer. Almost entirely a ghost town aside from a few pockets of junkies and the dealers who supply them. And the gangs fighting over who gets to supply the dealers. It takes a brave soul to venture into this area of the city during the daylight. Venturing in during the night is almost guaranteed suicide. Notable Landmarks Include: None at this time North Carcer The most civilized area of Carcer. Which isn't saying much. It is still a rundown and dilapidated section of the city but still maintains somewhat of a population. Home to just as many gang members and drug dealers as it does honest citizens. Notable Landmars Include: Alderney State Penitentiary-Carcer City Suburbs The Bennington metropolitan area is home to many suburbs outside of the main core cities. These areas offer a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle, And crime. That plagues the inner city. There are suburbs on both the Alderney and Quakervania sides of the river and all feature people that commute into Bennington on a daily basis as well as few industries of their own. Rates of Unemployment, Poverty, as well as crime are all much lower in these communities. These cities have a lot more greenspace and are made up of mostly single family homes. Raventon State: Quakervania Population (1980): 23,214 A working class suburb located immediately outside of West Bennington. A few of the problems that plague the inner city have found there way onto the streets of Raventon. But the city still maintains a quite suburban feel to it. Sherryville State: Quakervania Population (1980): 22,640 Located to the south of Raventon and the official address for the international airport. Like its neighbor Raventon it is also a working class suburb made up of quite a few blue collar workers. Tommy moves here with his girlfriend mid way through the storyline. Tommy and Courtney's house Bradleydale State: Quakervania Population (1980): 47,985 Larger than both Raventon and Sherryville and also more affluent. Home to many middle class as well as upper middle class residents. Home to large single family homes with perfect lawns. Over achieving students and bullsih portfolios. Mikey eventually buys a house in this town when he decides to leave the family and settle down. But his decision only draws the violence of the inner city out into the quiet streets. Mikey's Split level North Hampton State: Quakervania Population (1980): 39,653 The most affluent of Bennington's inner ring suburbs. Has one of the highest median incomes of any city in the US and the world for that matter. Home to many gated communities and private schools as well as one of the most exclusive country clubs on the east coast. Fancy cars are a common sight on the streets. Home to the don of the Cavaletti family's private residence. Don's House Weavertown State: Quakervania Population (1980): 31,741 While not as affluent as it's neighbor to the West it still holds a respectable amount of middle class residents. One of the first major commuter suburbs built right at the beginning of the suburbia boom it maintains an important position in American culture as a "model suburb" Lesserside State: Alderney Population (1980): 34,490 Located outside of North Carcer this town carries a distinctly blue collar and working class feel. As one of the older suburbs in the metro Many of the houses are older and carry an early 20th century character. Has a higher crime rate than most other suburbs but looks like Disneyland compared to Carcer City itslef. Apple Hill State: Alderney Population (1980): 28,548 Another Working class suburb locate outside Carcer City. Has had some spill over of crime from the inner city bu still maintains a quiet suburban feel to it. Vinny purchases the family a home here for them to use as a base of operations for expansion into Carcer. Maria Tomasetto "Mama" The mother of the Tomasetto boys. She met Joseph Tomasetto while living on the southside of Bennington and they married in the summer of 1953 with their first son being born a year later. Her and Joseph tried to treat the boys right and keep them from falling into a life of crime but times were tough in the household. Joe bounced around from odd job to odd job and eventually the boys had to start helping out to pay the bills and a life of crime was there for the picking. She has been depressed since the death of her husband and the boys all moved back in with her. Francis Cavaletti "Frankie" The son of the current Don of the Cavaletti crime family. He supplies more outlandish weaponry to Bennington's criminals. His operations are closely monitored by the Cavaletti family who handle the distribution of his weapons and takes a cut. Oscar Rosenbaum "The Lawyer" The 48 year old Jewish lawyer who has been representing the Cavaletti family for years now. He's one of the main reasons the family has been able to maintain a relatively low incarceration rate over the years and his paychecks prove his worth to the family. They used to rival the Cavaletti's in overall influence on the criminal underworld but since have been pushed back to smaller operations due to crackdown by the FIB and competition from smaller street level gangs. Word on the street is that an