ShadowDog94
I don't really see why celebrities are always being portrayed as living ''the good life'', while us peasants are portrayed as being unhappy, envious and hateful of our jobs. To me, it seems that the only thing being famous brings you is unwanted attention. I can't imagine not being able to go anywhere without swarms of crazed fans and paparazzi following me everywhere, always having to put on this facade of being happy and content, when in reality, I would rather beat the crap out of them because they won't leave me alone, especially when I'm not much of a social person to begin with. A lot of celebrities seem to get addicted to drugs too, more often than not it seems. You could argue that because they have more money, they live easier lives. But that doesn't necessarily bring happiness in my opinion. Sure, I could buy a lot more material possessions than I have right now, but it wouldn't be long until I start getting sick of everything. Buying ten new cars a day and visiting the same looking nightclubs and beaches in whatever country has to get boring eventually. That's not taking into account the rigorous schedule a lot of celebrities face. A lot of ''poor'' people hate their jobs, but with celebrities it seems a lot harder. Like how musicians have to constantly tour and record music, doing interviews all the time, not seeing your family, and if you mess up and make an ass of yourself, it will be all over the tabloids, and possibly ruin your reputation. It all seems so stressful. Surely it has to take a worse toll on their mental health than say, someone who makes a living working at a cash register from 9 to 5 every day. So what are your thoughts on this?

gtamann123
I think the suicide rate amd rate of premature death amongst celebrities points to the obvious. Some are good at managing it and can live a great and happy life. And some just can't handle it (were all looking at you JB) and end up dying alone in their posh hotel room because they have alienated everyone close to them and get depressed because they have no real friends ShadowDog94, Fallcreek and poklane
Gnocchi Flip Flops
Buying ten new cars a day You have got to be kidding me. Not too many rich people do this, and a lot of large car collections build up slower than you think. If you are a car enthusiast, believe me that receiving your new car every once in a while will make a very, very great day to remember.

Okay, but thanks for completely ignoring everything else I had to say.The answer is clear though. No, they do not always live happier than regular people. I mean not everything is just handed to them, they work hard. And being a celebrity would be hard for me as I prefer a quieter life without getting a lot of attention and/or paparazzi. I mean this question, you basically answered it within your "question". Yes they get to buy more stuff and basically what they want, and that can be satisfying and it somewhat helps you live a happier life. Raavi
No considering celebrities are basically on the job 24/7, even if they do go out they have to hold up their image. Not to mention the constant harassment by paparazzi, irregular schedules and stress caused by all the above. Wouldn't call that happy at all. El Dildo
depends on your definition of happy, I suppose... their lives aren't private but they tend to have a lot money. if you accept this tradeoff, I guess you can be pretty happy. na89340qv0n34b09q340

So I don't think we can really draw conclusions about that when it's more likely it's just because the media makes a big deal out of it that it seems like more celebrities are dying. RedBull FM
Being a normal person is better. Being a Celeb means you have paparazzi following you all the time, with flashes in your faces, and asking you hundreds of pointless questions. If you do something minor, it will end up in the papers! Search up "TMZ" on youtube.
John The Grudge
I'd say those who are famous because of their talent have a higher chance of happiness than me and you. They're wealthy, admired by many and their privacy is largely respected by the paparazzi, especially if they're nice people. I'm sure Tom Hanks doesn't get bothered by the paparazzi if he wants to go to the shop. Of course misery can creep into anybody's life. Though I guess you have a point, they never really hate on Tom Hanks. Because, so far, he's never given them a reason to. You can bet that if tomorrow Tom Hanks is arrested at 4am for a DUI with a transvestite hooker in the passenger seat he'd be hounded for months. 'Celebrity' is such a broad term that its hard to say if they're any happier than normal people. Since they're just people logic would suggest that 'no', they are no more or less happy. Being world famous for something legitimately inspiring or difficult such as being a great actor must be tremendously satisfying however being Kim Kardashian and essentially banging your way to the top whilst whoring out your own and your family's privacy must be a little empty. That's not to say that one works harder than the other but fame is not a worthwhile goal in and of itself. Rainbow Party
Yes they have a better life. They don't have to worry about money, they have enough problems to be entertained with and an easy way out. They are famous. They have unconditional love from their fans. They can score with whoever they want. They will be remembered after they die. I mean "better" in the most relative meaning though, of course. Each person is happy with what they personally want. And I don't believe in that so called "false happyness". If you want money and you have money and you are happy then you are happy. Celebrities have pretty much what most people want. They probably want it because they can't have it. But deep down, everyone's actions are reduced to the goal of: make as many people jealous of you and be jealous of as few people as you can. RedDagger
I don't really see why celebrities are always being portrayed as living ''the good life'', while us peasants are portrayed as being unhappy, envious and hateful of our jobs. Pretty sure this is not how I see celebrities portrayed by the media or the common heard. Sure, it's shown to be more extravagant, glitzy and in a world of its own, but not simply better and happier; although people can be jealous of talent and hard work that got them there and money they may be raking in, they hear of paparazzi, having 'friends' for your money and pressure and it doesn't seem worth it. UrbanForce22
I'd love to be rich, but would hate to be a celebrity, because they can't go out and buy icecream, without 100 people following them eveywhere. RedBull FM
