Ryder is my favorite character of the game. To me, he had that personality that was the most cohesive to the game's theme and the charisma that not even CJ can match. His brusque demeanor gave him that early 90s gangster attitude that complemented the game's theme. It's a shame he became a busta himself, because before that, he was a unique character.

I agree with the guy above me. Ryder, before his betrayal, was the best character of the game IMO. It would be cool if he and CJ were working together in San Fierro along with Cesar. That's what should've happened. The ghetto version of the three musketeers. Two blacks and a Latino.

To make this less predictable, I'ma put CJ aside for this one. My favorite NP character is Ryder, Cesar being a close second. These are my top ten characters of the game (besides CJ).

It's a shame he became a busta.

Because Rockstar saw his personality as a weak person who had no balls.

After watching that torture scene in GTA V, I strongly felt Rockstar should have effectively used it on Ryder in which CJ and Cesar make him realize the price of his cowardly act for selling GSF out.

Best poetry I've ever heard. This inspired me to do a BJ (Big Johnson) playthrough. I sprayed all 100 tags (for the first time), got fat, then I'm gonna dress like Smoke (fail Running Dog for that funny phone call) and let all my heavily armed homies do all the work while I watch. Maybe even get one of those Bulletproof Tamohas (already got the All Proof Tampa!)

 

2nd best would be Ryder I guess.

On Topic: Tenpenny is f*cking awesome, my favorite antagonist, everyone in the IV section is hung up on Dimitri but the guy is boring and simple, Tenpennny was f*cking badass, funny, a massive jerk and he's voiced by Samuel Motheefiin Jackson.

 

Catalina is also really funnny, i love the relationship between Carl and her, too bad her mission set is so short.

 

Big Smoke and Ryder were cool, too bad they became the antagonists and Ryder gets killed and no one cares, i felt weird about that.

 

and OG Loc and Maccer were the worst, if i remember correctly, OG Loc got away with his act and Maccer just plain disgusts me.

Toreno for sure. Something about prepared-for-anything coolheaded government agents is very aluring for me. I like how CJ's blundering (how it must've looked to Toreno) got him initiated into some esoteric death cult led by a shadowy spook. (Although I must've crashed that plane in "learning to fly" a million times before I saw the light of victory, so maybe it's stockholm syndrome. )