all out war with Cavalettis is brewing and both sides are in an arms race to gather as many weapons and allies as they can before that happens. O'Neil Family Type: Irish Mafia Notable Members: James O'Neil, Kevin McConners Territories: Northeast Bennington Operations: Bootlegging, Smuggling, Racketeering, Armed Robbery One of the largest and most powerful Irish Mob families on the East Coast. Storyline The main storyline of Brothers In Blood consists of several chapters. This makes it easier for the game to nudge the story further and advance through the different seasons. With each chapter containing somewhere between 10-25 individual missions. Some missions include all 3 brothers together. Some with two and some with only one. You can find links to the individual missions below. Prologue We meet the Tomasetto brothers at a local playground in South Benny in the year 1968 and learn about Melee combat. But the events of New Years eve 1983 has left the Tomasetto brothers in hot water with the Cavaletti family leadership. But a new enemy rearing its head will put and internal issues within the family on the backburner. Bull Market Out of the fire The gameplay of BIB is what you would expect from a next gen GTA game with an emphasis on open world freedom as well as cutting edge graphics and physics. Characters handle and control realistically. Weapons behave realistically. Cars handle as you would expect cars from the early 1980s to handle. Usually slow and with boat like suspension. Physics and AI have been greatly improved. Shoot someone in the leg and they will limp around slowly. Shoot them in the gun arm and the may switch over to the other arm to shoot. It all comes out to create a more realistic and intense gameplay experience. Communication Being set in the early 80s cell phones are not a gameplay feature. The large brick like Dynatac phone seen in Vice City is only visible in cutscenes and being used by some business men in the financial district downtown. In place of a cell phone each protagonist carries a pager and a little black book full of their contacts. When a character needs to contact a protagonist they page them and tell them they need to speak to them. You can them head to a $1 payphone anywhere around the city (Or a telephone located in some buildings and the characters homes) and press the action button. This brings up the contact book. The contacts who have paged you appear as red and at the top of the book indicating that you need to call them. Or you can scroll through your book and find a contact you want to phone. You can also pull up the keypad on the phone and dial a number. Intimidation/Persuasion One of the main gameplay elements is Intimidation and Persuasion. You can aim weapons at certain NPCs and get them to bend to your wishes. Or you can verbally insult or threaten them by pressing down on the D-pad to increase their intimidation level. Once a character is intimidated you can command them by pressing up on the D-pad and then selecting an action in the environment (Such as unlocking a door, Opening a safe, Calling someone, becoming a human shield etc.) it works similar to the buddy system in the newest South Park game. Vinny also has a special ability where he can attempt to reason with certain characters such as police, rival gang members etc. and avoid violence. The mini game is started by pressing the special ability button in appropriate situation. The mini game works like a quick time event. Mini-Games The player can partake in a variety of mini games across the city. These range from simple bar games to gambling in a mafia ran casino downtown. Below is a list of Mini games and who can partake in them. Pool Available to: All Every protag can play a game of pool similar to the mini game in GTA IV. Pool tables are spread about the city in bars, homes, and hotels. You can either play a game against a friend. A random stranger. Or occasionally a "shark" who provides a stiff challenge but a good payout once they are defeated. There are 8 pool sharks spread about the city to defeat. Max wager ina standard game is $3500 Darts Available to: All Similar to darts in GTA V you can find boards spread throughout the city. You can play against a local or as a friend. Max wager per game is $1500 Quarters Available to: All Each player can partake in a game of quarters at some bars. The game works similar to the horseshoe game in RDR and involves aiming and a meter to determine power. The winner of the game is the last man standing. Batting Cages Available to: Mikey Mikey can blow off steam at the batting cages at "Lenny's fun land" amusement park in Bradleydale. The game is mostly about timing and a round of 15 pitches costs $3. Over time the game will increase Mikey's melee strength as well as his special ability. Go Karting Available to: Tommy Tommy can partake in go kart races at Lenny's fun land. A race costs $15 and there are a total of 12 races to complete. The racing is similar to the go Karts in Bully. And completing enough races will increase tommy's driving skill and his special ability. Code went tits up for no reason and I lost a bunch of data here. Will retype it soon...... Side Missions Each