Why do people dispise glitches?

Recommended Posts

Sure.... so if something is possible but not allowed, it's the fault of someone else.

I can fly with my car over 200 KM/h through the streets, don't fine me now... it's a car feature, you can't blame me for that mister Officer

glitching is like putting a dollar in a vending machine and getting 2 drinks out,are you gonna leave it there it's not my fault I just found it there

glitching is like beating up the vending machine until 2 drinks come out,now its the manufacturers fault for making the front out of glass isn't it?

Stuff like the 10k car resale cap, maybe?

Stuff like grinding forever for an Oracle and fifty k to see someone half your level with a Crentity and six mil?

Stuff like peeps hiding in walls thinking they're bada$$?

Beats me.

The delay of progress. Rockstar can't give us new features as quickly ad they'd like to because they have to sift through page after page of people who found ways to "buy this, hold this button, pick your butt with your left hand pinky, dashboard and you get 700000 for free and your expensive new car" but you didn't have to play or do any of the hard work a legitimate player would because you saw it on YouTube.

Why would I, a guy with a real job and a life, who has played since day 1 and has barely made enough money along with the R* deposit, to have an apartment and ten mediocre cars possibly be upset by a level 10 having 10B and a full set of expensive cars and tanks and BS like that? Hmmmm...

If I were playing chess on a computer and there was a glitch that let me move a piece in a way that wasn't intended, that's still an illegal move and I can't justify doing it just because the glitch is there, it might be the fault of the designer for leaving the glitch there in the first place but I'd be the one at fault most of all for abusing it. Cheating is cheating, and decent human beings have a (very justified) fundamental problem with cheaters. The rest of us want to play the game according to the rules the way it was intended, anyone who doesn't want that shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.

If it was a single player game that'd be something else, you're certainly free to do whatever the hell you want when you're the only one playing, but Online is completely different. Every little thing you do has an effect other people, and if what you're doing is glitching then odds are you're going to impact other people's gaming experience in a negative way, which is not acceptable (for anyone who thinks about more than their own selfish amusement, anyway).

We all like to have fun in our own way but where other people are concerned there's a limit to what you can do without screwing up someone else's fun, and the people who are playing a game as intended have the right of way so to speak. We're the ones following the rules, so we're the ones who should be having fun, and if you need to break the rules of the game to have fun then go play something else for f*ck sake and leave us in peace to enjoy the game R* made (as they intended it to be enjoyed).

If you're talking about a glitch like adding tinted windows to the Banshee and/or Bullet, that's different, it's an oversight on R*'s part not having those options in the first place for both cars, and glitching them onto the cars isn't giving you any unfair advantage. A glitch becomes a cheat by offering an unfair advantage, as long as the glitch is innocuous like tinted windows I don't think even the most hard-core anti-glitchers would care (I have both of those cars myself, and I absolutely tinted the windows).

As opposed to being too lazy to play the game as intended?

Cue up the "I can play the game however I want to" excuse...

Shhh... it just waits for you to bite. don't give it the satisfaction.

Not me. I have no problems glitching/cheating/exploiting after I get bored; it's just having all the goods early removes the sense of achievement.

That's rockstars fault honestly double standard

No, its the nature of a highly complex computer program that centered around network based traffic allowing multiple ways for holes and exploits to exist.

You're just a self-entited brat for coming up with lame excuses to why its OK.

(full disclosure, I once brought in Fruffalos and Tailgaters for personal use, I did not use save editors to outright cheat however)

A-it celebrates breaking something I love.

B-it often accompanies asshole behaviours

C-it's used to cheat and

C.1 get unfair advantages in competition

C.2 be a griefer assmouth and fvck with other players

D-Rockstar pays people to fix it instead of paying them to give me multiple garages

E-it whores the art in general so I hate it like I hate people who plagiarize great works or movies that butcher great books.

what about when you put in a dollar and the thing u want to get is stuck in the machine.....over nd over again?

can you beat up the machine then?

I do not understand what the OP is even trying to say here? Are you saying it's rockstars fault that people don't like cheating?

I think many of us don't really care for/about the hacks and glitches. I don't do them, but I don't hate them. I just don't really care. Cheating to get fake money in a video game? uh... ok.

PoeticWhisper

Cause it's unfair to the legit players who work hard to get sh*t. It also completley ruins most of the expensive stuff worth. Like I said in another thread, if there was never any money hacks or glitches, seeing someone drive by in a Adder/Entity would be a hell of a sight as you know they worked their ass off for it. These days having the 400k apartment, adder/entity just makes people want to murder you. Which is kind of sad.

Glitchers ruin the game for everyone else. Try to kill me face to face instead of shooting me from a wall. What's up with that. Happened to me in 5 different sessions today, people standing inside walls and shooting. Like in a parking garage, in the big shopping mall and inside some hedge at the 400k apartment.

How do you get in there and what's the fun in killing someone if they can't even shoot back?

i have done all the glitches there have been atleast once...

i have no issue with money glitches, rp glitches, any type of car glitches and stuff.

as long as it dont affect MY gameplay im cool with that.

i condone any type of wall glitch or god mode!

It's not the glitches that are the problem. it's the glitchers who clearly lack the skill required to play the game without cheating. I'm not the best at video games but I've made it to rank 131, got $4.5 million int he bank and have a K/D ratio of 1.91 (which is apparently quite respectable). Not a single glitch or cheat was used at any point. Go figure!

KDR doesn't matter here.

Anyway, glitching to screw with people is wrong. If they fix the glitches it's okay.

I wanna keep my ported Asterope though. No NOS. I could get an Asterope legitimately but I'll kill myself before I spend even one dollar on it.
