Vapid Columbus

Escort.jpg

Christopher Columbus was known for sailing around the Atlantic and finding the new world. That being said, you'll be lucky if you can make it to the shop around the corner in this fine piece of machinery built by disgruntled factory workers on strike in the 1980's. Confused? Exactly.

Red stapler? Check. Business reports? Check. Reliable car to get you from your house to your office, yet is unattractive and the true reason as to why your secretary hasn't given you a happy ending when she fetches you your coffee? Check.

Cootie

XCriFWZ.jpg

Manufacturer: Vulcar

Design: Volkswagen Beetle Turbo A5 w/ few changes and minor edits. Comes w/ a large sunroof, dotted LED daytime running lights, 'sporty' red calipers, a duck rear lip spoiler, and matte aluminium mirrors.

Interior: Same as the IV Uranus but partially beige.

Performance: Handling is surprisingly quick, nimble, and soft sprung. It is comparable to the concept Club but is slightly slower and slightly less agile.

Price: $33,333

Vulcar is Volvo now, VW is BF. :p

Good on the rest of it though... And I gotta' admit, Cootie is a MUCH better name for the Bug than Gnat, you could even go for a mock ad ("Girls have cooties!" perhaps even "Now men can have cooties too, with the all-new BF Cootie G-Line!" XD) Matter of fact, would you mind if I use the name "cootie" for the New Beetle look-alike in my (probably never going to be released even IF it ever gets finished due to relying heavily on the work of others) GTA3 mod?

A couple cop cars:

Dundreary Police Cruiser

- Interior: light brown, the dash has a folded street map and a document folder. A shotgun is vertically displayed in the middle of the car. A cage separates the front with the rear seats.

Bravado Detective (Unmarked) [custom Port Police version]
PyS7dtD.png
- Performance: it has a bad turn radius, not too fast acceleration but a fairly good top speed. It's a quite tough vehicle, can take much more damage than other vehicles of the same class.
- Lightning: There's a spotlight next to the driver side mirror which can be controled from inside the car and a red gumball light in the dash.
- Interior: (+87 Dodge Diplomat) Blue color and bench seats. A pine scented air freshener hangs from the mirror. The dash and front passenger seat are covered with documents and notebooks. There are coffee cups randomly dispersed through the interior of the vehicle. It has a small lamp inside that lights when a door is opened. The trunk has various tools, a spare wheel, a yellow safety helmet and a shotgun with few extra ammo cartridges.
- Misc. The front and rear bumper have pushbars.

Vulcar is Volvo now, VW is BF. :p

All the BF-labled vehicles are custom/coach builds/replicas. Based on VW bodies, yes, but not VW, while the Vulcar Ingot is very much an old Passat.

It's funny, because in GTA3, the cars didn't have any specified manufactures, but the BF Injection was still the BF Injection, not just "Injection".

GTA V pretty much confirmed BF as Volkswagen. BF is short for "Burgerfahrzeug", which translates to "Civilian's Vehicle", in addition to the BF Surfer being a stock VW Transporter.

And yeah, if memory serves the BF Injection was actually named after Bruce F Meyers, the creator of the Meyers Manx dune buggy the original BF Injection was based on. :p

Fair point. Forgot about the Surfer in my eagerness.

I still view Vulcar as Volkswagen and it annoys me how the Ingot page was instantly edited to remove any Volkswagen resemblances. There is nothing Volvo about that Ingot at all. Maybe I should re-edit the page.

Blastoise1994

It looks more like a 960 than the cited V70, but overall I feel the front more resembles a 1990s Japanese station wagon. According to Vulcar's GTA Wiki page, The Ingot's description on the in-game southernsanandreassuperautos.com says "Reputed as the safest car ever made, (...) has been the choice for really terrible drivers for 20 years" referring to Volvo's reputation for providing safe, reliable vehicles.

FYI: This topic is undergoing renovation. I'll be:

- resizing all of my photos to the width of 320 if they aren't already that size
- changing the OP's colors
- changing the OP's banner
- changing up the table's layout to make it less tacky and more neat

I might create a table for everyone's concept cars too! :)

There is no VW or Audi resemblance in the Ingot, as many claim. It's clearly a Volvo 850 + Nissan Stagea. Also, go to the ingame Super Autos website and look for the Ingot info. You'll read Vulcar makes the safest cars ever and everyone knows that's what Volvo is globally known for. Also, BF = VW.