protagonist will participate in a variety of side missions that range from generic fetch quests to Strangers and Freaks encounters with their own little stories. Below is a list of side missions that can be encountered and who can participate in them. Bouncer Available to: Mikey Payout: $2500 per night Mikey can take a nightly job as a bouncer at the "King Of Spades" strip club located in South Benny. His duties include working the door to make sure no drunken idiots get in and cause trouble. As well as dealing with unruly patrons inside the club. Mikey is equipped with a billy club to put down people and can grab onto a knocked out patron and pull them outside. Extortion Available To: Mikey, Vinny Payout: Dependent on the shops extorted. Both Mikey and Vinny can extort certain businesses around the city once that area is under the control of the Cavaletti family. The businesses you can extort appear on the map as a money icon. The color of the icon denotes the gang control of that business. Blue stands for the Cavaletti family. Red stands for the Mazetta family. Yellow for the Kawaska posse. Green for the O'Neil family. Gray for local street gangs. And white for neutral. Don't go into a gang controlled business expecting to take it over without a fight. When you walk through the doors of an extortable business an intimidation meter appears in the top left of the screen. Similar to the original Godfather Video game. You can use a variety of methods to increase that intimidation level above the required level in order to get the shop owner to pay up. Destroy merchandise. Use verbal harassment. Or beat up the store owner themselves. At the end of every in game week you will receive your cut of the proceeds from the extortion. Most of the money goes to the family but whoever took over the business gets a decent cut. More to come soon.... Weapons Weapons are carried in a weapons wheel similar to RDR and GTA V. This allows each character to carry every weapon. Acquiring Weapons The weapons you use in BIB can come from a variety of sources. These include in the environment (But only in ways that make sense, You aren't just going to find an RPG laying in an alleyway). Off of dead enemies or they can be purchased at gun shops, sporting goods stores, hardware stores, and pawn shops around the city. You can also purchase certain outlandish weapons from Russian Vic once you have gotten that far in the storyline. Ammo for all standard weapons can only be purchased at Gun Shops or Outdoor Shops. Ammo for imported weapons can be purchased from the back room at Vic's taxi depot where you purchase his weapons. Environmental Some weapons and items can be picked up within the environment and used but are not added to your inventory and are dropped when switching to an inventoried weapon. The Notorious MOB
This looks promising. Have you considered adding Atlantic County or even just the city to your map? Atlantic City was a big bone of contention for the Philadelphia Crime Family and the Five Families of New York in the 80s. The biggest source of conflict was when Genovese Crime Family boss Vincent Gigante wanted to extend his influence to the city (taking advantage of the legalisation of gambling in 1976) but Philly Boss Angelo Bruno wanted to hold onto it as his territory. Its believe by some that Gigante then had Bruno killed by his own underlings and then his sucessor "Little" Nicky Scarfo went into partnership with him and they controlled the city together. Basically the Philly Mob had been under Genovese control for years but when Bruno took over he broke away from them and they became an autonomous family. After his death they then effectively came back under their control. Scarfo who would've still been boss during your time setting was also friends with future Gambino Boss John Gotti (both were flamboyant so they got along). Â This being a current gen game I think it needs to have a much bigger map.
Omnia sunt Communia
I agree with M.O.B. I've been researching Philadelphia for a long time now, I was originally planning on creating a concept thread like this one, but never got round to it (glad somebody else has!). The whole civil war that broke out within the Philly Mob after Angelo Bruno was killed is ripe for retelling. Â I think adding Atlantic City would add a new environment to the game. It would give the player some of the glitz and glamour that they loved about Vice City. Plus the land inbetween is dotted with forests and hills which would make for some nice scenic drives (or death match locations). Little Nicky himself was sent to Atlantic City in the 1960s and made a name for himself there! Â Either way this is a really good thread, glad somebody else has tackled Philadelphia, because doubt I'd ever get round to it! Can't wait to read more. gtamann123
Thanks guys. I hammered out all of that last night and I was up until like 2:30 doing it. And I think the map might need some modification later on. And I plan on add-in some more stuff tonight
Omnia sunt Communia
Do you mind if I ask how you came up with the name Bennington? I spent ages coming up with my fictional name for Philadelphia, just wondering how other people develop their ideas.

