Ron's meth'd up text

i just received this text from Ron out of nowhere... didn't do a mission for him before, nor for anyone else:

 

"Thanks. I think there's a bug in my TV. Taking it apart now. Will be up for 3 days or so."

 

Apart from the obvious "A Scanner Darkly" reference, does this have any in-game relevance? Looked on-line, and apart from a reddit entry asking the same question, only to have the discussion drift off in to general meth talk,, i couldn't find nothing. any ideas?

It's an after-mission 'thank you' text. Sometimes they appear randomly.

Sometimes you'll get random texts from.your contacts without doing missions.