I spent ages coming up with my fictional name for Philadelphia, just wondering how other people develop their ideas. It took a while actually. Its pretty hard to come up with a good fictional name for Philly. But I thought that Ben Franklin would be good to have in the name. Since he is the cities most famous resident. And Bennington just naturally evolved from that lol

Tyla
First off, I love the effort you've put into painting a picture of Philadelphia and the early eighties setting in your introduction. Great read and I'm really sold on the location. You've done your research and it shows. Â For all the historical accuracy, the story feels forced and weak. Do we really need the point of view of three mobster brothers? I like Vincent Tomasetto but the other two feel like they're there to fill a quota; one involved in wet work, the other a lover of cheap women, fast cars and bar room brawls. While I don't think you could get away with not placing some spotlight on the Mafia, it's crying out for diversity in your three protagonists. A one percenter to give the finger to the Mafia's street tax and straddle the line with Neo Nazism? Black Mafia? Â Another problem is the focus on the Mafia doesn't lend anything to what you outlined in your introduction with the struggles of the time. Those guys live like royalty compared to the unemployed blue collar worker. To have them lording it doesn't really do the rust belt justice. Vice City Stories had this problem. The game loved to take a pop at Reaganomics but we were too busy running around in our peak lapel silk suits building empires for it to be effective. Â Benny/Bennington is one of the better names I've heard. Including Atlantic City is a great idea. Â Your little hints at gameplay elements I'm picking up throughout your post are exiting. Intimidation, sweet talking, a real focus on melee and drunken brawls. Look forward to seeing more.

I wrote pretty much all this up in one night so almost all of my effort went into fleshing out the setting. Im still trying to set the story straight but i personally like the idea of having three brothers be protagonists. They may have different personalities but are still family in the end type thing. But it could still use some changes as you pointed out. Maybe one of the brothers isnt a member of the mob and just a blue collar guy trying to make a go of it? Im not sure i will just have to see what happens. I prefer to write concepts organically and not set everything straight right at the start. Â Oh and one percenter MCs will play a major role in the storyline Thats for sure. And I plan on having the family ally with several African American gangs throughout the story. I have never heard of the Black Mafia of Philly until now so maybe they willbe included its all one big mess right now because its a WIP Edited February 27, 2014 by gtamann123

Omnia sunt Communia
The Black Mafia are a must! The Philly Mob weren't the only ones running the criminal underworld in the 1980s though. You had the Greek Mafia; the Kielbasa Posse (Polish); Shower Posse (Yardies); the various outlaw motorcycle clubs; and of course the Irish Mob. Atlantic City was considered an "open city" by the Mafia so you had factions from all of the Five Families of New York represented there. Not to mention you had MOVE and the Mumia Abu-Jamal case. Philadelphia/Atlantic City in the 1980s was ripe! Â I'm getting excited again now, I need to calm down! gtamann123
Now this looks great! I can't wait to see what more you have coming. I just added some weapons. Sorry I havent really been editing that much lately.   the Kielbasa Posse (Polish) Kielbasa Posse Kielbasa Posse Kielbasa Posse  It would be nice to see Polish gang in GTA for me, because I'm from Poland.  I wrote a concept a while bakc that centered around the polish mob in Chicago. It was terrible since I was so green when it came to concept writing back then. I may make a Chicago based concept in the future and I will probably include a polish gang. Isn't there anything you would carry over from your old Chicago concept that could breathe life into a Polish organization for Philadelphia? I'd really like to see them. Huge Eastern European presence in Philadelphia. Now you have the markets popping up in the North East. It would be strange to omit them. Maybe they could have a territorial dispute with the O'Neils? Â Weapons are looking good. Liking the idea of purchasing weapons from a variety of locations opposed to just the one. Keep it up!

Tyla
I'm liking your decision to include the Kawaska Posse. The Mazetta Family make me curious. What's the story with Gambetti and Pavano being linked to them? What were the radio stations you attempted to add before the code went tits up? Post a few tracks just for easy listening... [...]
Please. Rename "Kawaska Posse", beacuse "Kawaska" doesn't mean nothing. For example good name for Polish gang is "Kabanos Posse" or "Serdel Posse". Kabanos and Serdel are types of Polish Sausages (Polish Sausage = Kielbasa). Akavari
This is pretty neat. I like the detail put into translating Philadelphia into a fictional city. I would have just covered both Philly and Camden under Carcer City, but I guess Camden itself is a better representation of the hellhole that is Carcer City. As for the story, the protagonists immediately remind me of the McReary brothers in the way their hierarchy is, with the youngest being a wild maniac, etc. Although in my honest opinion, I find the culture of Italian mafia was covered well enough in GTA IV in that it would be redundant to have three Italian brothers as the protagonists of this. Not to say 1980s Philadelphia doesn't merit a great mafia story, if anything else, but I'd rather see at least one protagonist with a background we haven't experienced yet. Â Aside from that, I respect the organization and appearance of the thread. You put a creative touch into it. I'd like to see it expanded, whether via features or more of the story. Â Good job
gtamann123
Thanks for the input guys. Â The station I created were a rock station and a disco station and thats when I relaized the code wasn't working right. I will post a few tracks of each when I get around to adding them. And im not really sure if the LC families are going to be linked to the Mazetta family I was just having trouble coming up with Italian names so I used those names. Â I named them the Kawaska posse because the most famous polish gang in Philly had a name that sounded similar to that. So I thought I would just use a fictional polish word that sounded like the name of the actual gang. Â And I dont really view the thre protag as three mobsters but as there brothers who are all part of the mob. If that makes sense. Ever since I played gta v I wondered what it would be like to have three protagonists who were all brothers and grew up together. Kind of expand on the family dynamic we saw with lance and vic Vance or Niko and Roman. Â I will add more soon its just that my home WiFi is really slow lately so im hesitant to update because the forums are incredibly slow on my laptop. And im not going to try to do it with my phone. Thats why updates have been so infrequent. But once I het it figired out I will add a lot more

Rainbow Party
Rockstar Games Presents A Rockstar North Production Give yourself some credit there, man. This is your creation The idea of intimidation/persuasion is interesting. Although I hate QTEs it sounds cool because its something that could add some strategy to the gameplay. Shoot someone in the arm and they will no longer use that arm in the fight anymore. Shoot (or bash) someones legs and they will have trouble walking around and may resort to crawling to get away. Sorry for my noobishness but I'm curious now, did GTA IV or V have that feature? I don't remember what happened in IV when you shoot someone in the arm or leg and I haven't played V. But it's definitely an important feature in a game that involves shooting these days. Also, random question, did you name Bennington after the guy from Linkin Park? Oh and awesome theme music, it fits perfectly. I can almost see a GTA 3-esque intro in my mind. And I imagine one of the protagonists to look like Robert De Niro. gtamann123
Lol I just put that because that appears on the back of every GTA game. Â And in GTA IV and V they seem to just hold their arm for a little and then go right back to shooting or if you hit them in the leg they just continue walking. So I wanted to clarify that in this game if you hit someone in the arm they will be done using that arm permanently. The combat would probably be much easier but the protags would also have lower health. Â And no I didn't name it after Chester Bennington haha. Tyla
Eh, it's better not to rush. I imagine this is going to get to be a pretty huge and comprehensive concept over time. You're more than going to make up for it, right? I noticed you added the rock and disco stations by the way. I'm feeling kinda meh about both of them, to be honest. See, they're what I'd expect - I could have anticipated the disco station playing Night Fever, Disco Inferno and so on. They're too stereotypically obvious for me to really enjoy them. 50-75 songs per is also REAL ambitious. If you do go that in-depth, I hope you keep the small number of sampler tracks that you have now because it's a stretch anybody will have the time to sit and listen through all of those.
